FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt
Season 2025/2026

Erfurt news:
- Manager contract valid to the 30.06.2027
- started Continental License Pro course [manager]
- started Training Facilities upgrade - ends 9.10.2026
---
Transfers: [Transfers]
Nothing special, few backups sold.
---
Finances:
And again budget saved by 15,0M reward for 5th postition in the table. Without league position reward we are losing -6,7M per season.
season start +6,5M
season end -0,2M (counted before facilities upgrade)
---
Tactic: 4-4-1-1
---
League: rules - players under 17yo not allowed to play
predicted 18th - odds 1001.00
position 5th [Table]
First wave of young intake players from our good youth facilities came to the team. 8 new young players showed up in wide first team (22 players) and they made huge difference.
We were so close to play-off spot. Next year with another bunch of new intake players i hope to fight for promotion.
Sadly next season will be last for our star Ronald Stapelfeld who's contract ends next year. His wage demands are like 20% of my wage budget, even with many clauses he wants ~20k per week (5,750k is highest in the team)
---
Cup:
1st r. - won A[2-0] FC Wurzburger Kickers (non-league)
2nd r. - lost H[1-3] DSC Arminia Bielefeld (Bundesliga)
---
Intake:
With maxed youth facilities and recruitment hoped for more, but these two best guys looks fine:

 XaW - Kettering Town - 2031/32

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

So, the Premier League huh? With a full squad of former youth players this were a major challenge, no doubt. I managed to keep hold of all of the important players this season, and no one have thrown a fit about leaving. I did have to hand out quite a lot of new contracts though, but I expected as much. We are expanding the stadium to 10k, so most of the season we played at King Power Stadium in Leicester. The season started quite good though, as we won a bit and picked up more points than I expected we would. Of course we struggle quite a bit against the big teams, but we got some good results throughout the season. A win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, however undeserved, were a welcome encouragement for the team. So we kept our spot around mid table for the whole season, something I were more than happy with. In the end we actually finished in 8th place, only a few points behind a European spot.

In the FA Cup we beat Bolton, Middlesbrough and Fulham before we lost away to Man City in the 6th round. In the League cup we beat Ipswich before losing to Reading in the 2nd round.

We are building another new stadium! Only 4 years after we built the Brett Solkhon Stadium we are building a new one with an unknown name as of now. And it should be done within a year!

Q8uBDIQ.png

We will continue to play at King Power until the completion.

A pretty good youth intake this season. The best seems to be Jason Byles 32b.

My son played a lot of games this season, but he didn't play very well. Of course he is far out of his depth at the moment, but I've always been a firm believer of trial by fire. He also played a couple of times for Norway U19s and got a single U21 cap and scored.

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

To begin the season I said I wanted 8 or 9 wins to survive, and I figured I could get them mostly at home against other bottom half teams. We started well on that mission, winning our first two home games, but when we also beat Porto at home I really started to get confident we would survive - beating a "big 3" team in our first season in the league is outstanding.

From there things only got better, we went on a run of 9 games undefeated to spend xmas on top of the table! I knew that there was no way we could keep that up, and we did fall back to earth a bit in the new year, but we kept plugging away and ended up getting double my 8-9 wins with 17. Honestly with a bit of luck in a few games we could have qualified for Champions League next year, but we fell 3 points short, finishing in 6th. This still means we're in Europe next year, way ahead of when I expected!

We also had a cup run, reaching the semi-final before putting in our worst performance of the season as we lost the away leg 5-1.

(27b) Sérgio Carriço was our star man, breaking the league record with 21 assists. He won the European golden boy and we got bids of 10 million in the January window, but thankfully he only wants to join Porto so we could fend them off. I expect to lose him next window to Porto once they have the funds to make an offer.

In player milestones two players reached 250 games: (22b) Mauro Borges who also passed 100 league goals, and (24a) Rodrigo who has scored 50 goals overall. Borges in particular continues to surprise, he doesn't look good enough for this level but he keeps on scoring and demanding I pick him.

The youth intake has only a couple of good prospects, the best being another from our long line of right wing players (31a) Nuno Gomes. Can't find a lefty at all, we're playing retrained full backs there, but get a righty every second season, go figure. At least we have talent waiting to take over when Carriço inevitably leaves.

Financially the TV revenue from being in the top tier means we've finally made it back to even, and with European football next year I'm hopeful of getting some facilities upgrades done. Unfortunately our ground only holds 4k so ticket sales aren't ever going to be much money for us.

So, I'm still doing this on FM18 having struggled to get into anything properly on FM19. I thought I'd copy in my last season report from the old thread by way of an update. After my first CL win, I started buying in a couple of players, in large part because I wanted to buy back one of my old players (Freixo) who I'd had to sell to AC Milan before going through years without getting a proper CB prospect. I'm now back to this save, having been frustrated by the lack of varied attacking football on the current ME, which just made me pine for Leite, Rocha et al.

I'm currently in December 2033, having just won our second Club World Cup, top of the league and all going swimmingly apart from everyone under the sun wanting to buy all of my players...

@darren1983 - for the leaderboard, if you're copying in those on old versions of the game

Sampedrense - 2032/33 Season Report

Fixtures 1 - Fixtures 2 - Transfers

Transfers

As mentioned previously, we had a bit of an entertaining window with mega offers coming in for CM Alexandre (who I never really rated that highly) and ST Oliveira (who was good but never as good as Leite), which prompted more purchases. A couple of other good youngsters then came up for sale in January, so we added a few more beyond what we had.

Out:
Marcos Alexandre (YP08b) - CM - Real Madrid (£45.5m rising to £55m)
Nelson Oliveira (YP07b) - AMR/ST - Atletico Madrid (£99m)
Rafael Garcia (YP12a) - AML/R - AC Milan (£20m)
Vitor Albino (YP07a) - DR - CSKA Moscow (£7.5m)

In:

Miguel Freixo (YP05a) - DC - AC Milan (£95m - but we had a 40% sell on from them, so it's really about £50m)
Guillaume Palestri - DC - Dortmund (£82m)
Angel Trujillo - ST - Chivas (£16m)
Babacar Gomis - MC - Lyon (£12m)
Wojciech Buczek - AMLC - Lech (£2,3m)
Ilija Ivankovic - DR - Osijek (£7.5m)

League

Well, fair to say we've been threatening this for a while. There was a little wobble in November when we went 3-0 down two games running, but came back to a 4-3 win and a 3-3 draw each time. 88 goals for and 14 against is pretty good when you consider six of those goals came in two games running out of nowhere. 24 clean sheets is comfortably the highest we've had and it was some of the best football we've played.

Cups

Didn't play well in the Taca da Liga semi but nearly made it through. Won the Taca de Portugal comfortably in the end.

Europe

j9dMHhp.png

Another very good run!

Groups: Arsenal didn't try to win either game, which was hilarious. Otherwise, straightforward.

Atletico: Obviously, we got the hardest draw out there. Went 2-0 up late in the second leg (deservedly), before they grabbed a late goal to make things edgy. Nelson Oliveira didn't play a minute for them :(

PSG: Our nemesis from the past two finals and it was great to put them aside earlier, with a vintage performance in the second leg (first time round, before the game crashed). Second time around wasn't quite as comfortable, but two poacher's goals from Trujillo was all we needed.

Liverpool: We were always ahead or drawing in the first leg, which was great. Couldn't get the first goal for ages at home, but there was no danger from Liverpool and Leite's late strike just made things more comfortable. Fully deserved.

This brings up Chelsea in the final, who we haven't played since they battered us in our first visit to the knockouts some 6 seasons back. They have a solid squad but nowhere near the might of PSG, so I was fairly optimistic and rightfully so.

dYAU9YB.png

Delighted with this - we genuinely were better than every team we played for the first time in the competition, which just goes to show what a difference buying two good centre backs will do for you!

Youth Intake

A nice intake, even if both good prospects play the same position.

Carlos Kapoco (YP15a) - I really like his spread of attributes and has good potential. Could be Rocha's replacement when that sad day comes...

Joao Agostinho (YP15b)  - Shame we already have someone with his name, but looks a decent prospect.

You can score goals from both the left and right side throw ins, how much more variety do you need? ;)

@b101 - so not really a youth academy challenge anymore since you are buying players now...

Definitely is and has been. The vast majority of the squad is youth products as you can tell from the names - post-completion, a number of people have done this in the past to keep it fresh.

How can you see who promoted last season?
I'm gonna start this challenge in Russia.

Should come up on the 'Season Preview' tab on the league page. If not, you have to just search manually.

Just lost our first game in a long winning streak - had to come eventually, but still annoying in one of those games where we hit the post 3 times and missed a number of sitters, before getting stung on the counter :(

@b101 great job  but buying players ? just a normal save then.

when did you start buying players ?

about varied attacking football, I dont have this issue at all. But I had to spend alot of time experimenting to find a tactic I'm comfortable with.

Only started buying players last season after completing the challenge (without buying any players), just to keep it feeling fresh. I'm still pushing my own youth through as much as I can, but having won the CL, I decided to change it up a little bit. Even then, I've not bought many and set myself a few rules (age limit, must make a profit etc). Main reason was wanting to buy back my own CB, who I'd lost to a release clause a few years prior to winning the CL. I plan on eventually selling most of them and getting back to a side of all youth, but will see how it all works through. To be honest, the things that keep me coming back to the save are the two of my youth players I just adore and want to try to see through to the end of their careers. Rocha hit his peak a while back but just has a really nice spread of attributes and Leite is one of the best strikers I've ever owned in any FM. Rocha holds our appearance record with 346, whilst Leite is our record goalscorer on 268.

I'll probably restart on FM19 in a different league once the next patch comes out, but just don't feel comfortable with the game at the moment due to the match engine issues.

How do you guys managing in england improve facilities? I have been stuck in the vanarama south for 3 seasons now and cant gather up any funds to improve facilities. Do i just have to get lucky with regens?

What I did was get the chairman to agree our philosophy was to develop young players from within. I've asked for our awful training facilities and youth facilities to be upgraded at least 10 times a season over 5 years but every single time I'm told we don't have the finances, BUT when I ask for upgrades to junior coaching and youth recruitment I get them, maybe twice per year each. I'm not in Tha Van North with exceptional/extensive in both - I'm not completely sure but I think that's state-of-the-art.

The other point is that my choice of Head of YD is based on his personality - I want professional with high determination. His attributes are of lesser import.

What it means then is that my academy intakes have ridiculously high potential (maybe 2 or 3 per intake) and three or four have high enough CA to go straight into my first team squad - which comprise the youth intake of the previous years. The thing is, the improve very little via training even with positive personalities, so my players quickly fall into two categories - those who get plenty first team action and develop phenomenally, and those who don't and stagnate.

But that's the secret - get your philosophy sorted and then ask for the relatively cheap improvements to get your youth intake optimal.

@b101 I understand. I would argue its a tactical issue, not a ME issue. And there are not any known ME issues at the moment, so you can only expect minor tweaks.

I also just haven't really got into a save properly. Won everything with Utd in a 'replace José' job, but that gets boring pretty quickly - I then tried to develop a 4-4-2 diamond with relatively little luck, due to AMs playing next to no through balls and the F9 not moving deep for them. Looking back at the ME from 18, there's a world of difference in terms of the variety of ways in which you can score - even with my success with Utd, it was all crosses, long shots or set pieces; never a through ball or well-worked passing move.

@b101 So why do I have alot of though balls and well working passing game ? What I'm saying is that this is your issue, not an ME issue.

I rest my case :)

Happy for you :) - a lot of people are finding otherwise though, not just me. It's been a nice excuse to get back to Sampedrense in any case!

Yes it is! Emmanuel Leite still going strong :D

@XaW is also doing a great job this year, while doing the GK challenge.

I wish i could play, but those facilities issues/bugs ruin my experience so far. Im not talking about the ME, we can just hope SI does his best to improve it. At least, it feels like they are trying to improve the exchanges with the players. Public beta + all the players suggestions reviewed are positive signs in my opinion.

Sporting Clube de Pombal - 2031-32 - Liga NOS

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

First season with European football to contend with and a thin squad - basically 19 players I could rely on - made me a little worried about how we might go. A couple of decent cup runs put extra fixtures on the schedule too. Thankfully we weren't too badly hit by long term injuries and could play our best players most weeks.

In the Europa League we got a pretty decent group draw: Man U, Sparta Praha, Legia Warszawa. I felt that we could certainly hope to come out of that group, and we did well, even beating Man U at home, but losing the away fixture to them after qualification was already assured to drop to second. The 1st knockout round gave us PSV which I again thought gave us a chance, and we took the home leg 4-2, but fell to a late goal in the away leg to lose 5-5 on away goals. A decent outing first up which injected some much needed cash, and allowed all our facilities to be upgraded.

So that left the league to concentrate on, where we put up a strong fight all season, banging in the goals. We scored in every single league game for the season, and in fact scored 6 more times (5) than we did 1 (3). Our gung ho approach was enough to blow away the lesser teams, but the big three got the better of us - we only managed 2 draws and 4 losses from our games against Benfica/Porto/Sporting. That was enough to keep us to 4th spot, but Portugal has risen in the rankings since the game started and 4th is now a Champions League spot, so we get to play with the big boys for the first time next year!

Special credit for our performance has to be given to (26c) Miguel Rato, who has broken the team record for goals by December and went on to double it. 52 goals in 44 games is a hell of an effort, especially for someone who isn't the team's primary penalty taker. So much for strikers not scoring big totals in FM19! In any other year (27b) Sérgio Carriço recording 32 assists might have been the story. Thankfully no bids came in for him!

The team is at the point where it's getting harder to find truly impressive prospects in the youth intake(32a) Fábio Brites looks like he will be handy though, we definitely need central midfielders as we only have 3 naturals in the first team and when one went down with injury it was a real scramble to cover two games a week.

The board are currently searching for a site to build a 13084 seat stadium to replace our 4000 seat one. Unfortunately I haven't quite made legend status so I doubt I'll get it named after me, but the extra capacity will be nice when it happens.

@Shakes, great work in Portugal. I remember with pain how hard it was to overturn the big three - it took simply ages to get a first win against them and then even longer to get one away from home. Benfica also went through a period of being insanely loaded with talent, making CL semis and a final three years running, which helped raise our coefficient, but definitely ruined my league chances for a while! Good luck overturning them and I feel your pain!

I think it's a lot of luck with managers as to how hard the big three are to pass. Right now in my save Porto are not that strong, and have actually tried twice to get me as their manager. Benfica is looking like the toughest nut to crack. I think my team is starting to look mature and I'm at the point where there's only going to be 1-2 players who can claim a spot each year so improvement will be slow, unless these facilities upgrades and extra rep from playing in Europe unlock a new class of player in the youth intakes. It's also a lot harder to craft perfect personalities in FM19 in a youth only save, I had a few that were fairly professional but have fallen back to balanced before they got established enough to mentor up others.

Oppsal IF Season 2019/20 Report

Welcome to the start of my new challenge attempt, with one season now in the books and it was a very promising start. We took charge of Oppsdal in the Norwegian third tier, a club known more for it's women's handball team than for football and with a 500 seat stadium in a suburb of Oslo. Our goals this season were simply to do as well as possible with the squad we inherited, with the addition of a couple fresh faces from the pre-season intake. Here's how we went:

Cup- We drew 1-1 with lower league Skarp before winning a ridiculous penalty shootout 12-11 (the goalies were better at scoring pens than saving them). We then drew premier league team Haugesund and lost 3-1 in the 2nd round.

League- We performed really well in the league, sitting in 2nd position for most of the year, fighting with the likes of Fram Larvik for top spot. Stabaek 2 had a sneaky 6 or 7 games in hand at one point and used that to shoot all the way to the top and end up running away with the league, but since they are a B team they couldn't be promoted so the race was still on. We had several unlucky results and it ended up being Fram Larvik that got the automatic promotion, but we entered the playoffs after finishing 3rd. We played Floy in the first round and a 1-0 loss away was recovered at home as we dispatched them 3-1. We then played HamKam from the division above for a place in their division next season. A good performance at home gave us a 2-0 lead after the first leg, and we were able to hold on to just a 1-0 loss, meaning we secured promotion!

Best Players-

Top goalscorer: Lasse Bransdal (22 goals) This guy was our 1st choice striker and he was awesome all season, winning the league's top goalscorer as well.

Most assists: Lasse Bransdal (8 assists) What can't he do.

Most POM: Lasse Bransdal (8) Guess who.

Highest avg rating: Tallak Bright-Taylor (7.41) Wait what.

MVP: My brain says Bransdal but my heart says Bright-Taylor and it's got to be him. This guy is a centre back and is rated 1.5* current ability. He is also an absolute hero and my favorite player of the save so far. He can't do anything fancy like "pass" or "dribble" but he's the only one on the team who can take a penalty and he's an absolute weapon in the box off corners, leading to 5 goals this season. He also managed 5 assists, all of which were clearances smashed up the pitch that our pacy strikers latched on to. This, and his unsettlingly good defending led to 5 POM awards. He was named fans player of the season and I agree with them! Lets get a statue of him outside the stadium!

Best U23 Player: Clement Twizere. Our 23 year old GK was solid all season, ending with an avg rating of 7.01 which is solid for a goalie.

Results Results 2 (no) Transfers

The goal for next season is to survive and hopefully develop some of the young talent coming through. Pal Langaker from the last intake is already looking like a pretty spicy prospect, already grabbing his first start and couple of goals so i'm keen to see how he does going forward.

Yep, can imagine that the new mentoring process takes this year's version to a whole new level of difficulty. I guess it's more important than ever to have a few top personalities in your starting squad.

Managers-wise, Benfica tailed off massively once Abel Ferreira left and have now seemingly settled for mediocrity with Merlin Tandjigora, who hasn't won anything other than one Taca in four years. Add that to their transfer policy of just selling everyone good and we're in a good place in Portugal :)

Great first season there @Fadedaf

One of those reasons why I love this game. José Antonio (YP05b) is a fairly average player by our standards, albeit someone who has made the absolute most of everything he's got. In a different save, he'd have been moved on to a different club long ago. Put him in a CL semi final game against Man Utd though and you get this... Just a hero.

Kettering Town 2030/31

League Table   Squad 1/Squad 2   Overall Best XI

Finances   Season Review

A similar season to our first in League One, a couple of places and four points better off. A long way off a promotion challenge as we lack the goals to push us up there, defence once again our strength despite lacking any real depth. Our first real FA cup run ended in a sixth round defeat to Man City. In terms of players, Mark Bennett 28a is turning into a quality LB, stats aren't the most impressive but performance wise he's a star and was voted fans player of the year. Luke King 25e is a solid performer in CM, mentally very good. Unfortunately we lost Bobby Garrick 27d but managed to receive £3.9m + a 50% sell on clause so it could be worse.

Youth Intake - Happy with this one, Louis Prosser is a good prospect in net, George Cooke looks to have good starting stats to be a useful RB, Joe Mason is a welcome addition as he can play on either wing as well as centrally.

Oppsal IF Youth Intake 2020

Well, this is pretty terrible:

IG0UsrF.png

The best player, although still not great, seems to be Nilsen:

AMXToK9.png

I was really looking for some good reinforcements to help us stay up this season but I guess we'll have to do our best with what we have! I don't know how we get such a bad intake with such good youth recruitment. Maybe I need to fire my HOYD...

Sampedrense - 2033/34 Season Report

Fixtures 1 - Fixtures 2 - Fixtures 3 - Transfers

Transfers

Sold a few players, nothing major this year though with a very settled squad.

League

J2ErpPn.png

Just a very, very good season. The one draw? Pacos Ferreira away... We were resting a fair few players for the Man Utd games, but still. Genuinely a frustration! We had the league sewn up by January, so everything else could get full focus. There were a few very close calls, with us 1-0 down numerous times in the last ten games, but this takes our unbeaten run to silly levels...

LRG8cTV.png

Oh yes, obviously, I didn't win manager of the year. That went to Braga's manager. Who knows?

Cups

Won the Taca de Portugal, squeezing past Benfica in the final. In the Taca de Liga, we just decided not to turn up against Porto, seeing our only loss of the domestic season :(

Europe

image.thumb.png.fff29d11732597eb66af7b105f08e1c7.png

A bit of a surprise here, as I didn't think it would be this easy - it really was, until the final. We topped the group with 18 points (Spurs, Monaco and Ajax) leading to a lovely tie with Real. Thankfully, they haven't really signed many top players recently, with their stars the wrong side of 30. Still, a 2-0 win at the Bernabeu was unexpected and whilst they took the lead in Sampedrense, we were clinical and thumped them.

We then had a heart-attack moment when we conceded a penalty away to Bayern in the first leg, which CB Freixo was sent off for protesting. Thankfully, Moita made the stop, we held out for the clean sheet and a Leite/Trujillo combo at home was enough for the win. Man Utd were poor in the semis - they have a really unbalanced squad - and a 2-0 win away preceded an absolute rout at home. That left Man City, who have probably the best squad in the game. They were miles better than us for the first 45 minutes, but a Trujillo strike just on the verge of half time put us ahead. We were good value for the win in the second half after club legend Rocha finished from a Trujillo knockdown.

Player of the Season

Who else? Nice to see his valuation finally break £37m after all these years. Clearly we are now a big club :)

m6mPvbH.png

Youth Intake

A nice intake and good to get a decent left winger and yet another outstanding looking AMC. We have a bit of an embarrassment of riches at this position and will be interested to see who steps up to take over from Rocha when he finally hangs up his boots.

Alberto Djaló (YP16a) - The latest in our AMC production line. Cool name and nice spread of attributes means it could be him.

Bruno Ventura (YP16b)  - Another good GK prospect for a position that we are well stocked in, but looks to have decent potential.

Renato Peixoto (YP16c) - Literally the first decent looking LW we've had through. Not the highest in terms of potential, but good raw stats and a Professional personality give me hope!

Facilities and Finances:

Still at max. + £20m from the Pavlovic sale (a CB who was about on a par with two of our others)

---

Aims for next season.

  • More game time for the youngsters. Work out who is going to replace Leite, Rocha, Freixo (?) et al and develop them.
  • Hopefully get a CB prospect or a proper BBM in the intake.

Sporting Clube de Pombal - 2032-33 - Liga NOS

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

Champions LeagueGot a really tough draw of Man City (who have won it 5 years in a row), Inter and Sevilla. Man City proved to be as strong as advertised - they beat us 9-0 in the away fixture - but we surprisingly managed a win and a draw against Sevilla to qualify for Europa.

Europa League: Some pretty favourable luck in the draw saw us defeat Burnley, Basel and thrash Valencia to make the semi final. Arsenal were like a mini Man City though, and we got absolutely destroyed 11-2 on aggregate. Still making it as far as we did was a very credible result.

Domestic: Ugh, an absolute dumpster fire of inconsistency. We managed to beat Sporting twice and eventual champions Benfica once, it was everyone else that was the problem this year. We scored in every game last year, this year we failed to hit the scoreboard 7 times, while on the other end of the scale we managed to put in 7 goals 4 times! (26c) Rato turned back into a human not a goal scoring cyborg and everyone else also seemed to have a case of the yips too. In the end we beat Braga away in the last game to knock them from 2nd down to 3rd again showing we could do it when we turned up, but it wasn't quite enough and we missed even Europa league by a point.

Youth IntakeProbably the worst we've had, not what I was hoping for after facilities upgrades. Right back (33a) Rúben Oliveira is the only decent prospect of the lot.

The good news is that we have our 13,744 seat stadium finishing up and a bunch of money in the bank for more upgrades so we're still in a decent long term position. It's probably time to make some hard decisions about which players aren't good enough and start giving their games to youth prospects. It would be easier if our best under 19 prospect didn't play the same position as our best player ... as good as (27b) Carriço has been it seems unlikely I can afford his next contract so if a big bid comes in then maybe now is the time to move on rather than lose him for nothing and lose youth development time.

Great work in Europe there, @Shakes - hopefully the wins against the bigger sides is a sign of things to come :)

I hope so because it was a really frustrating season otherwise. I looked up the stats - we had only 2 less shots on target compared to last year, but we scored 31 goals less! To be fair last season was probably a bit of a fluke where everything went in, but it's hard not to develop expectations.

Started this in Polan after careful consideration.
I don't have A LOT of time so this club is perfect for my playtime and ambitions.

I'm currently in my first season managing this former Polish Giant:

HbG93 - AC Cesena 2019/20

Table - End of Season squad - Finances - Facilities - Commercial SummaryTransfers - Fixtures 1 - Fixtures 2
YALpNhE.png

The Year
The season preview had Cesena placed at a 9th placing meaning a play off position. And while I was able too not only meet this expectation, but overachieve it with a 7th placing. It didn't come pain free. We set the worst defensive record of the season. This overshadows the fact we were the 5th best scoring team. The height off our poor defensive ability came during a train wreck 9 to 0 loss away at the hands of Pordenone. The silver lining off this mess of a result is it's memorization, as the Clubs and the leagues biggest loss. With this known it shouldn't come as a surprise that the dressing room atmosphere, and support of me was questionable throughout the season. Luckily I was offered a strong 1-year contract extension. The playoff saw us go out during the 2nd round after a 89th minute equalizer activating the tie breaker by higher seed.

Youth Intake
The overall squad lacks defenders and furthermore have several ageing key players that are likely too retire any moment. Unluckily I only got a select few in the positions I wanted. Either way in terms of sorting after potential these are the more talented lads. Antonio Giacchetti 20A looks like someone who is sure too be apart of the future team. Nicola De Rosa 20B could be the start of a midfield revamp as two off our more prominent defensive midfielders are set too retire. Massimiliano Ronca 20C might be a excellent crosser but his position is unfavorable for now. However my favorite and last of higher talent is Jacopo Cescon 20D main reason being the fact he is a 190 cm tall central defender. In fact he already started too feature in the bianconero kit this season. While the rest could someday find their onto the bench. Until such times I shall spare you all from them.

Next Year
The season ahead will be rough. We saw goalkeeper Federico Agliardi and defensive midfielders Giueseppe De Feudis and Davide Biondini retire after the end of the season. On top of this Danilo Alessandro who was pointed out as the clubs best player. Got a long term injury during the 2019 pre-season and also retired shortly after. This fused with the loss of Andrea Zammarchi who didn't sign a binding deal with us has lowered the quality of the squad. I hope however too still be able to land in the playoff zone (note 10th place is still playoffs). But I think we are set for a longer stay in the Lega Pro until we can muster some new recruits. It also worries me that our standout player of 2019/20 Giovanni Ricciardo is turning 34 by the end of the year. Nicola Andreoli had a fantastic year for us despite his low 6.87 rating he had a remarkable 15 assists. He could quickly end up as our best player in the near future. But the most important thing will be too restructure our team as the retirements stretches out our midfield, and of course improve our frankly sad defensive record.

Widzew Lodz: Season 2019/2020

This season was an awesome success! They truly are fallen giants because you start with a proper team and proper facilities!
Youth scouting and coaching got an upgrade, youth facilities upgrade will be ready october 2020.

We won the league and the biggest surprise with really once in a lifetime match-ups we were able to win the cup! We won against an other D2 team! :D
So next season will be very hard because we only have one good DM in our youth and the rest is getting a bit older. You can see it all in the screenshots.
We were able to keep ALL our players with a renewed contract.

Have it!

Goals next season: No relegation, group stage Europe League would be fantastic! Maybe an other cup run?

Sporting Clube de Pombal - 2033-34 - Liga NOS

ul8wccV.gif

Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances

So with no European football this season it was a chance to regroup and play a consistent team each week. So I locked in my choice of eleven and went for it. The major choice for the season came in the January window when I had a bid accepted over our head for (29a) João Silva - 33 million from Tottenham. I had the option to beg them not to, but I had to think long and hard on it - it's a lot of money, he isn't becoming a natural striker and the right wing is locked down by our best performer over the past 4 years. In the end I decided to beg, I can't magically summon wonder kids and he's under contract until 2038 so there will be another chance to sell if we have to. Similar logic when Porto bid 40 million, except I most certainly preferred the idea of sending somewhere he wouldn't hurt us!

The locked in eleven worked for us - they all played at least 32 of our 41 games (including cups). I think we really started to look like we could outplay everyone but the big three, and hold our own with them. Results weren't quite there though, and for much of the season it looked like Europa might be the best we could do. However we stormed home at the end with a 12 game undefeated streak, and could honestly argue the three draws could have been wins during that time.

That run was enough to push us into 4th place. The player who scored the goal in the win that secured us Champions League football? Silva of course! He even knocked in a hat trick in the final game to knock Rato off the top scorer position. His second half of the year after I decided not to sell really justified the decision.

Out goals let in were way down this year: 41 vs 60 the past two, mostly because we're controlling games and not giving up nearly as many shots. We were really wasteful this year too, especially in the first half of the season, so I have a lot of confidence that this time we're the real deal and next year we only need to be slightly more clinical to give the big three a genuine scare. That's going to be the priority - improve in the league. Just showing up in the CL for the money is fine, I'm happy to field weaker teams if needed to keep players fresh, since we're still a lot of work away from being able to realistically compete there.

No bid for (27b) Carriço and although Porto are now interested again I think they missed their chance. I can afford him again and I'd rather his performance - he had "only" an assist every other game since people kept missing shots -  than money that we no longer need.

The youth intake is what it is at this point, we've hit the stage where getting more than one player who is a got shot to eventually make the team is a bonus. At least our player this year (34a) Carlos Ressureição is a central defender with double digit heading, only took 15 seasons!

The Year:
I did a tactical change for two reasons for my second year in charge. While I still play a 4-2-3-1 Wide I did move up my midfield line (CM instead of DM) mainly due too my two veteran defensive midfielders retired. This also allowed me too change play style. I used too run a counter style tactic but this time around I worked it into a more of an attacking mindset. While of course also looking too plug the leak in our defense.  We scored less goals this time around ticking in at 53 goals but we also conceded 25 less meaning a total of 49 marking a positive overall goal difference. However we no longer have a good goalscorer as Giovanni Ricciardo age has simply taken a toll, and I looked too invest in some youthful appearances. Luciano Cinotti looked promising scoring a hat-trick when he was given a chance but he faded away. I have most hope in Pierpaolo Bulevardi turning into a reasonable striking option with time as I am simply in awe of the size of this lad. Absolute unit. Assist king Nicola Andreoli spent most of the season in the shadows and the mantle goes too Loris Tortori yet another aging member of the squad. Loris Tortori also was our highest kit seller from our seasonal total of 7,516 shirts. Clocking in with a average seasonal rating at 6.91 Francesco Campagna perfectly describes our teams very mediocre Campagna. Overall we finished 9th this time around meaning we took steps back this year. However I did note in my last post I didn't expect much change. Due too the loss of players we couldn't replace the year before and too hurt us even more. Giampaolo Perelli was sold by the chairman the player that convinced me too go with Cesena.

Youth Intake:
I would like too say that this intake helped settle some of my doubts over this teams future. But I would be lying. I will be fair and admit that Richard Antwi 21A looks very good! Hopefully he can grow a little taller and much in his ability. I am quite happy with him as we had a very narrow defensive line from the get go. And one of the defenders is retiring this season. Our second best player from this years haul is another defender in Antonio Bernardi 21B who also could do with some extra growing. But between these two and last years Jacopo Cescon 20D we have a nice little collection of bright central defenders going on. The 3rd man of interest is Roberto Colosio 21C who could be a future goalkeeper of the team but he would develop in the shadows for now. Moving ahead we got Tommaso Padovani 21E showing some promise. I love midfielders and with our lack of quality in midfield Tommaso here could already start proving himself next year. However this years prospect that has me excited is Aniello Biagioni 21D while I think Antwi is the better overall prospect. I am very happy too get myself a natural advanced left winger too develop. I also think his attributes are quite nicely spread.

Next Year:
I have high hopes too pickup some midfielders, wingers and at one point a higher caliber striker prospect in the future. For now I think we have enough players too not worry too much. The biggest worry is that both our left-backs are aging members of the squad,  but I would be surprised if we didn't get anyone too slot in there before they think of retiring. Losing Giampaolo Perelli hurts us massively as he was a player that showed some light throughout the year. But I guess that is the beauty of this challenge in the darkest hour suddenly a prospect will shine and guide you forward. My defensive line has seen the most of our first team active prospects for now. Hopefully they can be our rocks  pebbles until we can muster more attacking prowess in our youths. Either way I feel a difficult year ahead, as we are set for our third year in Lega Pro as we have no real goalscorer and no genuine creator in the side.

Oppsal IF Season 2020 Report

Second season finished, and it was another interesting one! Our goals were to survive in the new division and look to develop some talented youth players. We moved to a new stadium due to league regulations meaning we can now seat 1,850 up from 500 and we get our youth recruitment up one level. Additionally I am working away at the coaching badges and i'm currently working on my Continental B license. Here's how the season went:

Cup- drew Bærum SK in the first round, one of the best teams in the league below and we put in a poor performance to lose 2-0.

League- We started off okay, getting a couple wins before a streak of 5 straight losses in the month of May had me pretty worried. We were able to steadily scrape a few wins and draws and hover just above the relegation zone all season until a 5 match unbeaten run including great 3-2 wins over promotion candidates Viking and UII/Kisa meant we secured survival with a game to spare. We ended up finishing 11th which I am definitely happy with.

Best Players-

Top goalscorer: Pål Langåker 19A (11 goals) A youth prospect already won top goalscorer! This guy is looking spicier every game and is seriously good at the age of only 17. Hopefully we can hold on to him for as long as possible. He only grabbed a starting spot halfway through the season and stepped up big time, even scoring 4 goals in a single game. Meanwhile Lasse Bransdal from last year managed a whole ONE goal in the entire season, so he really fell off a cliff.

Most assists: Adrian Fritzøe Östman and Jørgen Solvang Nilsen (7 assists) our wide midfielder and ball winning midfielder both had solid seasons.

Most POM: 4 different players with 2 each

Best avg rating: Tallak Bright-Taylor (7.06) He did it again! the 1.5* centre back continues to defy expectations. How is this guy good?!

MVP: It has to be the absolute legend Bright-Taylor, get this man a Ballon D'or already.

Best U23 Player: Pål Langåker. He's now our best striker at the age of 17. Looking extremely spooky.

Results Results 2 (no) Transfers

The goal for next season is a comfortable mid-table finish and hopefully further development of the youngsters. Ideally a few more prospects will break into the first team.
