Didn't go according to plan. Feb 2036

The plan was simple. Manipulate the Champions League Group results so that we finish in 3rd place and then drop into the EURO Cup Knockout rounds. Then just progress to the Semi's or even the Final and enjoy the reputation boost that came with it. Sounds great so what's the problem?

We were REALLY poor in the 1st leg. What a shambles. :(

1st Wonderkid. Aug 2036.

I saw that we had auto-refused this bid for a player.

He's been on International duty for a while now, (at the Olympics in Canada), and I had forgotten about him if I'm honest, so I clicked on him to have a look and he's developing rather nicely.

Youth Intake. Sep 2036.

It doesn't look that great I'm afraid. :(

What is interesting is that we got to Yanks and a Frenchman through the intake, none of whom had a 2nd Nationality. Usually this would mean that the players should not be available for me to sign, (because they are not from a Scandi-Nordic Nation), but as they I have come through our Academy I will make an exception for them.

One of the affiliates we have is with Miami FC and both (USA) players through the Intake are from Florida so that fits nicely, but I can't really work out how we got a Frenchman through with no 2nd Nationality. German, Icelandic or Norwegian I would have understood.

34a7809ee1fc41abd6c9f35f14940788.png

(36a) Björn Ström (2036). Doesn't look all that at this early stage, but he has the best PA of the group. His mental attributes look decent for one so young, and it wouldn't take much for his physical attributes to be decent. His mentals also not too shabby other than Determination.

05b1829eeaa1787b1e20530c23bd117f.png

(36e) Kevin Moberg. Looks better than (36a) Björn Ström (2036) above, but only physically. Only has a 3.0 PA rating compared to the 3.5 above. I suppose the decent thing is that they play on opposite sides.

Moberg looks like a potentially very tasty left-back. Dribbling is the only technical attribute he's seriously lacking in (for a DL). A bit of extra work on Quickness and he could develop quite nicely.

We lost only 3 league games all season and romped to the title with a massive 12 point margin. We only lost 1 game in the league last season and the margin of victory was 17 points, but I have prioritised Champions league qualification this season where as last season we engineered results to ensure we finished 3rd.

£2M for a 24,200 capacity stadium? Seems like a bargain to me! :applause:

That does seem cheap, i guess land is more available than in countries like england where £2M gets you a new stadium with about 2500 seats.

You are really beginning to dominate Sweden now. :applause:

I am, but the overall standard is much stronger in Sweden than it once was.

We've won 3 of the last 5 league titles, (and hope to make it 2 in a row this season), while also not finishing below 3rd in the last 7 seasons.

State of the Art level Training and Youth Facilities suggest that they are maxed out, and the editor confirms that now that the issues in this area have been resolved.

Junior Coaching is showing as Exceptional and the editor shows that this is also maxed out

Youth Recruitment is also showing as Exceptional, but the Editor shows that we are only at Level 19 and that there is 1 more level to pop

c6b3c7d70a0d269b77ec1e1740bdc4fa.png

I obviously want to "pop" the last level of Youth Recruitment, but as I'm sure you know, the Improve or Increase Youth Recruitment button is often conspicuous by it's absence. Unsurprisingly, it's missing here now.

243d2f23a58194e69034275793da7b8a.png

We can reduce Youth Recruitment, but the option to pop it to the next level isn't there. We haven't improved our Youth Recruitment recently so it's absence is nothing to do with that. We have the money in the bank, (£45M), so it's not finance related, and the only thing I can think of is that it's reputation related.

328bead58676ad776e9925982656495e.png

The above graphic suggests that we are now top of the Swedish pile as far as reputation is concerned, but it will be interesting to see what it's like now and what it's at when and if it "pops".

Örebro SK reputation is currently 6,925 but that means absolutely nothing to me. Let's compare it to some of our rivals.

231064428214e353fc0e123bbee2722f.png

Malmö FF reputation 6,597.

Hammarby IF reputation 6,661.

Djurgårdens IF reputation 6,337.

Kalmar FF reputation 6.003.

We have however managed to get some improvements out of the board.

I've been making a real effort to keep more clean sheets, so with that in mind, although our winning run is over, we didn't concede and our unbeaten run goes on.

Despite taking 31 points from a possible 33 at the start of the season, we are only 4 points ahead of Kalmar FF who are also unbeaten. The real pleasing thing here is that we have only conceded 2 goals in 11 games. My record for fewest goals conceded in a Premier League season is 13 in 2037 and I certainly think we are capable of improving on that. I would love to concede less than 10 league goals in a season

The following game did at least extend our unbeaten league run to 23 games.

GK decisions. May 2037.

While our current GK Sillanpää (FIN) has kept 9 clean sheets in 12 league games this season, I am always on the look-out for an upgrade.

c6c8b57a8eea00d618a37354b38a0c04.png

This is Sune Lundberg (DEN) *** who is the potential upgrade. He has an £11M foreign club release clause, but my scouts estimate that I can get him for approx £6.5M. We have a transfer budget of £34.2M and although I am always in the market for good Scandi-Nordic players, there are no really high-profile targets that I'm looking at that I desperately need.

Although I don't NEED anyone, this bloke is probably top of the shopping list. Of course it would be better if he was Swedish, bit that's not really a deal-breaker. I might throw some money at them and see what happens.

Transfers in and out. Jul 2037.

I think this was a bad deal for us, but as followers of Brexit know only to well, a bad deal is better than no deal at all.

His contract was running out at the end of the season, he wouldn't re-sign and I was really keen to get something for him, but more important I was keen to get a % of his next deal. I was sure I had done a deal for 50% of his next sale included in the deal, but I've just checked and it's not there. This deal is an absolute disaster. :(

For whatever reason, (he was unhappy a lot of the time), he hasn't actually performed as well as I would like, (despite the fact that I think he is going to continue to develop for a while yet). I'm not happy that he's going, I'm even more unhappy that he is only going for £1.5M  and I'm REALLY unhappy that I didn't get a % of the next sale. What a shambles. :(

After saying that I didn't need to sign anyone, I have splashed the cash and gone on a spending spree.

480d136ed93caf8dbf53e666b334ab00.png

Three 17 year olds, a 19 year old and a 22 year old shows that we are still very much focused on youth.

Dahlgren-Björk (SWE) *** is probably the pick of the bunch. He's a little slow for my liking, (but he is only 17 after all so there is time to fix that), and if he is only 2.0 CA right now I can't wait to see what he looks like when he reaches his 5.0 PA. £12.5M is a lot of money, but he is a lot of player. The fan reaction is that we paid over the odds for him, (and we probably did), but you have to remember that we are restricted to Scandi-Nordics so when we see a good one we have to get him no matter what the fee.

Mathias Eberlein (DEN) *** is another with 5.0 PA.

acd8f01e61d986318fb5968d2e6df418.png

Odd Andre Melland (NOR) *** might only have 4.5 PA, but he looks like a significant step up compared to what we already have in this area.

695ed707929213f71783e69118f63dd7.png

In Adam Eriksson (SWE) I think I have been sold a bit of a duffer. The scout report said that he had much better PA than this. I think the Scout report lied.

I'm really bloody annoyed that we lost that last game, and I think I'm even more annoyed that we conceded 2 goals in 1 game after conceding just 4 in the previous 14 games.

We should have won.

We didn't win.

We move on.

Big Sale. Sep 2037.

The initial deal is "only" £27M, and we have to give £4M to a previous club, but that's still a hell of a deal. The board only give us £12M back to spend but I don't care about that. What I do care about is that we have 25% of his next transfer coming, (as well as a friendly), and because he has gone to Portugal rather than one of the big leagues, I expect another move in the not to distant future.

New 4 (FOUR) year contract. Oct 2037.

I'm not sure I have ever been offered a 4 year contract before.

I'm always keen to get more than a 1 year deal, but 4 years is a LONG time and I'm delighted.

Surprisingly, nobody else has come in for me to invite me to interview for positions at other clubs. I'm not really sure why. :idiot:

3 titles in a row certainly suggest that we are starting to dominate domestic football in Sweden.

7caff40e005dcfe3d4bdb0fdc3e05738.png

We won comfortably in the end, but our defensive record in terms of games lost and goals conceded went out the window a little as I got really lazy and let the Ass Man select the match day squads in

Champions League Group Stage. Dec 2037.

I was tempted to aim for 3rd and a route into the knockout stages of the EURO Cup, but when we smashed 5 goals past Juve, and then fought back from 2 goals down at HT to win away in Juve in the next game, I think I got a little carried away. As it happened, we came from 2 goals down to beat Dortmund in the last game, and that was enough to secure our position at the top of Group D.

I think, (I'm not positive), that this is the 1st time that we have topped the group.

We twice came back from 2 goals down, and the 3-2 away win at Juve, (where we were 2-0 down at HT), ended in pretty spectacular fashion.

Sillanpää (FIN)  made it 13 goals for the season (and 60 career goals)

It will be interesting to see how his value changes once he lands in Portugal.

£1.3m value with £30m sale shows it is likely to jump, and a next sale of £50m+ wouldn't be too much of a surprise

Indeed.

On a related note, anyone who has been following might remember me selling this bloke Lundgren (SWE) *

55ca1ef225c19cba06f3d0571f5b4088.png

2032. Signed for £2.5M from AIK.

2034. Sold to Bayern for £9M rising to £10M + friendly + 25%

2038. Sold from Bayern to Chelsea for £47.5M, (so we get £9.25M + £2.7M in instalments = £11.95M). So we earned more from the 25% clause than we did for the initial sale.
