The most awkward over the years was in FM 17 and training Kane to be a SS, as it took a season. There are a few training tips in thread. Only Green for position not role . If you have a talented AML then train for ML. When you look at MR/L roles the players show as not suitable. When you look at instructions for DW and AML the PIs can be same. Another I use is WULF 4231 P102 ECCC and this one has good results against 4-3-3. This also has very good defensive record I just conceded 5 goals in 22 games When i need to score i use 4-3-3 with 3 strikers. For me i dont think i could have done this with the 4132. I had that one at Bremen, a much better team and did about the same. Sympathy VOL2 used. I will try the same with the PL team exp to finish last now. The only thing i did was switch to positive mentality when facing some weak teams in my home, as somehow attacking lead to some 0-0 draws in another test. Well im not saying its amazing, im just saying i got it to work a lot over expectations. I`ll try it one more time in the PL with poorest team. If you try left foot on right wing and right on left it doesnt work nearly as good, a bit strange since its inverted winger. Does concede a lot if you dont have great defenders. But you score more. Sympathy did better but both got me in top 4 but nowhere near winning the league. ~80 points both, lots of draws. Both times with transfers(Dybala, Pogba, Ruben Dias, Ajer) :/ I don't know how you people are winning so much. I get destroyed by "bigger teams" like Man City, Liverpool, etc and draw plenty with low tier teams. Winning PL with Tottenham seems impossible in the first season. I just give Sympathy v2 a chance with 2. Bundesliga Club VfB Stuttgart and until now its doing well. But i would love a tactic with two strikers, AML AMC AMR one DM and FBL two CB and FBR which is working with nice gameplay but nothing found until now. Started with a 2-0 win over Wolves away, and then this beauty. Signed a left back, as had only one. 2 right midfielders as the squad had none, and a younger defender.
