Thank you Estonian Wikipedia.

Here's the editor data files that I'm using, @Weiry's excellent Estonia database and @Daveincid's now updated files all of which are located in the Editor's Hideaway.

Leagues loaded:

Estonia - 6th tier - Playable

Rest of Europe's out of the box leagues - View Only

The aim:

Slowly work our way up through the 5 promotions needed to reach the Estonian top tier and then challenge for Europe using only players from our youth academy.

Now THAT, is going to be interesting. Especially since I know nothing about Estonian football below the Esiliiga B. Will be fun to follow I bet.

(please don't progress to quickly)

I don't think anyone really knows Estonian football other than Estonians so we're all going to learn.

And I can't promise that...

I don't even think Estonians know Estonian football for that matter- It's got a worse average attendance than the Faroe Islands!

A busy pre-season to get players fitness up and it went surprisingly well!

We're predicted dead last in the 6th tier of Estonian football.

And we lose two players.

I was actually trying to find an article about that last night, I'm pretty sure Estonia was in the top 3 of least supported leagues in Europe, and I think Montenegro was the least supported?

Estonia is bottom. Wales is second worst, and I believe then it's Montenegro and... Georgia?

http://www.european-football-statistics.co.uk/attn.htm
Here, have a watch yourself. Of course the tiniest countries aren't accounted for but I don't think San Marino or Andorra are any better in all honesty. Could maybe make a neat sheet out of the stats I can find.

EDIT: Crimea isn't even in the worst 5? This confuses me greatly.

EDIT 2: Estonia did improve across 2019 so they actually aren't bottom. Still worse than the Faroe Islands though.

The English 8th tier has over triple the support of Estonia's 3rd tier.

A very strong start sees us top of the league and through to the 2nd round of the Small Cup which is a cup for the teams in the 4th, 5th & 6th tier.

Apologies for not following your last thread but I'm just not that interested in that part of the World. The Baltics and teenage goal-scoring goal-keepers on the other hand....

A very good month but our first league defeat of the season sees us fall down to 2nd whilst we'll be facing another 5th tier side in the 3rd round of the Small Cup.

Very clever lads.

Their first team is in a league with Rumori Calcio Tallinn (probably Italian links), Saku Sporting (maybe Portugal?), JK Tallinna Dünamo which has the D on the badge from either Dynamo Kyiv's logo or Dynamo Moscow, Lillekula JK Retro who's logo is 3 lions and FC Zenit Tallinn (maybe Russian links).

Lower league Estonian football is nuts by the looks of it :D

The charm of these more obscure countries, especially the lower tiers, are always fun to witness.

Just wait till I get on to the 2nd half of the season (eg maybe 15 minutes time) The 6th tier gets a bit crazy, but I'll explain it when we get to it.

So, let's try to explain this. Basically the 6th tier of Estonia is split into 3 groups of 6, we're in the North league but there's also the North/East league and the South league, at the end of the initial round robin the teams that finish 1st and 2nd in each of the 3 leagues get put together into the Champions Playoff, all 6 of these teams have won promotion to the 5th tier (get in, we made the cut!) but now we'll face off in a round robin to see who's champion of the 6th tier.

The teams that finished 3rd and 4th in each of the 3 leagues are put into a group and after another 10 matches the teams that finish 1st and 2nd in this group also win promotion to the 5th tier.

Then there's the bottom group for the teams that finished 5th and 6th in their groups, in my opinion this group is just to see who will win Estonia's smallest wooden spoon award for being the worst team in the country.

Now that we're facing the best of the 6th tier we're beginning to struggle but it doesn't matter, we're already promoted! This stage is just a chance for the best to 'flex' on who actually is the best in the league!

A great end to our league campaign and we finish 3rd out of 18, another defeat to Nomme Kalju II knocks us out of the Small Cup though and now I guess we have to wait for the cups to finish for us to get our end of season review.

Hi mate, sorry to disrupt your thread. I'm struggling to get the picture how you do yours. By that I mean how big they are. When I use "choose files" or even copy a link they come up too small. Can you let me know how you do it. Cheers

Hey, I just use gyazo to take the screenshot then when it loads in the browser I right click that image, copy image and then right click paste in this text box, hopefully that helps. :)

Thanks! My issue was the image was coming up on Microsoft Edge and it wouldn't let me copy and paste it, got it loading on Chrome and now it works. Legend!

Oooh mate! Don't think I've ever seen anyone here do a save in my home country!

It's a funny old team, here mostly known because years ago many former national team players (Marko Kristal, Igor Prins, Argo Arbeiter, Urmas Kirs etc) represented them, but to be honest, I didn't even know they still existed :D I live about five minutes from the stadium, which is being used by  ~10 other teams in Tallinn :D

Yeah Rumori Calcio was founded by an Italian sports journalist; I think all the Dynamo teams from the former Soviet countries have some sort of variation on the capital D on their badge; JK Retro has three lions because that's the Estonian coat of arms (this team also has many former national team players and was a few years ago actually called Eesti Koondis - Estonian National Team). Most teams below the third tier really are pub teams, so many of them have playful names and badges.

They do still exist but they didn't have the best of years this year:
