went with the lenovo z510

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/59405975-Lenovo-Z510_1536146.html#DetailTop

its went up by about £40, since monday!

hi folks,

forgive my ignorance on such things but seeing as I have a lovely new shiny laptop, which will mostly be used for FM15, net surfing and the occasional film. is it worth getting an ssd drive to put fm15 on it? or do I not need it as seeing the only game I would play on it is fm 15 (and maybe 12).

Littlewoods do

On this laptop your payment options would be

http://www.littlewoods.com/acer-vn7-591g-intelreg-coretrade-i7-processor-8gb-ram-1tb-hard-drive-8gb-solid-state-drive-wi-fi-156-inch-with-2gb-dedicated-graphics-laptop-black/1438673780.prd

With a Littlewoods Account you can spread the cost to suit you. Select from the following payment options at checkout.

£9.26 per week - over 156 weeks (39.9% APR). Total £1445.11

£12.02 per week - over 104 weeks (39.9% APR). Total £1250.46

£17.29 per week - over 52 weeks Interest free (0.0% APR)

£44.95 per week - over 20 weeks Interest free (0.0% APR)

It's an excellent laptop and £10 a week is nothing over 3 years would be perfect - I'd estimate this laptop would last you about 6 years.

Giving you plenty of time to save for your laptop for FM 2020

SSD will improve load and save times of your game.

If your operating system is on the SSD then you experience faster boot times (turning the computer on or rebooting).

This totally irrelevant to those who want a perfect condition laptop, but is helpful to those who are on a budget. Look at the amazon warehouse deals, now and again a bargain will come up. If you're after performance over cosmetics then i suggest going there.

I see someone got Z510 i got the exact same specs for £140 cheaper. Cash back not included it's a hell of a lot more.

Also - Black Friday is coming up - probably get a bargain there.

Hi, i'm fairly clueless with regards to the specs of a laptop but need a new one. The problem is I only have about £450 available now, an everything I can find in that range has this U

processor that we are told to avoid. So why is this so important to avoid in regards to playing fm, and has anyone got anything they can recommend in that range?

Thanks.

http://www.ebuyer.com/666608-hp-pavilion-15-laptop-k1r59ea-abu This would run the game, though i'm not a fan of amd processors.

http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/59416543-Lenovo-G500_1657706.html This would be decent, intel processor and amd GPU.

Personally i'm staying way from amd processors from now on.

You'd just about manage it, i'd save for a bit. Get a better processor.

Yeah because the game is processor heavy. So it's the processor that is the main problem with those specs.

It's not a bad processor - somewhere around a 2nd gen i3 would be equivalent.

You'd want a better processor for FM though.

Ebuyer do, though I'm a student so they don't do it for me. I was looking and it seemed quite fair to me. Laptops direct do too, though there's were in less instalments.

Don't know about 3D engineering but will handle fm with ease.

After comparing to other websites that one is actually only around £50 in savings. Obviously they are going off of the high RRP.

UlV processors are not that bad, my laptop currently has a i7 4500u and it runs FM pretty well (50k players with 7 nations with 2.5 stars game speed).

I'm trying to stay around the $300 mark. I basically am just going to use it for schoolwork and possibly FM as my PC will suffice for everything else. When you say it will barely run FM, is it worth putting it on there or will it stuff up the laptop. I don't really care if it's a little bit slow as it is on my PC anyway.

Hi guys,

This is pretty good.

But if you replace your hard drive you also have to replace your Operating system. You can clone your hard drive to the ssd

Hi Eugene,

I should of said , I was thinking on the lines of an external one that I can plug in. Each time I look on Amazon at them, you get some decent reviews and then boom, you get a one star view saying its slower than a hard drive.

Well everyone has a different setup - it's probably that user has it plugged in to a USB 1.0 port which would bottle neck it, where as if they plugged it into a USB 3.0 port it would be a lot faster.

Stick with good makes like Samsung, Verbatim etc. and make sure you have a USB 3.0 port and that the SSD is USB 3.0 compatible.

Hi Eugene

Would it be ok with 3D match engine turned off and only a few leagues (England/Spain/Italy/Germany)?

This would struggle to play 3d graphics - try them in lowest quality, if it's ok then up each one individually to get the max performance.

Great thanks. I can always play with the 2D engine or text only.

I'm more worried about the game speed.

Game speed will not be great, play with few leagues for better experience.
