A team called Typo... "Curse my fat fingers! I meant Tai Po".

In this save I will manage Tai Po, who play in the Hong Kong Premier League. I will be doing a Director of Football Challenge, which means I have no control over player transfers or contracts. I will post updates after each transfer window.

Summer Window 2018:

After an average start to the season, we find ourselves placed in 6th out of 10 teams. Although the teams around us have mostly played a game fewer, we are currently meeting the Board's expectation of a mid-table league finish. However we have a long season ahead of us and if we continue to concede late goals it will cost us in the long run. If this trend continues I will have to alter my tactics late game if we are leading.

In terms of transfers we have a new back up goal keeper and starting xi holding midfielder. There were no major outgoings just a young defender who would never make it at the club.

Winter Window 2019:

Since the summer we have picked a number of points to find ourselves with a chance of winning the league this season. We are currently in two cup competitions after being knocked out of the group stage of the Sapling Cup and the semi final of the Senior Shield. As well as the league I think the only cup we can realistically win is the FA Cup. We have little to no chance of getting far into the Champions League knockout rounds at the moment. We have to win two qualifying rounds in order to get to the group stage.

The squad has stayed the same since the summer.

End of First Season:

We did not win the league this season. But we still beat the board's expectations by finishing in the top half of the table. The good news is we won our first piece of silverware the FA Cup and got a couple of good youth players during our intake.

I saw a YouTube video about how Newcastle have played in 2019. I thought it would be interesting to implement a similar approach in my save. I tried it for the last five games of the season and it went pretty good. The main problem is though we are conceding a lot of goals from outside of the box. On the flip side though we are scoring goals and we have yet to concede a clear cut chance  playing this way.

My targets for the upcoming season are to finish in the top half again and win another cup or two. Lets just hope our Director of Football creates a miracle in the summer window and not a disaster.

Summer Window 2019:

We have not had the best of starts in the league. I am still using the Newcastle 2019 tactic which I implemented towards the end of last season. I think I have cut down long range shots from our opponents. I just changed our line of engagement from lower to higher and told my players to stay on their feet when tackling an opponent. We won both games, with a clean sheet each, since I made these changes. The board expect us to finish in the top half this season.

Our Director was fairly active in this transfer window by transferring four players out and bringing five in. He sold two central defenders and and a winger back to their native Brazil, one of which will leave in January. The final outgoing was a reserve attacking midfielder who joined another team on a free transfer. He brought in a goalkeeper and a full back, both from Brazil, and three homegrown players (two defenders and a winger). The best transfer looks like it may be the winger, on a free, from HKFC.

Since the summer our form is yet to improve and we find ourselves just above the relegation zone. However I do not think we need to change tactics just yet. We are performing well in most games and have yet to lose to a big scoreline. I feel as though it is a matter of time before we turns thing around. At least we have the Senior Shield final to look forward to.

Once again we did not sign anyone in the January transfer window. We sold some more of our Brazilian players this window. They were a striker and a central defender. Randomly, we will have an English 17 year old defender joining is in the summer on a free transfer from Wales.
