Westernbulldog Posted October 24, 2018 Share Posted October 24, 2018 Introduction Hi there, my name is Andy, I'm new to the forum, even though i have been lurking for quite some time. Reading through some stories and watching some youtubers, I decided to have a go at my own career updates. There will be one update a week, playing touch, i don't have a great deal of time on my hands, but will try and play when i can. Objective I will manage in every continent (as depicted by fm19), finishing in Europe and taking over Liverpool. I won't have any set rules. I will try and win every continents 'champions league', but i want to have fun and manage in countries I've never managed before. There is no league three, so if i cannot survive, i will be sacked!!! I have fourteen games at least and I believe have some money available to spend, so will see what i can do. Wish me luck...... This is the moment, in our penultimate game, where we secured survival, IN THE 92nd MINUTE!!!!! Cue the wild celebrations................. In the end, six points ahead. My record was, Won 5 Drew 5 Lost 4. Not bad for first half of the season in this game. I guess, since we're not in stage two, no more games for quite a while. Oh, we did manage to reach the 4th round of the Indonesian cup (we did start in the 1st round). Each round had two legs, which was quite handy as most of the league games, were two weeks apart. But, my players couldn't handle two games in one week, so a lot of rotating! Next season, i want to finish in the top four and head to the next stage, aiming for promotion in the next two seasons. Annoyingly, i got rid of 3/4 of my team due to contracts running out and i felt the team needed a major rebuild. So, as i'm trying to sign players, the board cut my budget!!! So frustrating. Couldn't sign half the players i wanted. Get this, every contract i offer, has to expire in July !! The season is April to November, surely they should expire in December?? Maybe a bug getting fixed in the patch? Anyway, on with the season. I'm aiming to finish top 4 and into the second phase........ Ok, so expected to finish down the bottom. That won't happen!!! A great start to the season. Very happy with how the games played out! More of this please...... Frustrating is the word. Should have had a couple of wins here..... Woah..easy people. No wins in three and they jump all over you!! Well at least we got a win. Draws are better than defeats, right?? Not a bad start. I feel a couple of those draws, should of been wins. But we're in the mix.... One game in the league......another draw!!! The cup, i played my second team. Not too bothered about being out. This is more like it, though that home defeat was bad! I like how it thinks 1/9 is in august!!! Unbeaten in September. Couple of draws again. Considering only 22 games, i think we need to start winning more.... Yep, those draws are starting to hurt us a little bit. We're still in a good position. 6 games left, can we get a few more wins...... Er, no...more draws!! How frustrating, we should have won all three... At the moment, those draws are really hurting us. We probably should be at least 3rd by now. Big three games coming up. Playing 3rd and 4th, but first bottom of the league....... Yeah.....this is how FM screws you. First shot on target 92nd minute for the winner..................................Must win now..... I think my team just gave up!!! We've been so good all season and then just throw it away............. In the end, disappointed!! That draw column, if only, if only!!!! Onto next season. Will see if they raise or cut my budget. Will have to try and get rid of some players as they are all contracted until july 2020 at least now, to bring in some new blood. Thats if there are any free transfers!!!! If we don't get close to promotion or promoted itself next season, maybe move on?? Will see how it all goes. This came out of the blue, Persela are in league one! I'm not going to lie, i'm very tempted here. A chance to jump up a division. I'm not going to apply for the job though, I do want to give Persiba another go for a season. I wonder if they would come and offer me the job? Doesn't happen often in FM, in my experience anyway. I did pick the top option though!!! Glad the board still support me. It's interesting to see that Persela could comfortably settle compensation in order to get me. Am i wanted??? Now this is getting very interesting! Persela fans want me. I don't think i've done much so far to warrant it, but it's exciting anyway. Are Persela going to offer me the job? I have not applied for it at all. This bit of news is not good reading. Only the winner of league one goes into Asian champions league and thats just the second preliminary round!!! I guess the confed cup is like the euro cup? Maybe i can try and fix that for Indonesian football??? I have been offered the job! A much better wage budget, step up to league one. Very Very tempting................. Yeah i took it. A chance to compete for continental qualification straight away. Granted, not one of the best teams, 15k stadium, where others have 20-30k stadiums. They did just come 7th in the league and look very promising. My goal will be to compete for a top three spot straight away. Difficult as i cannot really strengthen my team, due to hardly any free transfers available. Will have to wait for end of june when everyones contracts run out. Good chance to evaluate my team.... Not a good sign to start off with. more likely to be relegated than top three apparently! No groups or anything like that in League one. eighteen teams, bottom four relegated. Lets hope we get off to a good start...... Some good showings in the friendlies, but a great start to the campaign, getting an away win and a clean sheet!!! Started the month off well, but two home defeats is not good. We were better than the scorelines suggest, but still... Still, we're not in a bad position, early days..... We have lost four in a row at home now. Couple of great results away, but still worrying...... We finally won at home, have conceded four in a few games now. But, it's end of contract time!!! half the team has been released. The players i managed to sign, were not really of better quality. A lot of good players didn't want to come as they were 'concerned' about our league record. That's fair enough i guess..... Nothing spectacular. I wonder are we a mid league team or can the signings i made help us move up the table?? Well, those signings haven't helped us at home i guess! Away we're doing pretty well. Cup has started, so rotating a lot now.... Six points off third. If we can't improve at home, might struggle to achieve top half. I've added a couple of games here to show how we are actually doing. Dominating possession and shots is what's happening 90% of the games, but we are not finishing well and certainly not defending as well as i want. 29 shots and only 9 on target? More good news....... Let's hope it doesn't come down to that.... Ten points from six games. Thats not too bad and we finally get a score at home worthy of our play. That home defeat is concerning still. Still mid table and eight points off third. 2/2 for September, which is great and progressing in the cup, even though rotating full team!! A nice bit of form coming into the end of the season. Maybe a little too late?? My first award!!!! Though those two defeats to teams above us hurt a bit... But we're into the cup semi finals!!! But we are right back in it! Three points off third, 5 games to go. We really need to win all of them i fear. But can we?? A near perfect month, apart from that one defeat, in which we were poor!!! But a Cup Final for us!!!! Shame you cannot qualify for continental competitions from the cup, but a chance at silverware and maybe enhance my reputation!! Wow, so close!!!! There is one more game to go. We have to win and hope Arema drop points. They are home to 2nd place Sriwijaya, so there is hope! We need to win away, can we................ Nope is the answer. A poor display as well.... Arema drew too! Another season of what if!!! Cup Final day!!! We are playing the league champions and we lost both games during the season to them. I'm not getting my hopes up. Get in!!!! I've managed to spend some money on some defenders. We had a nice wage budget and since, no free players available, I converted wage funds into transfer funds. Lets hope it bolsters my defence.... Onto pre season predictions..... Thats fine with me. I'm surprised league champions, Madura are so low, i think they are better than Bali. Well this was a surprise game. I had no idea they held the super cup. Very happy to win it though!!! Let's hope we get a good start to the league Well, that was not good at all. Ok we lost to three good teams, expected to do better than us. But, we dominated every game and should have more points. I'm worrying again about the defence. A much better month for us. Except for the home defeat, where we could not score for toffee, we're starting to show how good we really are. I'd hoped we would be in a better position, but it's still early days and hope to continue our unbeaten streak. But we have to beat the teams above us and they have started strongly. Quick question though (as I am a newbie), how do I go about starting a journeyman in touch? I see a lot of articles for the full version but non for touch. Any help would be appreciated.
