None whatsoever. I thought I had a solution in sending him out on loan to one of our affiliates, RFC Liege, but the stupid **** rejected the contract :seagull:

The Champions League draw has been made, and it's difficult to see how this could have been any harder. I think we'll have to settle for a Europa League place, and we might not even get that

At least I managed a temporary solution to the 'John problem'. The French transfer window was still open, and he's been loaned top AS Monaco

An unbeaten, but very frustrating start to the season

1500191109_Aug2027.thumb.PNG.714a8f5900c917a7a46682fca03da26a.PNG

as an 80th minute equaliser from SPAL which was their first of only two shots on target against us, and an 89th minute penalty for Milan cost us 4 points that would have seen us finish the month top. I can't help but think that if we'd had John between the sticks, we'd have won both games. I'm not sure if I'll be at Atalanta much longer :(

how many non eu players do you have? the rules in Italy are very complicated

I think you have to free up a non eu slot by selling one of them outside of Italy to register John

September was perfect in Serie A, and we did brilliantly to come back from 3-0 down against Real Madrid, but couldn't repeat the trick against a rampant PSG who overran us in the first half

495241561_Sep2027.thumb.PNG.7d11215a68d905eaf5ecf7acf9ca3de3.PNG

The improvement in league form has seen us move into the top four

625072915_Sep2027table.thumb.PNG.da84c0145cac04399a3b4412ed56e0a1.PNG

and our hopes of finishing third in our Champions League group hang on back-to-back games with Benfica over the next two months, beginning with a trip to Éstadio da Luz. With the top two facing back to back games against each other, second place could be out of reach before I face either of them again

A solid, but not spectacular October

1593733700_Oct2027.thumb.PNG.05d4718bd4ad7fa0cf854e1b3e96549a.PNG

and although we're in the top four, defeat to Juventus and dropping points to Palermo in a game we bossed from, start to finish, sees a gap open at the top

1370560472_Oct2027table.thumb.PNG.a01a641aef13daa85ed192debdc46972.PNG

but the win over Benfica in the Champions League means that if we beat them again, we'll be assured of at least third place and Europa League football after Christmas

November was terrible

80440227_Nov2027.thumb.PNG.03df5f2e4bfaf8206a84676828d998f1.PNG

and has cost us our top four place

1960072328_Nov2027table.thumb.PNG.2a3b1da6f7adc56f81f3396c1255d4b3.PNG

but as long as we match Benfica's result in our final Champions League game, we'll be in the Europa League after Christmas

January was perfect in competitive games, the only blemish was a draw in a friendly

1656235395_Jan2028.thumb.PNG.ce65548ee5b5b18a9ef8b1ba0a9d0524.PNG

and we are securely back inside the top four

We didn't make any signings in January (had several offers turned down for both permanent and loan signings), but we did see a few players leave

We won five out of eight games in all competitions in February. Not bad at all, considering that three of those eight were against Juventus, and one of the two defeats was a Europa League second leg which we had all but put to bed in the first leg. The Napoli defeat was one of those games where the opposition score early (after 2 minutes this time) and then hold on. We banged on the door for 88 minutes, but couldn't find a way through.

1092538957_Feb2028.thumb.PNG.dc1585cfc8e4e923bb889f6b51efb263.PNG

and that leaves us in third place, 8 points clear of the Europa League spots. Barring a disaster, Bergamo should be hosting Champions League football again next season

I applied for the vacant Milan job in February, and they have got back to me. My board were not willing to help out by reducing the compensation

In March, I've been offered an interview at Chelsea. I'm going for it, but I'm only second favourite for the job, so probably won't get it

I am enjoying managing Atalanta but I'm finding the non EU player rule very frustrating.

A very nearly perfect April, the only game we didn't win was the first leg against Liverpool, and we managed to overturn that in the second leg

531492682_Apr2028.thumb.PNG.957ab424bddfe72891783c1d70f30061.PNG

and that has got us into a three way title battle, although we're the outsiders of the three

I think the season went on a month too long, as May was disappointing

858844661_May2028.thumb.PNG.b666f2334b092700553295066af6e8ee.PNG

although we did win my first trophy with Atalanta

1643616566_ELWin2028.thumb.PNG.4e61a97e1975c0835fd849563d3928e9.PNG

and we ended the season in a really pleasing third place

and these are our season stats, with Nahuel Aguero receiving the most red cards with 2

A right back from Mainz

and a left back from Bayern

and this is the squad I'll have to work with this season

September was nearly perfect, and we got an early red card in the game we didn't win

572047911_Sep2028.thumb.PNG.1ae661e40e501bd332018ab978f9ad3e.PNG

but the two dropped points didn't cost us top spot

93592340_Sep2028table.thumb.PNG.715dda9e8a2cb30f19d8a0d6f8fc62cb.PNG

and we lead our Champions League group too

We had a perfect October

247946222_Oct2028.thumb.PNG.509b61951308846524b88dec72bc339e.PNG

which leaves us 6 points clear in La Liga

1887565978_Oct2028table.thumb.PNG.79e8d545b0ab16f36dfbca6c3ac144e6.PNG

and we've qualified from our Champions League group with two games still to play. Group of death? Pah!!

Our unbeaten start continued through November

850453958_Nov2028.thumb.PNG.3950efe7c04a8eb54ed7f95159d6c563.PNG

and we remain top of La Liga

191062622_Nov2028table.thumb.PNG.5c5393ae45c57c1cb6a08e07ea28eadb.PNG

If we win or draw away at Man Utd, we'll go through as group winners, anything less will see us finish second.

December saw my first defeat as Barcelona boss, although not in La Liga

1570360192_Dec2028.thumb.PNG.df7d788b34de1909f6c999c03334f2b9.PNG

where we extend our advantage to nine points, although we've played a game more than Real Sociedad

1142067267_Dec2028table.thumb.PNG.92071208e2a1b8cbf722a679b0d0aaa8.PNG

and 15 points from our 6 Champions League games wasn't enough to top the group, so we finish runners up to Manchester United

Aboslutely great progress. Not many places you can go which would be considered an improvement on Barcelona!

Thanks andychar :) , and according to the Coefficents, there are only two clubs that are ahead of Barcelona in the world right now. If I want to move to one of them, I'd have to go back to England

We lost once in January, winning the rest, but once again it was a second leg cup defeat that proved irrelevant

103280079_Jan2029.thumb.PNG.07f26d88cddb829948a484b9bc727fc4.PNG

and we end the month 12 points clear, with a Copa del Rey Final to look forward to
