How on earth hdid you get Eriksen to sign he refuses to discuss terms when I tried

Was quite easy, no one else was in for him. He wanted £200k a week but negotiated him down to £180k. Big sign on fee of £10m though, but he's been quality for me so has been worth it, and I could easy make a lot of money back on him if I decide to cash in.

I’ve been wondering if I should use the in game editor to upgrade Saka’s defensive attributes or not give how well he's performed there perhaps play him a LWB/LB  with wing back/complete wing back as his role and support or attack as his duty the ideas would be to have him run  down the wing as Martinelli cuts inside thereby giving Martinelli the option to either drive into the box & shoot or pass it inside to the striker/s or pass it wide to the overlapping Saka or alternatively have Saka run with the ball with options of passing it inside to Martinelli or crossing it in from out wide what would be the best combo of roles & duties and instructions to for Saka & Martinelli get that result?

You can cancel those affiliates without any consequence.  They don’t do anything but take up space.

I want to try to get the various clubs around the world that have the Arsenal name as affiliates.  Arsenal de Sarandi in Argentina and Arsenal Tula in Russia are the two big ones.  SC Braga has a minor connection, as well.

I managed to get these renegotiated. Have a youth player link with the Egyptian club and a financial/commercial link with the Colorado club now. Also have Bristol City for domestic loans. Want to add a European work permit club, I think Belgium still has the law requiring only two seasons before citizenship. Also like to get a big south american or outside Europe club to be a feeder club. I think I've managed to get River Plate as a feeder club in past versions.

My profile is set up with high determination that helps with arguing with the board for upgrades and feeder clubs.

In 1st season (started Brazil date in May) and have gained 4 feeder clubs to date in Feb.

QPR in championship with 1st option and loan deal, added scouting knowledge.

Sunderland in Division1 1st option and loan deal, added scouting knowledge.

Vallecano second division in spain but going to get promoted.  Great for loaning some of my non eu players as 2 years to get nationality.

Frontale in Japan to boost merch and scouting knowledge.

Colarado is good for marketing relations.

I normally send players who are not going to make it to Boreham Wood on free transfers with 50% sell on fees so keep that one.

Unless you renegotiate the deals at Wadi Degla or Gai Lai for first option/loans they are pretty useless.

Having reached the 10 games played in the Premier League, I thought I would do a small review to evaluate how the season has gone so far. We have recorded 8 wins, two of which were impressive away wins against Manchester United and Tottenham. We have also lost twice, 3-2 at home to Liverpool where we were sensational in the first half but crumbled to superior firepower in the second half. And away to Chelsea, where we probably edged the game but were undone on the counter 3 times.

Viewing the team statistics tells us the story of our season so far:

  • We have the 2nd meanest defence, conceding 9 to Chelsea’s 8.
  • We are completely 24% of our crosses, the highest in the division.
  • We have made 5th most fouls in the league and are 17th for tackle completion rate.
  • 2nd highest goals from corners, behind Liverpool who have 6 (we have 4)

Players:

  • Who says Ozil doesn't run? Ozil is in the top 10 players in the division for distance covered (125.40km in 10 games). He is also 5th in terms of chances created.
  • Aubameyang has won the 3rd most key headers in the division.
  • Torreria is somewhat of set-piece specialist, with a 46% cross completion rate (3rd in the division) with 2 assists both from dead-ball situations.

965974471_Ozilchancescreated.thumb.PNG.6c090d6a7b513590340f53ba80c1eda3.PNG

Looking at the squad away from the league statistics screen,

  • We have a seemingly reliance on Ozil to create with 21 key passes and second most being Torriera with second with 18. Our left side is creating more chances with Saka and Tierney performing well in this metric.
  • There has been a relative profligacy from Pepe as an average rating of 6.92 is suggestive of a modest impact on games.
  • Guendouzi has been rather average in the Segundo Volante role on attack duty, with no notable statistics in terms of progressive play. Only 6 key passes, no goals or assists

With having a set starting eleven for the next ten games planned we can hope to have a number of younger players accumilating the most minutes in Europe's top 5 leagues. So far Saka has made the most but had failed to appear for more than 1000 minutes. However, Saka has only been 40 odd minutes from being an ever present in the side.

Moving into the next ten games, we will look to adapt the below set up. The tactic below has served us well defensively and will look to make this more potent in an attacking fashion with a few minor tweaks. Martinelli, Smith-Rowe and Nelsen will likely find themselves starting in the league more often.

Played a few more games since the match engine update and predictably my tactical set-up has lost efficacy. Previously, I was dominating possession, keeping clean sheets and winning games by virtue of strikers putting away a few of the many one-on-ones that version of the engine generated. Now we struggle to out-shoot opposition and are vulnerable on the counter attack. Also chance creation has seemed to become more organic and less predictable with less chances for clean through attackers.

I think one of my issues with my tactic is that Guendouzi is well suited to the deep roaming playmaker role, but this comes at the detriment of Ozil who does not see as much of the ball if these two are played together as RPM and Trequartista. I have also noticed that both Torreira and Guendouzi prefer to be on the right side of a two-man central midfield pairing. This could open up a space for a left sided Segunda Volante, with Chambers, Maitland Niles or Willock being internal candidates for this.

Having Ake and Akanji as ball-playing defenders has been instrumental, with Ake laying on a beautiful long pass assist for Aubameyang to win my latest game. Will try produce a GIF of this when I’m back on the game.

So far managed to give some minutes to Medley, Azeez and Cirjan the latest to get some minutes for the club in the Europa League. We’ve negotiated a new affiliation with  AS Nancy in Ligue 2. Who will be the next to profit from our academy as we look to give minutes to players of that level some professional minutes.

Arranged my first regen signing of a player called Mohammed Zidane from Ligue 1. I’m really tempted to also sign Kluivert from Roma and both the Thuram brothers to build myself a neo-90s side full of namesakes and sons. :D

Bro that's lit!

Where's Kane his penalty? How come Spurs not won? Did Son dive?

Kane went to City end of the 1st season for over 100million, Spurs bought Lemar and Carrasco with the money...

Needless to say, they aren't the same team without him and his crazy scoring run.

I'll do a lil' recap later as haven't done one this year.

Won the Prem in my first season; it was ridiculously close:

With the final game of the season almost throwing it ....
image.thumb.png.3a35a712f7683d3a30f7190132685167.png

We had some HUGE results along the way, notably,

Fa Cup was also ours:
image.thumb.png.caa7ee41fe103e00efe24c993fa4247e.png

And the Europa League was a pretty easy run and a hard fought win in the final vs. Utd too.
image.thumb.png.259d7b90d829ecd5f0dca718a847dc55.png

I set up like this with variations of a 4-4-2 and a 4-2-3-1 as other options based on the opposition.

Liverpool just won't leave my side, it's so competitive and I love it... Although some of the transfers seem ludicrous...

What on Earth is your tactic? You are getting goals and results that are amazing,

The M E in your videos acts a whole lot different to mine too.

I know it will be down to instructions etc, but I would love to know and see

I can't believe how good Tyrecce John-Jules has been he's deadley as an advanced forward ELEVEN goals in TEN games

Wouldn't mind seeing a screenshot? How much game time did you give him first and second season? What happened to Eddie N'ketiah?

As promised. Having a ball playing defender with plays long balls as a PPM  Was a 92nd minute winner as well!

How are people finding Saliba, out of interest? Any one more than three seasons in of use and got a good read on how he goes once he's 21+?

I'm in season two and have started him 90% of PL games (13 games in) as I'm keen to develop him to try and meet his full potential. We've won 12 drawn 1 so going really well in general (but tough games to come) and he's slotted in without trouble so far. But interested to know what his general development is like if anyone else has longer term feedback. Below is what he looks like for me so far, but still young. Physicals pretty good so far but hoping for more development in mental and technical. Not being impatient, just interested in feedback!

In my previous save, in 3 seasons he was excellent. Very high physical attributes - but just developed well for regular game time.

Cool, cheers. I think I'll stick with him, but I'm gonna let Luiz go in summer 2021 when his contract is up to free the wages, so will need a new third/fourth choice defender (Holding may want to leave too as he isn't getting much game time at all) so need to weigh up if I go for an Upamecano type, or someone who'd be happier with less game time. Will worry about that later though!

I'm at the start of my third season in my new save (started again to see how things played out with the new match engine update and also some other transfers i wanted to make.)

image.thumb.png.e07e769acb3f7cde9a032403f844470b.png

He played 23(16 PL APPS) times for me in his debut season, averaging 7.43, his training position setting is BPD on Defend and i put him in a mentoring team with Ruben Dias to get his determination stat up, he's picked up several traits, 'argues with officials' the only unwanted one, but might be able to un-train that later.

My personal plan with him is to partner him with Barcelona's Todibo who is of similar age and ability (better passer though)

Is it possible to create (somehow) the current Arsenal tactic under Arteta, on this match engine? Because of course real life is different than a football game, but is it worth the energy?

I'd love to see Saka giving nutmegs as left full back/ left winger with Xhaka covering his position.

It's happening again...

Went and won 1-0 at Spurs to setup home to Liverpool and a chance to knock them out of the running for the league.

Alex Telles, for no reason and for the first time this season - gets himself sent off. And then VVD smashes one in from 30 yards. We then miss a succession of chances and so it ends like this:
