Have you played with Instant results?

CUP games up to semi-final because i don`t care about the cup

Some LEAGUE games against the poor teams like Brescia, SPAL, Verona, Parma, Cagliari...

OI to ass man

Training:

Against poor teams i go with Attacking and Tactical training one week before the game

Against good teams i go with Defending/Balanced

Hey, i saw you post with regards to your Bresica save which is tearing Serie A apart. You use the same tactics for home and away and just tweak the instruction for tough away games?

yes! that exactly. bare in mind we had a little blip. Jan came and Balotelli wanted a new contract i couldn't afford and Tonali wanted to go to a bigger club...when the window shut, Tonali was happy to stay but Balotelli (a team leader) is still unhappy so im getting mixed results right now haha very frustrating

Any experimenting with CBs on Shoot Less Often?

I started checking out the sources of my shots and sometimes my CBs are having 15+ combined attempts. I'm sure headers are included BUT looking at the shot map it's normally half at least from outside the box!

i've never noticed that....thing is, that can be down to the mentality on attacking. People must not forget, not all the time your players will follow your PI instruction closely because of team instructions/mentality.

example, i always have my DLP to pass shorter, generally he will do this. but as the mentality is attacking, i will have players making runs off the ball and that almost forces my DLP to play the more risky pass (also because its a default PI) but pass shorter and play risky passes can give a mix....a CB with shoot less often doesn't mean he will not shoot, most times he will look to hold on to it and look for a pass or dribble, but as you are on attacking, he will shoot more than normally if in the position.

so now, i'm thinking, would a CB that has "stay back at all times" and "looks for pass rather than shoot" be good for these tactics? hmmm

do you mean as player traits ?

yeah maybe "stay back at all times" and "look for pass rather than shot" will reduce the number...but when are they shooting? is it after a set piece or during your teams build up? it could be the case of a set piece, the ball comes outside the area, and lands to your player, and from there, i think most players will shoot

Interesting, I believe the team hierarchy plays a part? havent got far in FM20, but in FM19 i got rid alot of deadwoord players from my squad who happened to be highly influential player and they affected the my team for a while.

Okay. so i decided to look more into "floated crosses" and in to "opposition instructions" and so far, these are some results of it. Against both Manchester teams, my goals came from set piece and through passes.

using Fire and Water 4321 but the 20.4.0 version

20200421125300_1.thumb.jpg.c702e1f91e5fe355888f1cc18ffcb23d.jpg20200421130807_1.thumb.jpg.35ed017a7d25fc364c5292d379e1bf6e.jpg20200421125250_1.thumb.jpg.b0584c37455f024ef6e63d2413207cf2.jpg

OI - so far, i identify the key man and use the OI on him.

here, Grealish is a very good dribbler so my OI was set tackling to normal. My TI is tackling hard and he can ride these challenges.

Here is Joao Pedro, his player trait was "does not dive into tackles", he has been their key player so i put tackle on hard on his OI

Floated crosses - Match against West Ham - as you can see, all 3 goals came from crosses, 1 mentioned floated cross, but my crosses were going far post to the free man

20200421112755_1.thumb.jpg.0ad8d0ddce1fbc74085d5221cfdcb929.jpg20200421112740_1.thumb.jpg.5869bdd91b514926b19fdb430b9be5fa.jpg20200421112730_1.thumb.jpg.f9a72935330277fb758136c5185b92bf.jpg

Heres my report against Brighton, who just like West Ham, played 5 at the back, so maybe we are exploiting that.

I have a Spurs save so will have a lokk later

my wide midfielders score most the goals from far post crosses. my full backs and wide midfielders get the assist from it...i removed my wide players from set pieces so they don't get assists that way

20200421131749_1.thumb.jpg.15d1a6cdf82b76b0cd51fb3e618e12e4.jpg

best crossing completed and completion ration, created most chances, best shot on target ratio

I am determined to get a save working with Toulouse but can't seem to get going. Do either of you have a stand out underdog tactic? They are predicted to finish 18th but they have some good younger players so they have potential.  If I can get a solid tactic I think I can get going with better in-game management and more attention to training.

The French on line game used Toulouse and it was an Oxford tactic

I wonderd about that but they do not really have any natural AM's.  Clearly it works regardless.  Maybe I am too hung up on players "natural" positions?

Sorry to jump on the late bandwagon guys. Just wondered can anyone recommend a tactic for Man United. I tried to 442 Venom but just been thrashed 4-1 away to Bournmouth. Just cant seem to defend. Not sure whether to change or what?

i guess you create different chances. I'm not implying this is more effective than original. but it creates different chances, so you may have different types of players better for different situations. Low crosses will still work with Tottenham, with 2 AMs with good off the ball and ST with good off the ball

i too have won the league using low crosses, but i'm giving people different alternatives that can work just as well. Specially before they start saying the tactic doesn't work, without trying out things to make it work

what about if we just put it on mixed then ?

you should have good crossers who make good decisions...at the moment i'm Tottenham and don't have the best crossers. Asking them to do something very technical might not work. Also i have Kane, not the best acceleration so don't want players whipping crosses if he can't react to it quick enough. that is my theory

Would be nice to see a few people post some results tactics with teams outside the top 4 and especially in premiere league.

I have just started a leeds utd save in the 3rd season after winning the league with spurs .

Going to use the 4321fireandwater20.4.1

And 4312 and see gow it goes.

LEEDS are predicted to finish 17th having stayed up first season and i changed crosses to floated crosses and got in all 15+Fitness coaches and specific training as advised from.before .......wish me Luck 🤣🤞15874796846422072463276.thumb.jpg.f0a7ea70b63aaa59c9c600f9de176504.jpg

Which OIs are you using

at the moment it varies. most i look for in opponents is bad traits, like "does not dive into tackles" or "dwells on ball"...most teams won't have that so then i look for the creative player, so like Grealish, good dribbler and flair so i put tackle on "normal". Mac Allister for brighton was their creative player, he has "tries killer ball" and "shoot from distance" as player trait but bravery was on 10 so i put pressing on "always" and tackle "hard"

the LFC match i had OI on Mane, had tackle "normal", he was their highest AVG rated player. City match i had tackle "normal" on Sterling, simply because of his dribbling and pace

don't really know the effect its having, if any at all but the only player thats had a good match is Mane, but not much anyone can do about that

Here, i noticed Meyer and Townsend have most assists sign next to their name...i figured there weak posts. Meyer has low Bravery, Determination, Flair and Balance. as he's their key man in the middle, i have pressing "always". Townsend has "moves ball to left football before dribble" so i put "show on to right foot"

it was Meyer who passed the ball to Townsend and he lost the ball, we countered and scored within 1st 15mins
