I also decided to sell Asensio, record holder of most apps. In his thirties, no longer near the required level. Oncina was an AMR who never really made the first team. Not too many games, also because the supercup comes quickly. I'm not worrying too much yet, as it's highly unlikely Athletic will keep this up and then we're only a few points behind whoever's taking up the lead. We had already done the job in the cup so we're through in that at least. Pep's Celta or Barca are looking the strongest, but you never know. Atlético is also back at the front after some mediocre seasons for them. Making it harder for us, especially as we seem to go through a weaker season. It is a close fight this year between six sides although Athletic surely seems to drop away further still. Just did enough. Although, on the other hand, it would've been interesting to see if we could've gone for an EL win, as I think this season a CL is going to be nigh impossible. Should at least go through here. Even made a huge leap to first, but Barcelona and Atlético have a game in hand and can overtake. Decided to sell Fernandez as the CM position is stacked and his technicals are really poor. Of course a little risk as he could grow into them. We'll see, I guess. Another offer for Carles... Minimum fee is now 178M. Pay it or leave me alone. Which will have contributed to this!! Kind of shocking as he has done pretty well with them. I guess their tycoon doesn't take kindly to failure. Okay, 5 points behind Barca. CL Draw was this month, and not great to face Barcelona twice more. But look at this! The quarter finalists are 4 German teams and 4 Spanish teams... National Team Meh... Youth Intake Can't be fantastic every year. Two mediocre Dutch players and another terrible Andorran. It seems quite impossible to get a striker prospect who is taller than 180cm and can jump. At least we are through to the semi final of the CL, our best ever run. And we still have a shot, need to beat Celta in their stadium. Second place should be ours. Wow, in a season where we were really destroyed by Barca we managed to win the CL. And of all players it was Jovanovski, who hadn't made a single appearance this year due to several heavy injuries who scored as a substitute! Insane. 95 points, that is just a crazy strong season for Barca. Gijon won the cup so they will be going to Europe and not Athletic who were first at one point... Not so comfortable a performance against the Belgians... But finished the group on a high with an easy win over Slovenia with more or less a b selection. Good enough in the friendlies but a rough defeat against Everton, who we seem to do terrible against every time we face them in Europe... Top 2 should be easy enough. Made it to the cup final where we'll be playing Numancia and set to make the next round of the CL if we beat Dortmund at home. 10 points behind Barca, the title is far away. But another CL win makes up for that alright. Josep Lluis who was on loan at Palmas scored more than Carles did for us and almost won the topscorer award. With Ferran Cos being unhappy I'll either sell Cos or loan Lluis/Cos out for a big loan fee. Griezmann!?! Interesting to see that Carles has almost the exact same goal-scoring record as Josep Ballesté, at quite a different level of football of course. The all-time records are in danger of being broken, with Jaume Ruiz nearing Asensio and Carles needing one or likely two more years to break Escoruela's record. 2 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Nations League A busy international summer started with the nations league finals, which brought me a second international trophy with Spain. We did need extra time in both games though. Confederations Cup We started with the toughest game of the group and with a win in the pocket we are pretty much sure of finishing first in our group. USA first, then whoever is stronger between the Germans and the Argentinians. A comfortable win in the semi final, even if we had to play 30 minutes with ten men. We started and finished the tournament with a game against the Argentinians and once again we managed to come out on top in the end. Needed extra time, and the game was far from a classic. Pre-season was spent in South Korea, with quite the (not so) gradual build-up in results... Premier League spend is ridiculous, but showing this to show tycoon-owned Celta, already for many years spending money have really gone overboard this time. 199M is the second-highest fee anyone has paid in this save - Spurs actually holds that record as of this summer as they bought a brazilian AML from Barcelona for €214M.
