Feb 2052.

We played a late friendly simply because it was in a clause of a player we had sold them. We got cash out of it so it seemed rude not to. This was the only goal we conceded this month.

43c882dfa96e9be295106a5457755dc1.png

We have scored 50 goals after 8 games and the record is only 101 goals in the whole tournament. We have 6 games left in the league and then 4 games in the knockout stages so if we can average 5 goals a game then we should be on for a new record. 5 goals per game sounds a lot, but if we hit double figures twice more then it gives us a hell of a chance.

Goal-scoring GK Bodão (F.Pro) * converted from the spot against Rio Branco (AC), but he then missed from the spot against Galvez (AC). He then scored a 2nd penalty of the month against Placido de Castro

You might notice that Parente (Realist) * scored a pen in the friendly, (but that doesn't count).

Wonderkid. Mar 2052.

We have our 1st Wonderkid in the Brazilian chapter of the save.

Although he's contracted for almost 3 more years, my plan is probably to sell him at the end of this season, unless of course we get offered sill money for him before then.

He's currently top of the PA pile, but I'm pretty sure that he wasn't top fairly recently. In any case, he's not a product of our Academy so (49a) Fininho (F.Pro) * is 1st choice striker at the moment and is likely to remain so.

2nd Wonderkid. Mar 2052.

I've just realised we have a 2nd Wonderkid and I'm surprised if I'm honest.

We got him for just £350,000 as a 16 year old when he had previously already been transferred for £1.1M. He was an AMC who I wasn't particularly keen on, but it seemed like too good a deal to pass up, so I didn't pass it up.

I have been playing him as a right-sided central midfielder, B2B(s), but I have sort of come to the conclusion that I don't want him to play as a B2B(s) and I also don't want him to play as a DLP(s) either.

If he's not going to play as a MC then I have to try and find a spot for him somewhere because he looks too good to ignore.

At the moment I'm thinking of a T(a) or a F9(s)  and seeing how either of those roles fit in up front with an AF(a). I don't have much experience with either so we will just have to see how it goes. I will probably start him on the bench most of the time and see how he influences matches from the bench.

The description on the F9(s) suggests that it is more suited to a lone role than a partnership up top, so maybe I will start with a T(a) and go from there.

State Championship. Another "perfect" month in this competition with 100% wins and 0 goals conceded.

Copa Libertadores. 2 wins from 2, but a goal conceded in each game.

Copa Verde. I have absolutely no idea what happened against Interporto in the 1st leg of the Qtr Final.

98d4fac98cef8372655d519028989002.png

We missed a penalty but even then we still should have got something out of the game. Their GK made 17 saves in the match.

f31a0260c80b6e8e3c432f4ab31eb4df.png

Goal-scoring GK Bodão (F.Pro) * scored 4 penalties this season, but he also missed from the spot, (his 2nd miss), against Interporto

He's up to 6 goals for the season and 11 career goals. He's not scoring direct free-kicks though and has missed 2 of 8 penalties this season so whichever way you look at it, he's not the answer if I want to set a ridiculous record for goals scored in a season by a GK.

 I assumed that this meant that the clause didn't exist, but I have just checked and it does exist. What a bloomin nightmare! (My DoF did the deal and I just chose to accept). :idiot:

e73b71357d578c6f91bc20e96b631603.png

On the plus side, he's getting paid a decent/good wage for a teenager and is playing very regularly. He's scored 13 goals in 8 appearances already this season so he's doing something right, and nobody is currently interested. I am going to have to try and renegotiate the deal though because that's a ridiculous clause. :(

Great spot by the way @The_Gato_In_GoalThank you.

By the way, thanks to @The_Gato_In_GoalI have now secured (49a) Fininho (F.Pro) * to a new contract, (although he is no longer (F.Pro) and is now just (Bal) so his nickname will have to change. I bet that happened at Porto.

bc7c41e973ce1b1fe94bbc0145195877.png

You know what..... I don't think I did offer him a new contract! :herman:

If I had, then as well as something surely being different other than the min fee release clause, there is no way on Earth I would have kept the Unused sub fee in there. I hate it and just refuse to have it in there. Nobody gets paid to sit on the bench at my club. Everything else is identical. No. I think it changed without a new contract being offered.

I think I'm going to have to keep an eye on stuff like this. :kriss:

Acre State Championship. 5 wins is great, but we conceded a 2nd goal in the league phase and then Rio Branco (AC) went and scored a 3rd against us in the Semi 1st leg. #NotHappy :( I know I'm rotating the squad in lots of these games, (the 2nd leg of the Semi is a prime example), but there is still no excuse. I want 0 goals conceded in this competition! :kriss:

d313b132676ad34e19f64ad68b2380de.png

14 out of 14 looks good but really isn't anything special.

acc915e6b974110fd40cdbd68108e935.png

Copa Libertadores. We're winning these games, but really not firing as I would like. I know Deportivo Cali were unbeaten in their other games and still sit 2nd after we beat them twice this month, but O'Higgins, (love that name), and Municipal both deserve a hammering in the 2nd games. We've qualified already so I will probably rotate the squad in the remaining 2 games anyway.

Copa Verde. Yeah we are winning, (again), but, (again), we have conceded another goal. I really need to sort the defence out. I think I might have too many defenders and as a result of rotation they are not developing as they should. How can you have too many players when you play this many games!

c5910bdbce36e4954f20037a65b575f0.png

Goal-scoring GK Bodão (F.Pro) * has been in mixed form. He scored 6 goals in 9 games this month as he started on absolute fire with 6 goals in the opening 4 matches, (2 braces). but then he didn't scored for 5 games and to make matters worse he missed a penalty in each of the last 2 games.

You know, I don't think that's too bad actually. I know he is sticking it in the wall a fair bit, but I would rather him stick it in the wall than fire it over or wide I think. It sort of makes me think that if he beats the wall then he has a decent chance of scoring. I know they are not "top corner" like some of my previous GK's, but it's a start.

196dc808f12d9318457bc94940b83a89.gif

He's up to 12 goals from 23 appearances this season, (but has missed 4 penalties too), so could be on 16, and (49c) Jackson (Bal) has also taken and scored 1 penalty on his only appearance this season so he could easily be on 17 for the season already. Nobody else has scored or taken a penalty this season. It means that he is up to 17 career goals from 67 appearances, (which really isn't great). Things are looking up a little recently though.

Decided to start a save in a neighbouring state. Any advice for lower league management in Brazil?

Well you should take into account that when I took over in Brazil, it hadn't been an active nation for very long. Additionally, there were no other South America structures loaded, although I have Argentina queued up at the moment to go active next month.

1e19849b684dd6e640f635d7fd4d3406.png

What I would say is that there seem to be some ridiculous bargains to be had in terms of decent potential youngsters with low min fee release clauses for domestic clubs, but that's a double-edged sword and you will have to be careful of that yourself.

I'm not sure if you are going youth only or what, but the other thing I would say is that there are 3 domestic Cups, (I think there are 3 anyway), and these offer a short-cut into the Quarter-Finals of the domestic Cup, (which isn't great in itself if you are only a little club), but the prize money for that level is approx £0.5M for losing the 1st game so that's not to be sniffed at in the early stages of a save.

The Cups are called.... Copa Verde, (which we enter), South-Minas-Rio and Northeast Regional. I think these 3 coimpetitions are all aty the same levlk.

Good luck.

Cheers, mate.

I was confused by all the cups. But that makes sense. They are opportunities for smaller clubs to get in and play the bigger teams in the main Brazilian Cup. I'll definitely be looking out for the bargains. Looking forward to it.

The STate Championship is actually classed as a 2nd league rather than a smaller Cup. Just embrace it and you will love it.

I'm only on like page 11 on this thread but I thought your whole thinking about goalkeepers taking freekicks was interesting. So I tried it on my save after my players kept hitting it in the wall or putting the ball in the stands time and time again. It only took a few freekicks before the goalkeeper scored his first goal!

Not commented in a long time in here (or anyones thread for that matter) but what a career as ever @Jimbokav1971

All the talk of GK scoring goals in here and @Makoto Nakamura thread has lead me to putting mine on free kicks and penalties despite being awful. My current save is in Azerbaijan with Sumqayit. The player in question, Bayramov has 5 goals in 11 games this season, which makes him my top goal scorer so far this season. :D

May 2052.

Acre State Championship. We won the Final 7-2 on aggregate for our to secure our 6th successive title.

Copa Verde. 5-1 on aggregate brings us our 7th successive title.

Copa Libertadores. Maximum points in the group stage is a surprise, especially when we were unable to field a full match-day squad in the last game and had to start a "grey" GK due International call-ups.

First Division. A bit hit and miss here but we have been absolutely decimated by unavailability due to International call-ups.

Goal-scoring GK Bodão (F.Pro) * is up to 13 for the season now, (including the free-kick in the previous post), bringing him to 18 in total for his career. (49c) Jackson (Bal) has scored 1 goal from 3 appearances this season, bringing him to 11 in total for his career. The only other GK to feature this season is a "grey player", and no outfield players have "stolen" a penalty as a result of going for a hat-trick.

Jun 2052.

First Division. We're doing brilliantly and sit top of the table after 11 games, but we have just lost our best defender Landoaldo (Bal) and our best striker Nogueira (Bal) * has just been the subject of a £20M bid from PSG and a Chinese club which unfortunately matched his foreign club min release clause. He is still here but will be unlikely to add many more goals to the 100 that he has scored in 140 appearances for us.

5ef5405cfb3bb6844811f90fc5f9b107.png

I think it unlikely that we will be able to stay at the top, but our recent league finishes have been 7th, 5th, 7th & 5th, so breaking into the top 4 will be progress. Is that realistic? Not sure if I'm honest.

We have a new Board and they have removed all philosophies. I am attempting to add at least "develop players and bring them through the Academy".

They don't seem overly keen though.

Youth Intake Day. Sep 2052.

8094334cc38310eaf3b31f8f6d59cd49.png

A Generational Talent? Again, I'm yet to be convinced.

65b4014675200afd1842db45a722f143.png

I keep saying that as long as you get 1 players with 5.0 PA then it's a good intake, but this really doesn't feel like a good intake.

"Kriss" (52a) Adriano (Driven)(2052) *.

47f2d45b5a07a63989f6da3f8bb5cb06.png

He looks decent. better than decent in fact, but he's also 17 years old rather than 15 or 16 like many of the others in his intake. Isn't that cheating?

We know that is going to be the DL/WBL with the best PA, but where does he sit in terms of CA compared to other players able to play DL/WBL?

e446c206fcab323752f4840e1ac2a076.png

He's already the best DL/WBL at the club in terms of CA, (because Corrales (ARG) (F.Pro) * is a centre-half), but that's because Néstor (PAR) (F.Det) * was recently sold to Porto when his Foreign Club min fee release clause of £10M was met.

You might also notice that the "Kriss" from 2 years ago, (50a) Antônio (2050) (Unamb) * was also a left back, so while it's certainly an area of strength now, we could really have done with the "Kriss" coming through in a different position.

In fairness, though, Adriano(Driven)(2052)* has basically everything you'd want of a Youth Intake DL.

Yeah, he can't yet Dribble or Cross the ball well, but neither is far off double-digits, nor is the only essential Mental attribute that's lower than 10 (Composure).

A bit of targeted training and I'd say he's odds-on to be playing at one of the biggest European clubs within 5 years.

Yeah, fair point, but obviously that's dependant on what is PA is.

The problem is that while he might have 5.0 PA, the level against which he is being compared has dropped significantly because we have sold not only our best player in Nogueira (Bal) *, but also Néstor (PAR) (F.Det) * and wonderkid Toto (F.Loyal) * has also left and gone out on loan respectively. The end result of this is that the best player at the club in terms of CA is 19 year old (49a) Fininho (Bal) * was I have recently brought back to the club.

Our best CA player is still largely PA based.

Yeah, but his 2.5* rating is also judged against those same players and eye-balling him makes me reckon he's around 120-125 CA.

If he's got any potential to improve, he'll likely make rapid progress with his personality and if an AI club sees a player with good CA developing rapidly, they're likely to bite sooner rather than later.

I'd guesstimate his PA at being in the 150-160 range

I have no idea what his CA is never mind about what his PA might be.

I know that 200 is the max for both though.

If you are right and the European big-boys start sniffing around straight away, then I need to be prepared to lose him and be ready to plug that gap, even though I was quite happy with 18 year old  (50a) Antônio (2050) (Unamb) * in that position.

What I decided to do was to use a feature of the game that I hardly ever use. I went to (52a) Adriano (Driven)(2052) * and on his profile screen I clicked on "comparison" and then "Find Similar Players".

0ffd7e472667074aa10a87bc65982b79.png

It gives me 97 potential transfer targets to replace him with.

If I click on "interested in transfer", the number drops to 28 players.

The 28 players on the list really aren't good, (with the exception of the current Uruguayan  and Moroccan left backs), so let's untick players that are interested in transfer to bring us to 97 players.

There are some good players on the list again now, but only 2 that I have scouted before.

3bcacba659db74e868a82c19b5645d83.png

21 is a little old for my transfer targets. I really want to restrict signings to teenagers only.

If I filter the list of 97 players by lowest age then I get this.

170ddeccfa2c9a629237bbee8f1d45ea.png

There are 12 teenagers on the list and I will be scouting all of them, but I am particularly keen on looking at the two 15 year olds.

I will have to wait and see what the scouts find.

Jul, Aug & Sept 2052.

Apologies. There has been a bit of drunk management recently and as a result I have been playing and not updating. This will get us back up to date and normal service will now be resumed

First Division. We've only lost 2 league games in 3 months, (both 2-3 at home), but we have drawn 6 games during this period and even failed to score on 1 occasion

7bedb63838620612b06f4fc4f31c60bb.png

It's tight at the top and if we win our game in hand then we return to the top. There are only 10 games left so we are coming to the business ens of the decision. I didn't think that we would do this well this season, but I'm certainly not complaining.

Brazilian Cup. While I thought we weren't really in with a chance of winning the league, I had high hopes in this competition and was not happy at all to crash out at the Quarter-Final stage against a team below us in the league

Copa Libertadores. With the Argentina structure being added this season, this competition will only get harder to win, so it's sensible to give it a right go this season. We made no mistake against Chapecoense thus time and progressed comfortably 7-3 on aggregate and face giants Corinthians in the Semi.

Oct 2052.

First Division. We dropped 2 points against Cruzerio largely because of an early sending off but were were soundly beaten away to Internacional

We've dropped to 2nd place with just 6 games left and thankfully Palmeiras are one of the teams we still have to play, (and what's more we play them at home), so there is at least an opportunity to overhaul them.

Copa Libertadores. We take a 2 goal lead into the home leg of the Semi-Final and I'm hopeful that we can make our 1st Copa Libertadores Final.

Boca of Argentina hold a 3 goal lead after the away leg against Corinthians, so if we do make the Final, I expect it to be against Boca

First Division. We managed to beat our title rivals Palmeiras, but then we went and dropped 2 points in the last game against Sport Club do Recife. I rested the squad for the Sport game

Copa Libertadores. I rested the whole team, (except GK), for the Sport game, but as well as dropping points in that game, we still lost the Final. :(

Dec 2052.

First Division. We dropped 2 point in the last game of the season and I was about to post that it has cost us the league title, but we have somehow lost the league by 3 points and I didn't think that was possible after we beat Palmeiras in the head-to-head last month. After further investigation, although we did beat Palmeiras 3-2 last month, we also drew the next game which means that we dropped 2 lots of 2 points, (so 4 points in total), and only took 3 points off Palmeiras. They in turn have won the other 7 of their last 8 games meaning that they are Brazilian First Division Champions for the 3rd successive year, (and for the 5th time in 8 years).

I'm honestly stunned. I can't believe that we have choked and lost both the Copa Libertadores and the League title. :(

Wonderkid update. Dec 2052.

Nogueira (Bal) * went to PSG for £20M and has since been loaned back to Flamengo in Brazil.

Néstor (PAR) (F.Det) * went to Porto for £10M and the teenager now has 20 Paraguayan Caps and has made his debut in the Portugese Premier League, The Champions League, The Portugese Cup and the League Cup.

Bodão (F.Pro) * is our 1st choice GK and is wonderkid #4.

(49a) Fininho (Bal) * is our 1st choice striker and although we sold him to Porto for £4.9M, I had to pay £19M to get him back again, (although I think I got half of that money back).

Bruno (F.Pro) * is one of my 2nd pairing of strikers and wonderkid #5. He still made 20(21) appearances this season so he's getting enough game-time.

Álvarez (COL) (Merc) * is a back-up GK and the teenager who is wonderkid #6 in his 3rd spell out on loan.

(50b) Buiú (Pro) * is our 1st choice left-sided central midfielder, (who is played as a DLP. He is wonderkid #7

It's great that we now have 2 that are products of our Academy. I will be doing everything I can to keep them at the club. The others might be moved on if either the price is right, or I have better options coming through the system.

Summary

I decided to merge 4 months of updates into 1 update because quite simply we should be winning all these games.

Bodão (F.Pro) * has scored 10 goals this season, (7 penalties and 3 free-kicks), but he has also missed 2 penalties.

(49c) Jackson (Bal) has scored 1 penalty from 2 appearances.

Alexandro (F.Det) * scored 1 penalty and 1 free-kick in 4 appearances while Bodão (F.Pro) * was on International duty before leaving on loan.

Bodão (F.Pro) * has scored 10 goals, but he also missed 2 penalties bringing the potential goals up to 12 at this stage. 4 outfield players scored penalties in the act of completing a hat-trick, so that's up to 16. Other GK's have scored 3 goals between them this season so that beings us up to 19 potential goals. We still have a LOT of games still to play.

The above picture states that Bodão (F.Pro) * was the 3rd highest goal-scorer in the Acre State Championship with just 1 goal, but he actually scored 10 goals from 19 shots in 10 appearances. As (49c) Jackson (Bal) scored 1 goal from 2 appearances in this competition and Alexandro (F.Det) * scored 2 goals in 4 appearances, he should really have scored 13 goals even if we ignore any penalties that he missed.
