Is it possible to edit Squad Selection Rules for the UEFA Champions League this year in the editor without rebuilding the full competition? I know it wasn't possible last year.

I'm also interested in it. Nobody knows how to do it?

Any answers on this?

In last 5-6 years this was possible using "overrides rules" . Sometimes with some issues - sometimes not. I havent tried this year.

Overrides rules are version 1 when you take a look at xml code. Flexible are 999 and fixed are 1000 just to make this more clear to you guys.

Anyway you need to extract UCL comp first. In order to do that - follow this tutorial.

Thanks. I managed to extract the competition, however, I haven't manage to find fixture rules afterwards to edit the squad registration rules. I changed the fixtures rules index to 0. But when I test it out in the game, the squad registration rules are still the same

Totally appreciate that you're trying to help. But totally lost me at "add "Europe" file there. Apologies. Kinda new into this level of editing

Just add new "file" to advanced list. Set type to continent, choose europe and set mode to overrides rules - version 1 (i think you need to do this also in xml - its not visible i think).

Add fixture rule and set it to UCL.

Okay. I have set mode to override rules. I added fixture rule. I tried to load a new save file but it says the database is not verified and has to be verified first. But the test rules button is greyed out

Yeah sorry i forgot about this. Just delete all "verf" lines from xml.

Did the export. Added Europe. Created match rules. Changed fixture index. Removed verification. Put it on custom competition. Tested it out on the game. Squad registration rules still the same. I attached the editor file. Can you let me know what I've done wrong?

No worries. Thank you so much for your help thus far. Appreciate it. Thanks

Just change fixture rule index to -1 under UCL general section.

Just check how to add registration periods - dont use registration for transfer windows - this is continental comp - there is no transfer window here.

I dont know where is option called transfer deadline dates - it seems they removed it or im missing something.

Thank for all your help. Wanna do that yesterday but reached maximum post for the day :seagull:

So, I tested out the gameplay with a few saves. And I seen a few situations, I wonder if there is any way to rectify them.

So all, test were done through these rules like above

99.thumb.jpg.6d959f64d9ecc7448c423e7759e7ec40.jpg

As you can see above, I receive in the news that I need to register and there was both the regular rules and the rules that I have edited it. Is there a fix for this? The only way I found to work around this is to register the 99 one and go on a one day holiday.

I loaded a new save with AZ and they're in the qualifying stage. I cannot register with the new rules, just the old rules.

After managing the win the Second Qualifying round, I was asked to register again, this time, there was no registration page. When I click on respond, it just brings me back to the squad screen, there's not even a registration tab option to choose from. And many of my players were unregistered.

However, I found out that it is still possible to simulate the match with unregistered players and players will be registered right after the game is over for the next game.

Simulating to the group stage, this rule come up again. I realise there's always two, as per the example from the Barca picture above. There's one to register for latter stages, and there's one to register for the competition. The registration for latter stages will use the old rules while the registration for the competition will use the edited rules. Still able to register with the edited rules and the only workaround the latter stages registration is to go on a day holiday.

The same thing when reaching the knockout stage also. The edited rules will come first then the old rules will come after and the solution is the same. *switched to Bayern cause it's easier to simulate to the knockout stages*

Is there anything in the code or the editor file to change to prevent all these from happening?

What will happen if you use registration periods instead of registration deadline dates?

Who knows - once i tested and only periods were ok.

we have been trying to resolve issues like this for a few versions:D

best way I find is just use match day rules rather than overall squad rules this way you can get mostly what you want to do as squad rules have proved to be a total pain for x number of years, I just havent got the time or patience to try and resolve it anymore;)

hi, need your help, it looks as tho youre really an expert in editing UEFA rules

i've looked into several UEFA templates but couldnt find where to edit the Financial Fair Play rules, its usually in Match Rules. i want to edit this to increase the loss amount allowed, so no loss-making teams would get banned from participating in Champions League or Europa League. i did this for English Premier League, increased the loss amount in FFP rules so loss-making teams wont get penalized.

can you help me?
