@optimusprimal82: I think this is worse than your "always away" draws...

Ouch, unlucky! I expect to see a table in all of your posts now detailing how many times you've drawn Barca! Maybe they'll become your equivalent of Man City for me - a team I seem to draw every possible competition? :D

I will! :p

But seeing as this is the first time I have the possibility of drawing both them and Bayern, I'd say the percentage is 100 at the moment.

Croatian Second League 2019/20

Cibalia, is a Croatian football club from the town of Vinkovci in eastern Croatia.  The clubs nickname is Nebesko plavi (The Sky-blues). Anyone that has played in Croatia may recoginse the name and that is because until 2018 they were in the top flight but got relegated directly to the 3rd division due to financial problems. Their highest ever finish is 3rd and they won the Yugoslavian Cup in 1975 apart from that there are no major honours. At the time of reloading I was actually looking at a different side (can't remember who now tbh as it's taken about 3 weeks to get this far due to a busy few weeks :D ) but nobody else but these came up and I was both bored of reloading and adament I wanted to manage in Croatia :D

A great first season as we snatched the title on the final day against Dinamo II with 2 goals 89+ minutes in to the game after rarely topping the table during the season due to their slightly better GD but as you can see until that final game we were identical on everything in terms of wins, draws and defeats and with Dinamo II winning the title last season too their reserves must be exceptional for this level as like us they were well ahead of the rest of league.

Apologies for lack of info during the season but I actually started this game on the way back from Hong Kong a few weeks ago and a lot of this was done on the plane and as I said i've been busy since so was never sure if I could get back in to it until I loaded up today tbh as i've not managed a whole season on any save so far on FM19 :D But after loading up today I've enjoyed going back to the save and hopefully with a few additions next season we can survive and I can have a proper go at this now I have the time to play a bit more.

Youth Intake Musa - Krstanovic - Zaja - Cubel

Promising intake there, not world beaters by any means but highly rated by staff so they have been given contracts and we'll see how they develop.

Croatian First League - June - December 2020/21

Transfers - Pasalic - Horvat - Vajdovic - Curic - Fiolic - Bagaric

Table

Considering the board only wanted us to reach the relegation playoff I have to be delighted with the start to the season as we have a big gap between us and 9th. A lot of this is down to new signing Fiolic who has 14 in 16 games and Vajdovic with 7 assists in 20 so far. We do need improvements in the back 4 especially at full back I feel and I promoted promising keeper Ivic who was in the squad when I took charge but was unable to play due to his age so i've got to also be a bit paitent with him though he is already our best keeper.

The only 2 bad performances this season has been losing 5-2 at Hajduk where we made it easy for them after taking an early lead but that wasn't as bad as the 5-1 defeat at Osijek in the 1st round of the cup a few days later where it was poor from back to front, maybe if the performances had been a couple of weeks apart I wouldn't have even given it a 2nd thought considering we are new at this level but as it was back to back it does tend to stick in the memory more but overall we've done really well including holding Hajduk 1-1 at home in the 1st game of the season and then 1-1 home to Dinamo a few weeks later and recently drawing 3-3 there.

For the rest of the season i'm happy finishing around this position and i'm certainly not expecting us to be any higher but I would think we've done enough not t get caught up in the relegation scrap from here.

Croatian First League - Winter Break 2020/21a

Transfers - Goda - Copec - Culina - Spoljaric - Bozkurt

Happy with the window bringing in young players that are mostly homegrown and apart from Culina are roughly the same or slightly better level than what we have so they will get plenty of chances in the 2nd half of the season. Goda, Copec and Bozkurt werefree agents in the summer hence the lowish fees, I felt we needed them now and with £1.8M in the bank spending now wasn't too much of a problem especially if they make an impact now.

Spoljaric is slightly older and will take up the AMC position as we were in need of an upgrade there as Mate Bajic who holds that position has misleading stats with 6 of his 8 goals being from the spot and only has 2 assists. I actually tried to sign Spoljaric in the summer but he wasn't interested back then but by November with no other club in for him he agreed to join.

In what's been a busy break I also got a few upgrades to facilities - Youth Recruitment - Data - Youth Coaching These are my first improvements to facilities after being rejected in the past so very happy to make a start on that and may look at improving youth facilities towards the end of the season depending where we are in terms of finance and if I feel the money would be better spent on the squad as I do want another winger and possible CM at least, but i'm hopeful of doing those on Bosmans as we've been able to scout all Europe this season so with 3 scouts allowed i've been able to concentate on South, East and Central Europe.

This is my first FM since FM15 so I have a question in terms of scouting in this challenge... Occassionaly in scouting updates players from outside my scouting range have come up in suggested targets, it says I can do this for a fee (think it was £1-2k) I haven't took this option yet as I meant to ask if this is within the rules or not as they can be scouted but outside of where my scouts can freely go.

Croatian First League January - June 2020/21

Table

Squad Overview

A stronger than expected first season in the top flight with European football to add curtosy of Osijek winning the Croatian Cup. In all honesty I would rather not hve had Europe but finacially it will help a bit at least though we are sitting on £3.5M thanks to getting £1.3M from a sell on clause so we are far from poor in that regard. In the window i'll be looking at mainly a RB and CM but nothing is arranged atm though I will take the loan route if needed.

Youth Intake

Prpic

Maric

Spehar

Another decent intake, probably better than last years in terms of abilty it's just a shame we can't play under 17's in this division as i'd have given them a few games/sub apperances.

Reasonably happy with the start to the season especially getting through to the Europa group but felt the 2 league defeats could have been avoided. The Europa group is obviously tough and not expecting points from it but we'll have a go as financially being in there has obviously given us a big boost over the course of the summer. Disappointed with the lack of ins but wages were the stumbling block for the couple of RB's I did try to get in.

Bit of a strange season so far, when we're on it we're almost unstoppable as highlighted by wins against Fiorentia and Wolfsburg but we've lost far too many stupid games and though there has been rotation throughout the season i've not gone overboard with the changes so it's a bit of a mystery how this continues to happen. Our reward for getting out of the group is a huge tie against AC Milan so we'll just do what we've done in Europe so far and give it our best shot, we're not expected to win but at least I know we can give them a game if our attitude is right.

Managed some more upgrades to the youth coaching and recruitment and now we have over £10M in the bank i'll look to do something with the youth and training facilities later in the season too.

Great start to the new year with the obvious highlight being the win in Milan which is without a doubt the most unexpected and best result of the save so far. The reward for that is a tie against Brugge which cnsidering the teams we've already beaten is certainly winable even though we aren't the favourites.

The youth intake only produced 1 player of note but what a player the lad is at his age already, i'm gutted about the U17 rule as he'd be getting some games straight away if it wasn't for that restriction, I know 3rd division sides can play U17 as I loaned a few out last year so if I can get him out for next season I certainly will as it'll be better for his development even if AI controlled.

Baraban's pretty spectacular. Good enough to be first choice for me in the Bundesliga next season, but then Germany actually has U17 rules too...

Really happy with the improvement in terms of league position, 4th to 2nd is a reasonable jump especially as I feel we're still short at LB (or was as I have a signing lined up for the summer). The Europa run was something I never dreamed of, i'm disappointed we lost in the way we did to Inter after bringing home a 2-0 lead but we had no right to get that far so it levels itself out really. My other concern is the amount of goals we concede but then again our oldest defenders from the starting XI are 21, the keeper is 19 and our oldest outfield player is 23 so hopefully it's something that will improve year on year.

Given that we were so close to winning the league (without actually topping it for any reasonable period of time) I would hope we are nearly there now and with a few new faces for the 1st team and a stronger depth of squad a lot of the silly results will also start to die down.

I can't wait until March next season to get him playing, he's growing reasonably well as it is and would be starting plenty of games for me now if he could.

making some good progress @Dexter Morgan - that title can't be too far off now.  Good progress in Europe too.  Hopefully you'll be able to keep that young back line together for a few seasons yet.  Dolencic-Fiolic looks to be a VERY promising young stiker too.  Good luck keeping hold of him...

An amazing start for us unbeaten domestically and in Europe with plenty of goals scored giving us a huge lead already in the league which will come in handy later in the season with a cramped year due to the World Cup in December. The new signings have settled in really well especially Gyenge. Pereira wasn't a planned signing but I made a mistake getting Vajdovcic mixed up with Vardanyan somehow and didn't realise until an offer came in his contract was due to expire and he accepted that :mad::D Kitanovic seems the ideal full back for this level and finally instead of using CB's that can do a job there (though they did do well in fairness) we have a specialised one and hopefully that will in both ends of the pitch.

Finally over the summer this was huge news and is mostly down to our Europa run so at least even if we don't win the title this year there is still something to aim for.

Cheers @rlipscombe we've made good progress in a short amount of time but with the club being a former top division side and good facilities in place already plus the financial side being comfortable all the time I had a brilliant base to start from to begin with.  I'm lucky with Fiolic as he has a £25M release clause so at least he can't be snapped up for cheap, in fact most of the squad who have had contract renewals all have clauses £16M+ which at least means we won't get robbed as i've set all offers under that to be rejected for the time being, obviously if players want to move then I'm not really going to have much chance of keeping them but they won't be going cheap either as I already lost a talent to Dinamo in my first season due to this and he's doing well there now.

A brilliant start to the season continued as we top the league comfortably and only ourselves can throw it away now, comfortable progression in the Europa League is also a highlight dispite a dodgy start and we will face Shkendija in the next round.

Something that has pleased me just as much as the results and goals scored is the huge reduction on those conceded. I haven't actually tweaked anything in terms of the tactic but it seems as the players get more experience they are cutting the mistakes out.

We finally lost a league game but it hasn't affected us and it's just a matter of when we get the title now as even though i'm usually caucious it's too big a lead to lose. I got stitched up with losing Goda and Mauricio in the window especially Mauricio as I couldn't get a replacement in time to register for Europe  The board accepted both offers above my head so obviously I'm not too happy considering we are far from skint. Bringing in Valdes for the league at least means we have a player roughly as good as Mauricio but long term I certainly need a replacement for Goda though I decided to leave that until the summer as I want this season over and done with. I've been trying to sign Klaric for about 18 months maybe even longer and not had problems getting his club to agree a fee but he has always signed a new contract with his former side instead so glad to have finally got him as he's a real long term talent by the looks of things.

As expected we managed to see the season out and become champions with 8 games remaining with the players mostly being at a high level, I would have liked to break the 100 goal barrier but having to rotate so often with a long Europa campaign was probably what stopped that happening but obviously silverware is the main objective so can't complain too much really.

In terms of next season then obviously we have CL football to contend with so a step up in quality but i'd be happy if we made the group stage this year even if we don't make too much waves in it as the money for that is a lot bigger than playing more games in the Europa and getting the training and youth facilities to the maximum is something I keep wanting to work on.

In terms of players i've lined up a deal for a CB on a Bosman who is arguably better than Goda, i'll be releasing those who's contract is expiring and sell a winger and CM and promote Maric and Baraban plus Klaric will return from his loan spell and will feature more as I try and keep a mostly Croatian side. The problem with homebased players is that I can buy certain ones from the bigger sides but the funds aren't there to do so, Rijeka quoted me £29M for their young (but very talented) CB which obviously wouldn't happen in real life but we're a few years away from being able to offer that sort of money yet so in terms of Croatians we're relying on smaller clubs having gems like Klaric or producing them ourselves and while we've had a lot of good ones so far we can't rely on our own system each year so I do fear we may hit a buffer in terms of domestic talent in the near future.

He's another one that could have got games straight away if he was older :D Luckily with Culina and Fiolic i'm ok in that position but having homegrown youngsters in the side has always been how I play. After i'm done with Cibalia I'll be looking at a league with a few less restrictions and do either a youth only or can only buy players 16 and under asit's taken this challenge to finally get in to FM19 so will do another one elsewhere and be a bit stricter with transfers.

I decided to have another crack at Stockholm Internazionale as I really enjoyed my last game... until I got sacked. Having had two games as Scarborough on Dafuge challenges and my game as Stockholm previously, I have decided there was a fundamental flaw in my tactic. In each game I got promoted once or twice but then hit a point where I struggled and ended up sacked. The problem was I think that I was playing a very aggressive formation with a high press. This worked fine when we were the stronger team and saw some impressive promotions but crashed and burned after a couple of seasons.

I held off posting updates until I was sure the tactic was working and that I wasn't going to get sacked again. I've therefore got a few updates to post which I'll do in quick succession.

Squad

Transfers

Overview

No promotion in my first season but for ten games of the 26 game season we were absolutely dominant. We were unbeaten at the end of June with a commanding lead at the top of the table and still massive favorites for the title at the end of July. Form disintegrated however and four defeats and four draws followed. We not only were overturned at the top of the table but saw the playoffs disappear out of view.

Recruitment was difficult due to only a small number of players being released by the bigger clubs. This should improve next season and a shot at the title shouldn’t be out of the question.

Key Players

Marcus Kettler – A 1k signing from Karlberg, Kettler scored 15 goals as a number 10.

Jesper Jornvik – The versatile winger counts Orgryte and GAIS amongst his former clubs. Scored 10 goals from left wing.

Overview

Promotion was assured in our second season with the championship tied up with a seven point margin. This was despite a terrible start to the season where we lost our first home game. After this however we won the following eight games and form barely let up from there.

We have a solid team with enough decent players for a crack at promotion again next season.

Johan Arvidsson – The wingers were the star of the show and the ex-Kalmar man added 7 goals and 9 assists.

Transfers

Overview

Another title means another promotion. This one however was not as easy as the last. We were up against a team in Landskrona who ran us close right to the end. Despite remaining unbeaten for the second half of the season Landskrona managed a similar run of form and always remained within a step of us. They managed to win their final six games while we drew two games meaning a tense last couple of games of the season.

Next season will be the big challenge. The step up to the Superettan cost me my job in my previous attempt as Stockholm. I will be without my star left winger Julio Cesar as I hadn’t notice he was out of contract at the end of the season until he signed a pre-contract agreement to return to his Brazilian homeland.

Key Players

Julio Cesar – Scored 21 goals in 30 games from the left wing but will leave at the end of the season on a free.

Tim Soderstrom – Signed in July and scored 10 goals in the final 13 games of the season.

Superettan – 2022 – 13th

Squad

Transfers

Overview

It was a hard first season in the Superettan but relegation was avoided. For a little while we put together form that looked like we would even avoid a relegation playoff but defeat on the final day away at Norrby saw us slip into 13th spot an a relegation playoff. Trolhatten were dispatched fairly easily in the relegation playoff however with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.

We were able to bring in some decent players at the start of the season with all but one positions replaced. Defensively we were solid but we struggled with key attacking positions however. Upfront we were blunt with Ludvig Fritzon our top scorer with 5 goals. On the wings we also struggled, Piotr Johansson was okay on the right but I went through a succession of players on the left with little success.

Hopefully now we can push on and next season will be easier. I’m not counting on a run at promotion yet but mid-table would do me fine.

Key Players

Sixton Mohlin – ex-Mjallby goalkeeper signed on a free and did well.

Arvid Brorsson – Signed from Djurgarden, Brorsson was the pick of a solid defence.

Good to see you back @Andrew Haines and to see your progress with Stockholm.  Hopefully your survival in the Superettan will be the boost you need and that you strengthen and push up the league next season.  A solid defence is always a good starting point and hopefully you will be able to add the attacking threat this season.

Superettan – 2023 – 1st

Squad

Transfers

Overview

Promoted to the top flight in our second season in the Superettan. I wasn’t expecting promotion, especially as champions. I hadn’t massively improved the quality of the squad but I had sorted out the balance somewhat. Added bite in midfield and pace upfront were brought in. I expected to improve on last season but was targeting the top half of the table.

Signs that we might be in for a good season came with the Svenska Cuppen. We finished top of a group containing three Allsvenskan teams and took Hammarby to a penalty shootout in the quarter final. In the league we won our first five games and form didn’t slip much all season. We never had a run of bad form, defeats were always followed by wins and ultimately we had the league won with games to spare.

Next season will be a challenge, with a few new faces hopefully relegation can be avoided but I have no illusions it won’t be a battle.

Key Players

Henrik Johansson – Pacy striker signed on loan from AIK. Scored 19 in 26.

Christos Gravius – Central midfielder converted to play left wing. Hit double figures in goals.

Allsvenskan – 2024 – 3rd

Squad

Transfers

Overview

I was anticipating a difficult first season in the top flight and would have settled for anything above the automatic promotion spots. As the season started I had strengthened in most positions but was aware I was making do in some respects due to lack of funds. Much to my surprise we finished 3rd. The story was more interesting that that though as we led the table at the halfway point with a big margin. We won the opening five games of the season, lost a game and then won four more. After this, form was patchy but we still held on for a third place finish and a Europa League place. I’m not entirely sure how we managed this. We had only the ninth highest goals scored. The defence wasn’t rock solid either as we only had the fourth best goals against. Looking back at our record we won most of our 15 wins by a single goal and never more than two.

I have some funds to spend now. We are just about in the black for the first time in a couple of seasons and hopefully the Europa League will net some income next season as I’m going to go out to recruit 4-5 good players and I may need to pay for them. We have a handful of good players, Swedish u21 defenders Rylander and Guler and Icelandic attackers Oskarsson and Ingolfsson. On loan striker Johansson is staying on for another season as well, I might even try and sign him permanently.

Key Players

·         GK – Sixten Mohlin – A third season as no. 1 for the ex-Malmo keeper.

 ·         RB – Claudenir – Brazilian signed on a free in pre-season and did well despite being played out of position.

·         CB – Jonathan Rylander – Young centre-back who I coveted for a long time before I was able to sign him on a free at the start of the season.

·         CB – Kaan Guler - Swedish U21 defender signed on a free from IFK Goteborg.

·         LB – Marcos Solbes – An arrival in July, the Argentine did well at left back.

 ·         RW – Jon Oskarsson – Originally signed for £140k to play centre-mid, the Icelandic player ended up converting to play right wing.

·         DLP – Melvin Sjoland – A survivor of the promotion campaign, Sjoland did okay but is liable for replacement.

·         CM – Christos Gravius – Star of the promotion campaign at left wing, Gravius switched to the middle and did well in a holding role.

·         LW – Pavle Vagic – A star at left wing, Vagic made a massive contribution in the early stages of the season before fading in the run in.

 ·         AF – Henrik Johansson – A revelation in our promotion season the on loan AIK striker top scored with 12 goals.

·         DLF – Brynjar Bjorn Ingolfsson - The Icelandic u21 striker arrived for £240k. Only scored six goals but has masses of potential.

great debut season in the top flight there.  Looking at your previous history of winning the title in your second season, (with the exception of 1 league) you're nailed on for the title next season... ;)

Hope so, I'm investing in young players at the mo though so it might yet be a work in process :). I'd settle for a nice bit of revenue from a good cup run and European football again next season.

Norwegian Eliteserien

2021 Season Review

League - Table | Fixtures 1 | Fixtures 2 - I came into this season expecting a very tough one, particularly as we were the only semi-pro side in the division.  In the end we did very well indeed and ended up in an impressive 4th position.

Cup - Fixtures - even better to come as we had a great run in the cup leading to a defeat of Molde in the final, our first Norwegian Cup since 1968.  In doing so we also qualified for the 2022/23 Europa League

Key players:  Transfers - did what I could given our limited budget and semi-pro status

Squad

Patrik Karoliussen - continued his good form into this season, now one of our key players

Erik Waagenaes - I had signed this young centre back, a regen, right at the start of the save and he has matured into a key central defender

Havard Asheim - a bit part player last season, the right winger improved and became a first team player this time around

Rozhat Shaswari - our top scorer

Finances - our league position and cup meant these were much improved - sufficient for us to turn professional at the end of the season.

Season League Position Notes
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2019 Norwegian 2nd Division 2nd Promoted
2020 Norwegian 1st Division 1st Champions, Promoted

Get the first couple of months out of the way and I found that you can find plenty of FM time if you stick them in a jumparoo in front of Peppa Pig. After the first year though they suddenly want to spend quality time with Daddy.. bit selfish if you ask me ;)

Allsvenskan – 2025 – 10th

Squad

Europa League – 4th Qualifying Round

Transfers

Overview

10th place might look disappointing compared to the previous seasons 3rd place but we were pushing for the top 4 most of the season. In truth our squad was too small and couldn’t cope with both the league and Europe. We ran out of steam and by the end of the season were regularly starting with players on 70% condition as I had too few reserved. On a positive note however, the squad is growing incrementally stronger and we had a great run in Europe cuminating with knocking Zenit St Petersberg out of Europe in the Europa League 3rd Qualifying round.

We started the season with a significant debt of around £1m. A large slice of this came from purchases having signed Lindhahl, Lindstrom and Andersson for a combined £800k. The European campaign and improved income brought us back into the black. Subsequent to the screenshots, I have cashed in on offers for Lindstrom (£1.8m to Napoli) and Ingolfsson (£800k to AIK). These funds should allow me to strengthen a number of positions.

Key Players

  • RW – Eivind Hermansen – Norwegian winger on loan from Sarpsberg was meant to be cover but ended up a regular in the first XI
  • DLP – Jon Oskarsson – 20 year old Icelandic midfielder has been deployed in the middle and on the wing.
  • CM – Christoffer Lindstrom –.A £450k signing from IFK Goteborg. An excellent prospect who left for Napoli at the end of the season for £1.8m
  • LW – Gabriel Gudmundsson – The Swedish player of the year scoring 14 and assisting 16 from the left wing.

Allsvenskan – 2026 – 4th

Squad

Transfers

Overview

Sales in pre-season of Christoffer Lindstrom (£1.8m to Napoli) and Brynjar Bjorn Ingolfsson (£800k to AIK) allowed funds to invest in the squad. I looked to bring in a core of young players I could develop. £400k a piece was spent on defender Tom Lindell and Ghanian striker Razak Tuglo and £145k on Oscar Andersson to partner Lindell at the back. All are under 21 and very promising. These were joined in July by two teenage midfielders in Edin Colic (£120k) and Nuri (£140k). The inexperience through the squad showed as we were inconsistent but in a season or two this should payoff.

We started the season terribly, two points from the first four games left us languishing at the wrong end of the table. Form improved from there but too many draws cost us a real challenge for the champions league (Sweden now have 2 places).

The board gave us significant funds to spend at the end of the season, £1 million plus a £25k bump in the wage budget. We don’t have much in the bank so this is going to put us in the red. I’m looking to bring in 2-3 of the most promising Swedish youngsters. Philip Lonn has signed from Djurgardens for £1m already and I have been scouting for the next additions. Hopefully a good run in Europe will clear this debt. In other news the board have announced a new 4500 capacity stadium.

Key Players

  • RB – Stefan Topic – 21 year old Bosnian signed as a winger but converted to play rightback.
  • CB – Tom Lindell – A £450k signing from Malmo at the start of the season, the promising defender did well.
  • CB – Oscar Andersson – An exceptional season for the 20 year old signed from Hammarby for £145k.
  • LB – David Jibrin – 20 year old Nigerian left back converted from being a midfielder.
  • RW – Jon Oskarsson – Icelandic midfielder played on the wing this season having played in the middle previously.
  • DLP – Edin Colic – Young Swedish midfielder signed from Malmo for £120k. One for the future.
  • CM – Philip Lonn – A big money signing at £1m from Djurgardens.
  • LW – Nuri Alkaya – The 19 year old signed from £140k from Hammarby and has bags of promise.
  • AF – Razak Tuglo – Club top scorer and named in the team of the year, the 20 year old Ghanian is attracting a lot of attention.
  • DLF – Robin Gustafson – Scored 14 goals and 8 assists in only 26 games. Has earnt a call up to the Sweden senior squad.

Allsvenskan – 2027 – 3rd

Squad

Europa League – 2nd Knockout Round - Group Stage

Transfers

Overview

I was hoping to push on an present a title challenge this season but ultimately we fell short. As with our 2025 campaign, we fell short because of the onerous schedule that comes with playing in the Europa League. We played 12 extra games between July and December and with a small squad we just couldn’t keep momentum going in the league. The fixture backlog meant that we were often playing 3 games in a week during the run-in.

Europe however was a massive high point. The qualifying draws were kind with Rapid Vienna in the 3rd Qualifying round looking the pick of our three opponents. They were trounced 6-0 at our place though so we easily progressed to the Group Stage. Only a single defeat, at home to Spartak was excellent but we drew three games. This meant we went into the final group game against Feyenoord in Rotterdam needing a win to progress to the knockout rounds. We dominated them and deservedly took the win 2-1 to setup a 1st round tie against Bayer Leverkusen. The revenue from these European exploits cleared our significant debts and left me with a £4m balance at the end of the season in December. I was given a sizable chunk of this to re-inforce the squad. In came a raft of new signings and I moved on players accordingly. I assumed I would be able to adjust the Europeam squad to accommodate this but I was only given scope for three additional players. Three replacements were allowed but since so many players had left the squad I didn’t have the players to remove. I only just managed to scrape a team out of the 12 available players this allowed me. Somehow we were the better side both home and away against Leverkusen but both legs ended goalless including extra time. Penalties followed, Bayer missed their first and from there all penalties were converted. The result was a minor miracle in the context of the squad I had but it couldn’t be repeated in the next round against PSV. A 1-0 home win wasn’t enough as we were turned over 3-0 in Eindhoven.

As mentioned the funds made available to me have allowed for significant strengthening of the first team. Massively promising are 17 year olds Dennis Sjoberg and Harun Eramil both arrived from Elfsborg for £1m and £425k respectively. Striker Daniel Ericsson signed for £525k from AIK and should be a great signing. Another exciting signing is the return of Christoffer Lindstrom on loan from Napoli who will strengthen the midfield. The club still has £5m in the bank but I’ve run out of transfer funds, hopefully I can talk the board into releasing some more.

Key Players

  • RW – Carl Gustavsson – Arrived from Elfsborg for £775k and left for Inter for £1.2m at the end of the season, crucially with a 50% profit clause.
  • DLP – Tobias Johansson – Swedish midfielder picked up on a free from Malmo.
  • CM – Philip Lonn – Midfielder in his second season at the club had a decent season.
  • LW – Nuri Alkaya – A good season for the left winger but at 21 he needs to improve rapidly in the next season to keep his place.
  • AF – Robin Gustafson – Swedish player of the season and returned a decent haul of goals.
  • DLF – Edin Colic – Switched from midfield this season, at 19 is still promising but may not command a starting spot.

I know I've not posted any updates lately. My playing has slowed considerably and the last season or two had nothing at all worth reporting on xD

This season may need me to write it up once I finish it, though:

I've been struggling to get into a new FM save, so I'm giving this another go, wont update until I know I'm really into it though...
