Determination falling

Recommended Posts

My Players are improving at a good rate but have noticed their Determination is dropping in a number of players and trying to get to the bottom of this.

I questioned my Assistant managers training but ratings are going up well, just determination dropping.

Looked at mentor groups to see if any negative personalities but all are balanced or better.

Any suggestions or help welcomed

Determination and other (non-visible) personality attributes tend to adjust towards the average of the squad, and towards those of influential players. So if you have a squad of not-very-determined players, including some who are influential, you can expect new players you put in the squad to get less determined over time.

Also worth bearing in mind that if you're dealing with a real player rather than a generated one, they will never have a negative personality label for legal reasons. They could have 1/20 in every personality attribute and they'd still be "balanced". It just means that there's no area they positively stand out in - they could be average in all aspects, atrotious in all aspects, or anywhere in between. So if you're interested in player development you really want to get in players and staff who have a good, positive description preferably related to Professionalism or Ambition which are the two most important personality areas to development.

Guess it will come down to Ozil as a bad influence then with determination of 8, everyone else has rating of 12 or above

Determination too. All three are equally weighted when it comes to development.

Ooh. I thought that a while ago but could have sworn a few knowledgeable people said that was a misconception and that it was primarily used in-match when the team's losing or otherwise in a bad spot. Thanks for the heads up!

it does also have an impact of how likely they will keep putting in performances even when things arent going well.

more determined hard working player is less likely to just sit back when your losing 1-0. Determination plays a huge role in alot of different aspects of Football Manager.
