Kashima blew it on the final day.

Kawasaki hold on at Vissel to win the title in the most understated way possible.

We finish in second place, one place behind Kawasaki Frontale and even on points with Kashima Antlers, whom just approached us to come in to interview for their managers position. I am not sure yet whether we would leave Kashiwa.

Time for the air miles calculation.

We won 41 games this season

The equation is as follows:-

3 x 5.5 x 1 x 1 = 16.5 air miles per win = 676.47 miles won this season, added to the 1,727.77 air miles we already have means we now have 2,404.24 air miles.

The map now looks like this:-

More of Russia is now available but there is no new leagues to add.

We decide to cash in on Koki Orikasa as he is now probably fourth choice centre back at the club and we don't really need him. I nickle and dime Kawasaki Frontale up to £2.5m for him, we bought him for £1.6m a few years ago so we make a tidy profit.

Another month is in the books and it was pretty good month overall. We had one terrible result at home to Yokohama F Marinos in the Nabisco Cup, but rather it happen there than in the league in my view, plus I still don't understand how we lost, let alone by 3-0 as we were much the better side. We recoved in the Nabisco Cup to gather to wins out of the next two fixtures, plus we won in the Champions League against Jeonbuk and we look great value for a Quarter Final berth.

We sit in the final Champions League spot, three points behind Vissel Kobe, whom have started surprisingly well this season.

Guangzhou and ourselves are pretty much there in terms of qualification.

Three way tie at the top and Bellmare are the whipping boys. Results between us and Yokohama and Trinita will decide this.

To be honest this was quite an annoying month, with some very bad losses along the way. We seem to be unable to play Yokohama it would appear this season, we have played them three times, conceded 5 and scored none, which is very poor. Losing to Kashima as well was a real bad result, not because they are bad, because they are clearly not but we seemingly can't rise to the big games and get results. We are flat track bullies at the moment and it is costing us.

We are in a bit of a false position on acccount of the games we have played compared to all the other teams, but importantly Kashima and Urawa are now ahead of us, so title aspirations are receeding.

Well it's been a complete embarrassment this month. Absolutely pathetic beyond belief as we implode and go on a four game losing streak. We won 2 out of 9. The league is gone and the Champions League was hanging by a thread until a penalty saved us. We create plenty of chances but have just stopped scoring goals. I'm furious!

All ambitions of a title challenge are over, even qualifying for the Champions League looks far fetched. We sit 8th, and I am asking myself why didn't I take the Kashima job at this stage.

A short month of fixtures and we recover some form and defensive consistency. I'm still annoyed at the team, it's either hot or cold it would appear with these players.

We move up to 7th, the target now has to get back into the Champions League places, we have games in hand over a lot of teams so could still come back, but I am not particularly hopeful at the moment.

A much better month, only one loss to Urawa, which may have been expected but we were leading then had a man sent off and ended up capitulating. everywhere else we were good.

We move up to 5th in the table with 2nd place when within view. Kashima are well ahead however so a title challenge looks out of the question.

The month started with a sour note, but we managed to then string a great month together. Much happier with the boys after months like this, just a shame we were so poor a few months ago.

The league looks very different now as we are in third, and still need to look over our backs, but Kashima have lost form and now it is 6 point gap to the leadership of the division. It's unlikely but we could swoop in there. But it is crucial we maintain form.
