After playing FM over the last week with the new laptop ive been hugely impressed with it. Might be the fact mine was that bad at running the game before but the game loads up so much quicker and runs like a dream. In that case, for the £350 you've linked machines at, the best one I can find with a quick look is:

It won't be quite as good in terms of the graphics (most likely up to medium settings for the 3D match engine), but it will be just as good as the Ryzen 5 in terms of processing speeds  (and very possibly even a bit quicker).

I've probably got a budget of £1k ish all in for a 'gaming' pc. Not expecting miracles but some solid gameplay across a few titles and mainly FM

Depends, do you think you could build one yourself? As that's the cheapest way. Otherwise you should probably get some company like PC Specialist to build one for you. 

Fwiw, I will be attempting my first ever build purely for FM on Friday! It's apparently pretty easy, like grown up lego, lol. 

If you have any further questions regarding a gaming desktop then fire away, you will definitely receive the advice you need in here.

Back when I was 19/20 I definitely could have. But now I couldnt e en build normal Lego!

 

It's more the parts these days that get me. Its just knowing the best parts to get, seems to change vastly in a few years. PC specialist was definitely the place I was looking at but just didnt know what type of machine to go for. I think pre built machines from stores just take your eyes out too.

Ryzen 5 3600 is faster in gaming and at the moment is the most used CPU for gaming builds. 

I am with Ryzen 5 2600 and I have 2 star game speed with 40 playable leagues and large database with 100k players.

I imagine it will, but it is likely to be pretty slow and I don't imagine it would run the 3D match engine particularly well.

I certainly wouldn't call it a major upgrade.  Based on the benchmarking sites, the Intel in the all-in-one has better single-core performance, but for complete overall performance the Ryzen 5 in the laptop actually scores slightly better.  What this suggests, in theory, is that the Intel would likely be marginally faster for FM as that processes mostly in single core, but for overall computer performance the Ryzen 5 is a little stronger.

In addition, the Ryzen has stronger integrated graphics than the Intel, so should be able to play 3D at higher settings.

The laptop runs on a solid state drive, which will also add to the speed of overall performance, albeit at the cost of storage space (the laptop has a 256GB SSD, the all-in-one has a 2TB hard disc drive).

So, there are pro's and con's to both - ultimately both will be able to play FM at a decent speed, but it would be your decision as to what part of the system you want to compromise on.

Change the video card with Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB PULSE Video Card  and you are fine

It only barely hits the minimum specs, so it might, but likely not well. That laptop isn't designed for processor intensive games at all. What budget do you have to work with?

What games will you be playing? More than just FM I'm guessing considering the GPU's you are looking at?

I would have went for a better GPU but it's really pointless when the only PC game I play is FM. I'll be trying to build mine tomorrow for the first time, hopefully it's not to difficult!

You do not need the X version of the Ryzen 5 3600. With that budget I'd go for 3200mhz RAM. 

With that SSD you can store just 2 new games at once so go for good 500 GB SSD + 1TB HDD if you want space. 

I advice you to look again at this build I suggested -

Cut from the power supply if you want and go for 550W while going for 3200mhz ram instead of 3000. 

RAM is cheap part so you can change it later in the future if you want.  

As for the video GIGABYTE RADEON RX 5700 XT GAMING OC or that RTX 2070 I suggested.

I am looking to update my current laptop so I can enjoy FM0 at the highest quality I can.

I am looking to pay up to the £600 ish mark if I can.

I don't play other games but I do multi task a lot and stream a lot of movies, sports etc.

My current laptop runs quite hot and the fan is really noisy.

Ideally i would like a gaming laptop that runs quiet when playing FM20, I would like to play everything in FM20 at the max, leagues, database, graphics etc.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd second Smurf and say your original configuration is absolutely fine.  This one doesn't look as strong.

If you bought the HP, you'd be paying an extra £120 for a lower spec laptop!

EDIT:  The graphics card actually seems to be weaker on the HP as well.  They both have the same model number, but the Argos one says 3GB VRAM, and the HP one says 2GB!

Yes, it will.

Assuming FM's specs stay similar it should do, but I can't guarantee this obviously as I wouldn't know  what the system requirements would be even for next year's game.

EDIT:  The graphics card actually seems to be weaker on the HP as well.  They both have the same model number, but the Argos one says 3GB VRAM, and the HP one says 2GB!

What do you think of this one compared to the argos one.
