First thing I have done after my appointment was getting rid of Schneiderlin who had huge wage and was not so good anymore. Escudero was kind of the same thing. Araujo wanted to go so I let him as soon as I got his replacement. Hernandez and Sendra was brought in by DoF and I am not really sure why (before I joined the club), Esparza might be decent in the future even though I agree he does not look so good now. Kukovec was a bargain since he's already starting for us. Ander Herrera is 33 but he's still rated very well and he is one of my favourite players so it was a sure thing. He was appointed vice-captain after Araujo departure aswell. And finally Felix Uduokhai is a replacement for Araujo - their current ability is almost the same but he has bigger potential for sure. And since our defense is rated very badly I could not let this opportunity go. Sergio Ramos will join us for his last year of professional career, as he already announced retirement but was free player until we signed him. He still gets called for Spain national team and last season played 20+ games for PSG with 7.32 rating. He's rated as our best CB by far (by one star to be precise). scarp Posted January 15, 2019 Author Share Posted January 15, 2019 SEASON 2022/23 Vietto did not make into team of the season even though he played almost every match and Berghuis played only a few. Honorable mention goes to Uduokhai who played quite a lot of games as CB and also played some as LB when Mario Rui was injured. David Silva is not here because he just retired.. He did not play a single game though. When I joined, managerial support was a complete opposite - "very poor" due to my inexperience. 25 goals and 14 assists as ACM? Not bad. Thanks! Ramos made it into La Liga best lineup even though he is 37. Shame he's retiring. I signed him as a coach though. So my ACM is Europe' most lethal finisher. And on 2nd place is a guy from my youth in-take in Boavista! I am happy with draw in München as I was a bit afraid we will get smashed. Lets get my revenge from my time in Portugal! I promised the chairman to sign youth players and I did not that quite do that in last season so here we go. Some of them might be flops but some will definitely play a huge part for Vigo in the future. Our captain Hugo Mallo wanted to go to China really bad, so I let him. That means our defense is way worse than last year, with current budget I just could not find any good CB and RB whole summer. Scheffel could be huge! Edit: it seems to have something to do with .png files, as I found out I have the same problem in other topics. Files that are .jpg or .gif are viewable, all .png files are not. Clearing / resetting my browser did the trick. Edit2: more specific, it was i.gyazo that was blocked by privacy badger. Allowing to view content, but without cookie tracking solved it. I am happy with my team though, I had Mula and Schefell out for first leg and that is why we could not score, I am confident that with them we would be able to. The drop from last season was not so bad and we have got great results in Champions League, all that by playing attacking football. We could have definitely finished higher in the league but we did not because of lack of depth in our squad. My biggest fault was letting Hugo Mallo go as he wanted me to double his salary what I rejected but should not. I still did not get much money for transfers so lets see who we can get next season. Good to see our youngster Prados getting some recognition even though without injuries he would not be starting. Mangala only missed one game! Also Vietto on bench. Brought three great players for free, Konaté as my new starting CB for 6mil and Lars Butter for 2mil (I am not sure here though.). Let three youngsters go on loan partly because UK left EU and McGowan counts into non-eu players.. and got rid of Barcia for some cash. scarp Posted January 19, 2019 Author Share Posted January 19, 2019 JANUARY 2025 Very tough schedule for us in January made us lose three games. I am mostly disappointed with our loss to Sevilla - we lose to them all the time and it probably means we will be out of Spanish Cup in semifinals. Real Madrid seems to be unbeatable in league and we are down 6 points on them partly because we lost to them in January but they were honestly just better. Napoli met Ben Woodburn's release clause which means he's leaving us after only 6 months of playing for our colours. Silvero leaves aswell as we do not need him and he was not the best pick up we made. On the other hand we signed two promising central midfielders and one CB/RB from Madrid who immediately jumped into starting lineup and helped us beat Barcelona 3-0 earlier in the month. We also get knocked out from SC in semis by Sevilla.. and guess who we face next in EURO Cup? Sevilla! A team we can not beat under any circumstances it seems.. Hopefully we get our revenge this time. Usually with this amount of points after 25 games we could be looking for title but Real Madrid is 23-1-1 and we are nowhere near catching them.
