A somewhat disappointing month ending in 3 points from games but it started brilliantly against Man City with us running out 3-1 winners, Matheus Cunha with 2 goals. Then we slipped to 2 straight defeats against 2 teams I was targeting as two wins, if we are to stay up this season we need to pick up points against the "lesser" teams in the division, although picking up points against the likes of Man City and Spurs is a massive boost.

POTM:

f5fe887377b1fa2e0c611d3fc31f40aab0d394b0

Alexander Isak (again), another 3 goals in this month for the Swede.

Bristol City are certainly one of the poorest teams in the division and we put them well to the sword Ben Pearson with 2 goals. Our trip to Old Trafford never really got going a consolation goal for Adam Jackson in a game we got well and truly pulled to pieces in. Our next game was a thrilling encounter with Bournemouth, another struggling side. We raced into a 3 goal lead by half time thanks to the ever impressive; Cunha, Isak and Morutan. Then after half time we completely switched off allowing a 2 goal comeback from Bournemouth leaving me a nervous if not fuming mess. But then to my delight our all American hero Tim Amarikwa pops up with a goal to reinstate our 2 goal lead, to my delight the game was now over, we were 2 clear with a matter of seconds remaining but no a late mix up at the back allowed Daniel Podence to swoop in and make the last 30 seconds or so interesting.

POTM:

05492f425f578ce08bd0322ed9a951e27a5497b7

Tim Amarikwa, 2 goals in a very short month, not bad for a 20 year old.

November:

November began with a bit of a whimper in all honesty. Someone has reminded my players of who they are and what they are achieving as we where shot straight back down to Earth by Stoke and Liverpool. But we regained our touch against Leicester and Swansea picking up 4 points from the last two games. Christopher Nkunku was the star man and is quickly proving his worth.

  POTM:

fb742922f10473769bbeba53269c3d1e6b63e630

Christopher Nkunku, single-handedly won us the last two games of the season. But his performances in the other two games where standout despite the fact everyone else was completely woeful.

December:

A tough December run began with a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea and in all honesty we where well beaten by a much better side. Wolves at home presented a much better opportunity to gain 3 points, which is exactly what we were able to do 4-0 a wonderful performance, 4 different scorers as well proving we're not being carried by a certain Swedish striker (although he did score). Another win in the league against a team really flying high, 3 goals and another clean sheet for us Ben Pearson, Isak and Jordan Jones getting his first Premier League goal.

The next game was a tough test at the new White Hart Lane, despite the fact we dominated the first game of the season against them we were well short of Spurs. 4 points from 2 games against Arsenal this season a massive win to fire us up the league, leaving us 8th. 1 point of Europe!!!

33 points, we're pretty much safe already which is fantastic, hopefully we can ride the January storm, there's quite the interest in a few of our players including; Matheus CunhaJordan Jones, Adam Jackson and a couple of players who have fallen out of favour; McGeehan, Mowatt, Pinnock.

January will be a tough month for us to get through there will be a few outs for sure and finding the right player to come in on our budget will be less than easy.

A couple of past first team regulars found they're way out of Oakwell. Unfortunatley for the like of Mowatt, McGeehan, Pinnock and Jackson we've simply outgrown their potential, I'd have loved to have kept them around for a lot longer but back to back promotions is something I really didn't expect.

The one major loss I didn't want is Matheus Cunha. He's just started to settle in to the squad and he' gone in true Barnsley style. Bayer Leverkusen matched his release clause and he was gone :(.

A player who in my opinion has flattered to deceive throughout his career and has continued to do so in this save, hopefully he'll prove to be a fantastic signing.

A solid BWM, with some great mentals.

Oh hello there, who are you? Great loan move for him, sell for £11m and buy back for £3.9m in a years time. I don't think anything could possibly be more pleasing to the Barnsley owners than this.

Marek Rodak joins, I wanted him desperately in the summer on a free but he decided to stay at Fulham but 6 months down the line he still hadn't featured for them.

Classic FM signing this one, he's great this year in FM so fingers crossed. His stats are more than adequate for the job at hand.

A couple of youth players we've signed as well.

Review:

Generally pleased with the deals we've been able to get through, although we weren't able to directly replace Cunha, so we'll see what happens.
