January was slightly better

and we're looking up now rather than down

694481853_Jan2025table.thumb.PNG.1d5af41ce0d00a286c6f9ac2884e61e3.PNG

and we brought in two players on loan

both were midfielders

Just realised I forgot to do a February update, so here are February and March's results

1383835709_Feb-Mar2025.thumb.PNG.d9c38858e4aacf2e05c80706898c9182.PNG

and I think we can call ourselves safe now :)

Youth intake time, and just one player offered a deal from the new intake

There will be a lot of put downs in the dressing room now.

How long did it take you to think of that one Nobby?

April was a pretty solid month too

574133868_Apr2025.thumb.PNG.e4fb2e4f1955a101b357b037a7b306ba.PNG

and incredibly, we still have a mathematical (though very, very unlikely) chance of a playoff place, with just a single game to go

Great Job Staying up...hopefully you get lucky!

It wasn't to be

1153719150_May2025.thumb.PNG.d6a3b23858bf1469cbedb5611e902a4f.PNG

but there is consolation in the fact that Barnsley secured automatic promotion by beating us, and the other results meant that even a win wouldn't have been enough. Over the moon with this final league position though :)

top half finish definitely not to be sniffed at !

Absolutely. Since arriving at Argyle, I've hardly spent anything, relying on loans and free transfers, and we have the lowest wage budget in the Championship, so I'm delighted with that as a first season. It's going to be very difficult to improve on that, but I'm going to give it a shot

Preseason results weren't too bad

2099167776_Jul2025.thumb.PNG.3842270d2c765cf299f731f02471e2cf.PNG

and we made a few signings

Do you reckon you can take them up? Probably not this time but at least soon enough?

It's not going to be easy, but I think it's possible in a couple of seasons or so, as long as I keep my best players or at least replace them with the same quality players

October was a little better, but not much

1574995073_Oct2025.thumb.PNG.6ec3e32ad0ec538825f43b6837cea2df.PNG

and so our league position has hardly changed, but there is a big gap to the top 6

Good season Pilgrim.

Barnsley back in the Premier League... not many saw that coming.

I would've thought Luton being there was more of a surprise?

Brilliant January

144009095_Jan2026.thumb.PNG.b6ea580063e3cea6983999ac26b43b84.PNG

and we've improved our league position as a result

307006697_Jan2026table.thumb.PNG.df7b0f177f96866b196a7d240eb02331.PNG

which was enough to win me the Manager of the Month award

and I'm delighted to get this fella in on loan. What a recommendation from my scouts :)

February wasn't great, although Spurs only beat us with a 90th minute winner

2128192826_Feb2025.thumb.PNG.7039e8500e3f87d42afb83daa2f6485d.PNG

and we've reached 50 points, so should be safe for another season

Playing a friendly against St Blazey at the start of March was supposed to kick start a charge.... oh well

1110476282_Mar2026.thumb.PNG.25176e200529db1c4c0333fe804558b6.PNG

but as we've already passed 50 points, we're not going down

I think Charlton are dead and buried, but the other two spots I think are between the five teams above them. I don't see Rotherham, Crystal Palace, Millwall or us going down from here

April was a frustrating month. We trailed twice against Bolton, were woeful at Norwich, trailed against Middlesbrough, and blew 2-0 leads against Ipswich and Fulham

604802693_Apr2026.thumb.PNG.89f01ac139488415cf7768b18150a03b.PNG

which has cost us a top half finish, and might help Norwich avoid relegation, as they play Brentford at home. We will also have another say in the relegation fight, as we play away at Bristol City

Great job on staying up again!

How long do you think it'll be before you can put forward a promotion push?

Thanks mate. After this season, I'm thinking never. We are so far off in terms of transfer and wage budget, I think we massively overachieved last season, and this season is a more realistic reflection. I've not set any targets in terms of what has to be achieved, and I think two successive promotions, plus keeping Argyle in the Championship, means that if Exeter City will ever have me, or Tiverton get into National League South, I'll have to move on. The challenge will be completed once I've managed to win something with all three / four
