Out of Memory crashes

Recommended Posts

Description of Issue: As above!

Steps to Reproduce: It's happened in press conferences, entering a game, in the tactics screen and on one occasion when the game was idle and minimised.

Hey @Pedwar Pump,

Could you please follow all of the instructions below:

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

Yep, already been through all that a few times. I've reinstalled the game, cleared caches and preferences, verified files, uninstalled all mods and skins, run the game with 1 league and a minimal database. It still crashes over and over, particularly when going from submit a team to the match screen.

Hey @Pedwar Pump,

Thanks for providing us with the extra info,

I have tested your save and can't seem to reproduce the issue,

Could you please try this:

- Right Click on your desktop and select 'Nvidia Control Panel'
- Click 'Manage 3D settings'
- Select 'Program Settings' and via the dropdown box for 'Select a program to customise' select 'Football Manager 2019'
- Select 'Power Management Mode'
- If the default setting is 'Optimal Power', now select 'Prefer Maximum Performance'
- Select 'Apply'

Cheers,

Hugo

Hey Hugo,

I've changed the Nvidia settings and haven't had a crash yet with 3-4 hours of play, so it seems to be working. Thanks!

Here's one I just got, it's not the out of memory message though is probably related. I've attached the crash dump as well. This time the game crashed trying to go from the select team to screen into a match (which seems to be the only crash I'm encountering now, the random ones during other screens have stopped). I've just updated to the latest NVidia drivers (released 22/2/19). I was in the beta for a bit but opted out to see if it helped. I'll give it a run with it selected again.

I've joined the public beta again, same issue, game crashes going from tactics screen to match.

Hey @Pedwar Pump,

It appears to be an issue with the memory of your graphics card,

Could you please attempt to uninstall your graphics drivers and installing an older version of the drivers as a test,

It may also be worth providing us with an updated dxdiag,

Cheers,

Hugo

Hi Hugo,

I've tried the last 4 Nvidia drivers and all crash. I've found that re-starting the PC helps and I can get through several games before it'll crash but it does always happen. I've attached a new DXDIAG.

Hey @Pedwar Pump,

Could you please let us know if you are running any custom graphics or databases,

Also what graphical settings are you running on and database size,

Cheers,

Hugo

No custom graphics or databases, I'm running on high but have tried medium and low to no effect.  I've also tried with sound turned off.

Hey @Pedwar Pump,

Are you running any other programs in the background or anything that may be using a considerable amount of RAM?

Cheers,

Hugo

Only Firefox usually, maybe Libreoffice whilst I'm working.
