Laggy Gameplay and increased CPU usage

Recommended Posts

Since the last update FM runs really sluggish and it has a negative effect on the rest of my laptop's performance.

Sometimes following an update there can be slight issues. This is most commonly related to anti-virus programs interfering with the process which causes performance issues with the game.

As a starting point we'd suggest deleting your cache and preferences folders, then trying the suggestions as listed via our FAQ here - https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2019/180_how-to/181_pc/how-to-make-sure-that-an-anti-virus-program-isnt-interfering-with-steam-or-fm -r627/

If having done all of that you still have issues, please reply back stating what type of anti-virus program you have installed and posting your Dxdiag. Details here - https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2019/180_how-to/181_pc/how-to-find-my-system-dxdiag-r619/

I can't seem to reproduce this in Steam or in our internal builds. Can you send a screenshot of task manager showing FM with high CPU (maybe gpu?) usage? so I can compare to what I'm seeing here.

Might be worth checking in the nvidia control panel (if you have a nvidia) and check FM isn't using the integrated GPU - someelse else reported this had happened to them.

It doesn't seem to be doing it now, so maybe yesterday was an off day. I'll monitor it over the next few days
