[England EFL League Two] Data Issues

Recommended Posts

Please post any data issues related to England EFL League Two here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for England EFL League Two should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues Forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling and league rules.

Morecambe

On 28th October 2019, Jim Bentley along with assistant Ken McKenna and goalkeeping coach Lee Jones left the club [source]. Later on the same day, all 3 joined AFC Fylde. All 3 signing contracts until the end of the 2021/22 season [source].

On 29th October, experienced players Kevin Ellison and Barry Roche took over first team affairs but it's not clear which is the caretaker manager/assistant [source] (I'll update this on Saturday if it becomes clear at the next game).

We are indeed aware of that news. That all happened after the data that is included in the PRB was extracted.

The database that will be shipped with the final release version of the game will include those changes, of course, and any further changes to the management team at that club.

Chris Taylor left Bradford after initially agreeing a deal due to the FA deeming him to have already played a competitive game for Barrow so bradford close not to complete the signing. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50162146

Hi - I've just given the files for Bradford a final once over and released him so that should be sorted by final release.

At end of first season, new rules says team numbers altered for league 1, 2 and NL. Obviously Bury's sad demise affects the number for league 1 this year.

I would suggest the number competing changes for league 1 stands along with change of numbers promoted/relegated to alter for 2020/21 onwards. Currently doesn't read very well.

Nope. I've read this three times and cannot understand a word of it.

What is the precise issue please? If it is an issue to do with the wording of a media article in the game, then that's not a data issue. Probably best to put it in https://community.sigames.com/forum/724-all-other-gameplay.

A minor one but Billy Clarke isn't with Plymouth on a short term deal in the beta.

Nicky hunt for Crewe Alex is more a centre back now rather than right back as it says on the beta. It would be hard to select him there as he’s only 1 1/2 star rating rather than his 2 1/2 start at right back. He’s not really played at right back for the 2 seasons at Crewe.

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but I was unsure where to put it.

I have noticed an error with some of the stadium capacity information on the League Two stadium overview page. A few capacities on the overview screen are incorrect.

Forest Green overview states 2000 but when you click on their stadium it comes up with 5140.

Morecambe overview states 2173 but when you click on their stadium it comes up with 6476.

I'm not too sure how many are incorrect.

For Bradford City the squad contains player Chris Taylor (32yr old winger). Although Bradford agreed a deal for him earlier in October this was not ratified by the football league and he never completed his transfer to Bradford City.

He would need removing from the squad

Grimsby Town
Sorry if this is the wrong place, always hard where to comment when its 12 months between each Beta

Moses Ogbu is listed as a AM(C)ST with shaddow Striker being his prefered position, he's a Striker first [source] and role should be as a Deep Lying Forward. His dribbling  seems very low for a man who often dribbles his way past 2 or 3 strikers regularly same for his first touch both should be increased by at least 2 they're his best feature.

Jake Hessenthaler's role is listed a Central Midfielder Box to Box or ball winner would be a much closer representation of his style of play.

For Mansfield Town players and coaching staff errors -

  • Bradley Lathall is showing as a 23 year old and Nathan Caine is showing as a 25 year old within the first team. These are both YTS players. Are all the YTS players DOB correct...?

https://www.mansfieldtown.net/teams/youth-team/

  • Tom Fielding is left footed and a left winger not a right footed striker.
  • Jimmy Knowles is underrated considering his emergence this season. He along with Tyrese Sinclair are Mansfield's current highest potential youngsters
  • Also missing YTS player Lewis Davis who is a right back, YTS midfielders Matty Langton and Arun Jones, YTS forward Tom Hilton
  • Youth coach Scott Rickards has left the club and now manager of Atherstone Town and Mansfield are missing Simon Ward who is the main U18s Manager/Coach and has been with the club for a number of years.

Port Vale - Carol Shanahan is classed as a "chairman". Should be chairwoman? Chairperson?

In the club's history when taking over it refers to the Leasing.com trophy correctly but then refers to the Anglo-Italian Cup as the "Anglo-Italian". "Cup" is missing?

As far as I can recall, both of these are reflected in the final release of the game.

I'm not sure what the data is saying in your version but as far as I'm aware there is still one loan that will still be paid from Simon which is the investment prior to his most recent one.

Yep that was his original investment. The £4m investment in the last year is the one that has been converted into shares.

Apologies if this has already been reported, but almost every single match has some sort of rain/snow. The 2 screenshots provided are taken from 2 different seasons.

The ME just takes whatever weather it's told to, so this would be an issue for research. However they will need a save game to look in to.

I thought that might be the case. Probably the same for this one too:

Leyton Orient.

2019-2020 Season starts with Carl Fletcher as Manager, Fletcher did not sign with the club until October so shouldn't they start the season without a manager?

No. We put the managers in when they are appointed, and the games starts with that data. That's how it has worked ever since the game was invented.

Scunthorpe United

No future fee clause for the transfers of Hakeeb Adelakun to Bristol City. There was a settlement to avoid a tribunal.

No future fee clause for the transfer of Duane Holmes to Derby County.

Both were confirmed by a director of the club that these clauses were in place.

So, what was the settlement please? I am sure you can point me to an article explain what it is.

Should there be a future fee clause for Holmes? Again, evidence please.

If it was confirmed by a director, then there will be evidence of that online. Thanks.

RE Scunthorpe United.

Here is the article about Hakeeb Adelakuns tribunal https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/scunthorpe-bristol-city-hakeeb-adelakun-2614191 .. Fee is Undisclosed but chairman reportedly wanted around £1m mark, reportedly settled for 400k possible sell on too. In the game it's £0, this article will prove it's not £0. Fee undisclosed so no way of me or you guys knowing.

Also have the evidence from the club director claiming that there is a sell on clause and other clauses in Duane Holmes' deal with Derby.

Should have Man Utd's Dan James as well.

Stevenage starting finances seem a bit too low.  I don't have exact figures of what their current bank balance is but chairman Phil Wallace has been hard at work over the summer bringing money in - the sponsorship with (ugh) Burger King, the share drive, and the selling of the Academy's nursery to Gianluca Vialli's property management group, with Mr Wallace stating that these funds would be directly invest into the first team.

The £600k bond-funded new North Stand is included in the db, but the separate share drive raised about £300k, on top of whatever was already there plus the sponsorship deal.  IIRC, Stevenage start the game with about £200k in the bank and a transfer budget of only £50k.  Season ticket sales are apparently also up 26% from last season but you may already have included that.

Sources:

https://www.stevenagefc.com/news/2019/august/share-in-our-future-equity-raise-closed-sky-bet-league-two-efl-friday-2nd-august-2019/ - "On top of the £600,000 bond for the North Stand, that makes nearly a million invested into the Club."

https://www.stevenagefc.com/news/2019/july/stevenage-football-club-shares-equity-raise-alex-tunbridge-sky-bet-league-two-efl-english-football-league/ - General summary, including references to the North Stand and season ticket sales.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49003836 - Vialli involvement

Abridged Statement of Financial Position - If I'm reading it right (no guarantee I am!) it's saying Stevenage FC had £389k cash in the bank at the end of the 2018 financial year.

I was referred from the topic 'League specific issues England' to this one. I have the following issue:

I'm playing as forest green rovers, but cannot start a match in League 2 as it says that I don't meet the league registration rules. Specifically the rule of homegrown player at club for 3 years under 21. It says I have no player who meets this requirement. Other teams are also shown to not meet the rule, but some games have already been played.

Thanks in advance

When was he at Northampton? When was he at Hashtag United? Clearly, Hashtag United is not Northampton, so his time there should be treated as being at a different club.
