So - the difference with a good striker, one who does actually miss quite a few good chances but...

January

Apart from a cup run, everything went well.  Sadly we couldn't pick up a win vs the Owls but everything else in the league went to plan and we got some money for a player!

Our head is above the water which is nice.  Hopefully keep this up and we'll get promoted!  Crazy to think that. 

I won an award

The world saw a record transfer

We saw a record sale for our backup goalkeeper that made so many damn mistakes whilst played it was shocking.

I'll be bringing in a goalkeeper for 6 months on a free, don't need to sign anyone.

But, we did sign two players, one for money and one in on loan.

Fletcher joins for 235k which I think is a great price!  Will be playing in every position across the top.

Hinds came in, scored and then got injured :(.  Want to keep him here though.

The game that won us the league.  Neither of them were penaltys but they cleared two of the line, gotta say the ref was biased towards us!

Still got a game to go but look at the difference when you have a striker who can score!

We get a small upgrade to the stadium

I mean, this season has been amazing.  The introduction of a proper striker in the squad made all the difference.  It's going to be VERY difficult to recruit in the summer.  I didn't realise how bad my brexit was. There's quality frees or low fee transfers for players from EU countries but they ALL need a work permit now.  I need to recruit from inside the country, bringing in youth players where I can.  I've spotted two frees from lower team but they won't be ready for first team.

I'd actually say if we got an easy brexit, I'd be able to keep us up no problem, I mean there's a player my scout gives 100 rating to because he's that good for us and he'd of cost £2.5mil.  I cannot bring him in though due to WP.  So let's see, this is going to be a tough summer. It doesn't help that my players want bigger better contracts.  I'm not giving Poyet 20k P/W or Mattock 11 P/W etc, I gotta be smart.  Wish me luck!

So I may have spent some money... but it's peanuts compared to other teams

So it turns out my work permit problem isn't one at all, we just have to offer them certain wages by the looks of it.  I think my purchases kind of snowballed.

At first it was oh wow, look at Terrier, AML, AMC and ST, looks good!  He'll come and play AMC!

And then my brother started telling me about the way he found wonderkids last year, how he looks for min.fee to foreign clubs and it worked, I found this guy.  Scouts raved, 3mil you say? Alright then, we need a striker since Janssen isn't coming back.

Wait... Stoke are willing to sell him now to me? Well I guess Milan needs competition upfront even though we do have a few strikers on our books.  Gotta bring in the guy that got us up here in the first place.

Oh I almost forgot, I'd already found a striker for the future but he'll now be going out on loan.

Then I recruited more scouts and they decided to go, WOW, LOOK AT THIS GUY AND LOOK AT HIS MIN. FEE OF 1.3mil!  YOU KNOW YOU WANT ANOTHER STRIKER!  Yep, the caps showing they excitement of my scouts.

So now I have a striker headache.  Well... I do need an AMR-IF so I'm going to re-train Milan there.  Why not?

So, here's the squad.

Goalkeepers

Rodak came in on a free, Woodman also and he's not just good cover, he can put pressure on the #1 Jersey.

Defenders

Not too bad here, Smith/Mattock will fight for #1 and if Mattock continues, it's his starting spot.  Ward has been quality for me in previous FMs and comes with no fee, just wages.

At CB it'll be Ajayi/Palmer-Brown to start.  Bednarek came highly scouted and Adarabioyo is a player who was quality for me last year.  Robertson is back up.

The center of midfield

Now much has changed here.  Williams has been brought in, he puts pressure on the B2B role. 

The attackers - AMR/AMC/AML/ST

OH before I start.  We still have Williams and Taylor here.  They're listed for transfer and loan.  Taylor never recovered from his injury, I've been able to use him in the prem before.  Not this year.  Williams is so inconsistent I can't offer him a role.

Right, so my AML will be Kent with Fletcher as back up.  AMC will be Terrier with Newell as back up.  AMR will be Milan with Vassell as backup.  Uptop will be Janssen with Joveljic as backup I think.

I'll be looking to loan Millar and McAuley out to give them game time.

Opening game; talk about calling it late!

They had nine men for 40 minutes!

Their goal was so gutting, deflection from a corner and Man was there to put it in, we deserved 3 points.

The end of January - our first time in the top flight, so far

The emotions that fly round some of these games have had me shouting at my monitors.  Some of the results have been great, good comebacks, silly draws or damn right awful. 

But the team I've assembled here so far are made of some stern stuff and we're managing to keep our head above the water.

August

What an opening, 3 wins, a draw and 2 losses in the first month.  Only losing by a girl to Mancester City, it was what dream starts were made of.  We'd of been making new fans because we were the underdogs showing people we're capable.

September

And then September happened, Arsenal showed us that we're still a class apart, Chelsea scored a very late winner but we managed to get a draw away at West Ham.  The cup win vs Liverpool, even though it was a reserve side was still a good win.

October

We managed to record our first win in 7 games and get a draw vs the bottom team Derby who actually played well.  Bournemouth we let in an 88th goal which I felt we deserved more and then a red card left us with more misery again Forest Green, a league two side!

November

And more draws came, I mean drawing vs Liverpool is a good thing, those draws make points that you stay up compared to losses, but it would of been nice to give Millers something more to cheer about.

December

We started the month dreadfully, we were awful against Burnley and it felt we were going down and down but then a festive month hit us.  2 wins and 2 draws in 4, it saw us give a good foot hold in the table instead of being in a relegation battle.

January

And then we recruited new blood, 2 - 0 down to Southampton after a Woodman howler(Rodak being injured for a month), in the 82nd minute and 93rd we had two new signings equalise.  It felt like good things might come.  A win vs Everton was a great feelings but then another loss vs Tottenham, Kane was just too good in both games was nothing compared to the hiding Manchester United gave us.  Woodman was awful again, I can't wait for the return of Rodak, Woodman being the better of the two turned into a liability.  Manchester City made us look a class apart and then we threw away a 2 - 0 lead vs Arsenal to manage a draw due to a deflection!

The League Table

We're 12th, it's a great achievement.  10 points above the drop, showing the difference between a draw and a loss. 

Player Performance

Goalkeepers - Woodman was class, he was showing us why he was playing instead of Rodak and then Rodak got injured making sure that Woodman was #1.  The goals were being leaked by Rodak and Woodman saved a pen to show us why he should be there.  With Rodak injured, Woodman has been awful.  Truly awful.  I tried to ask him to play a bit better and he said he's in the form of his life. His last 4 games his form is... 6.4.  Rodak will be back in a week, let's hope for better.

Defence Our weak spot in reality.  We need a right back in the summer and stronger CBs.  Adarabioyo and Palmer-Brown are the best pairing at the back.  Mattock and Smith are both playing well enough at LB.  It's just the RB spot that is letting us down.

Midfield I'm not sure what to say here.  Vaulks is our best performer, Bartos has come in to make the DLP position his own.  Williams has been a poor signing, looking massively out of his depth.  Palmer has been poor.  Poyet has been alright with the small chances he's been given.  Newell has done some very good things for us but is a bit of out form.

Attacking Midfield Milan is training to be my AMR and he's been doing very well there.  Terrier has been a let down and I've brought in a replacement in Jan.  He'll be backup now.  Kent started off slow and his form turned great, he's out of form slightly now but he's got us some important goals.  We have a new AML who I will be showing soon.

Strikers Joveljic has 10 and 23 and honestly, it could of been more.  Great signing but another in poor form and missing chances.  Janssen has been starting and slowly coming into form as he was bloody awful to start with.   I did try playing him at AMC but didn't really come off.

We're making edits to our two formations and set pieces to try and get more goals and concede less, we're not the best when it comes to set pieces.

In/Out

So it turns out my brexit was a VERY good one, it means that as long as I bring the players in over a certain wage, they can come play in England as long as I register them as foreign, meaning I can get amazing talent from obscure places I'd never normally be able to

In

18 and 19 year olds, for the future and for now.  Worst comes to the worst, we'll make money on them.

Out

Both in last year of contract, neither of them playing.  Cracking price for Robertson I felt.

New players

I really like Bartos, his lack of tackling is a worry but he's 18, we have time to train him but I love that technique. For 700k he was a no brainer.  He's already performing better than my current crop.

I just saw his pace and thought, why not for that price.  He's absolutely proved me right.  He's making Kent into a bench warmer.

Okay, so he doesn't have the best technical stats, he's 18 and has beasty physical stats! He's currently away on international duty so he hasn't made his debut.  He has Driven personality which has done well for me in the past.

Another Colombian to come and take the AMC spot, he could be the next Carlos Valderrama!  We'll see, at 19, can he make it? If not, he should be worth a bit more than the 400k we paid.

So I'm paying 10k p/w for a back up striker.  He only cost a whopping 9k!  He has some good stats and a driven personality, I'm going to see what I can make of him.

Player I missed out on

Due to not being able to sell fringe players, I didn't have the 2mil to bring in this guy.  I want him in the summer for my AMC role!

Going to recall Purrington from his loan as cover at left back and send Raggett back to balance the wages as Ryner and Robertson are enough cover at CB, I wish Yates had a recall clause too as really need cover for Vassell. How did Vaulks do for you? I have always found it difficult to find a role for him, I am using him as a CM(D) alongside Manning B2B.

Yeah, we lack that LB cover.  Raggett wasn't needed for me either.  I'd usually have 5 CBs about, 1 of them being youth or something but we have Vaulks who can cover there so wages could be used elsewhere.  Vaulks did well, he's actually always performed.  I used him as a B2B and I had a DLP-D next to him.  Manning/Towell didn't perform me at all.  Manning I tried to use in the AMC spot and Towell, well, anywhere.  Palmer as DLP-D, Newell as AMC and Vaulks as B2B worked best for me.  Yeah Yates would be nice, if you're using 2 uptop you're defo lacking a striker.

Only lost twice and scoring lots of goals, I've just lost both my Big Lumps Smith and Proctor to injury which is a massive blow to the way I play. Best players have been Newell W(S) and  Manning B2B.

February

The new blood make their mark, showing us why they came to the premier league.

March

Even more wins, it's going great.  Clean sheets and Joveljic has his shooting boots on.

April

Another win and clean sheet, a loss against Manchester United we played well and can be proud about.  We actually lead 2 - 0 to Liverpool but they equalised but a draw vs 2nd in the league is a good result.  Burnley were the better side but we thought tooth and nail and managed to get the win.

May

A dominate performance against Crystal Palace but a good one for the fans to leave the season on.  We were missing our main AMC and AML to international tournaments but we should of done better.

The table

Our form after the influx of new players was amazing, I mean, I would of never imagined finishing 7th!

Joveljic came 4th in the golden boot, only just beaten by Lukaku, that is some feat!  He's been amazing, £1.3mil was such a steal.

We're in the Europa League as well!!!  This is new heights for Millers!

We have some money to bring in players, I already have 3 bids in.  We do need to get rid of some of the deadwood though.

Season End

Palmer-Brown excelled with the new blood, even making team of the season!

Strange that Match Day has gone down.  The TV money is mental!

New facilities

Felt like we could of gone bigger but iirc we're only in a 12k stadium right now, so it is a huge expansion!

Great news, they wouldn't up the Youth Level though, not sure why!

Aim is to get into Europe again, if I can get the players I want in, honestly.  We have some great players here and I have more hopefully incoming.  It's going to be an interesting summer!

Thanks!  Yep, and there's more incoming due to it!  I'm loving it, players we'd never normally be able to get from African nations etc, you can pick up dirt cheap, it's a win win.

Uhhh, might only be a pre-season game but this is PSG and they started with a very strong squad apart from 2 maybe 3 youth players.  They have players worth over £50million on the pitch and this happens..

Transfers

The window isn't closed, but I can't really see anymore more transfers in or out happening unless I find youth to sign, so I'll show you how good this has been!

Out

Williams - didn't perform in B2B or DLP, sold him for his value, felt I got a good deal here.

Rodak - Well, the plan was for to keep him as a Miller until the day he retires, but Arsenal came in with a silly bid and he wanted to go to play back up there, for that money I can't say no.

Vassell - Not needed, been sat in reserves for a year.  Any more is good, was in his last year.

Millar - Pretty much reached his PA and that wasn't a high enough standard, wasn't needed for back up, money is good.

Palmer - Last year of contract, isn't good enough for the premier league, good money.

Terrier - He wasn't too bad but with the influx of new players, he wasn't needed, felt we got a good fee for him.

Janssen - I understand fans aren't happy, but we have better strikers on less wage and smaller fees.  Can't turn down £10mil for a bench warmer.

Bednarek - Didn't really fit here, I got a good fee for him.

Fletcher - Had injury problems, wasn't good enough, I'd of taken any money.

Smith - Didn't need, wanted Smudge to go play football.

In

So here's where it gets interesting.

First, we have our starting AMC, who I wanted in January.

Our starting LB, kept at a very cheap price.

Our starting AMR.  Been scouting him for 6 months, the second I could bid, I did.  £3.9mil is a steal.

Our starting RB and HG, felt I bought at a good price, we had a lot of competition.  He fits into the role I need him to play.

Rodaks replacement, wanted HG and he's been really good pre-season. 

LOOK AT THOSE PHYSICAL STATS, HE'S A BEAST.  Starting CB, absolute great purchase this!  Worth breaking record for.

Backup CM.  HG.

4th CB, need to train him as BPD, but looking good, especially at £2.3mil.

And another RB.  Looking good in pre-season so far.  Will be fighting Bogle for the starting spot.

That isn't all, we have two players coming in January

Back up CM, has potential.  Only costing £800k.

And a reason I sold Janssen is this fellow.  I think he looks great, could become absolute class.  Worth £3.5mil.

Yeah, hahaha.  I wanted him, I had to pay.  My finances and budget are in good shape.

Everything in Europa is going right, only conceded two and we're battered teams.

Premier League is going good as well.  Liverpool were the better side but the difference is we scored, Woodburn missed so many chances, he finished on a 5.9.  They didn't sub him, they subbed Firminio and Everton instead? Wolves game was great for the neutrals.  10 goals.  Our defending was shabby, luckily out attacking unit are brilliant and Joveljic got 4 himself.  Crystal Palace got put a smile on my face.  We scored from 2 corners and a penalty.  Corners we lacked so badly last season seeing the training pay off is a good thing.  Huddersfield game was tight, Atsu was superb for them.  A great ball from Kent and an even better finish from Joveljic meant we took the 3 points.

This is our group stage.  Personally think we can win it.

The price you pay to keep your best players, will show an image when he accepts but we're paying Joveljic 70k p/w now.  He wanted a new contract and he's amazing so...

Oh and we unlocked these after the Huddersfield game ^_^.

My LW is my weakest option.  Scouts have found a player.  Might go for him in January.  We really need English players though.

Perfect league is over

Even game to be honest.  We were missing Valdez due to international, Milan, Kenny and Joveljic to injury and Bartos and Hasic were too tired to start.  Europa starting to tire us.  We have an international break now which we really need.

And this isn't how you win the league... atleast City drew so we're 4 points above with a game in hand.

Scoring every short on target, our defending/keeping were well below par.  Other end we had the same amount of CCCs and hit the woodwork twice.  We gotta be better than this.  Gotta be proud though, thanks to Europa and a great start/end.  We went 24 games unbeaten, that's some feat for us.

Seems they haven't fixed press conferences. I topped my Europa League group, I'm still top of the Prem and I'm about to play in the quarter final of the League Cup but poor results because we've lost 3 out of 5, which is the same as 3 out of 17.

This may see us drop of the top of the Prem, this is going to be difficult.  3 of the best teams, none of them are having good seasons and will be looking to push on.

So close with the two red cards, they probably should of snatched a draw but we held on, phew!

Great point considering we were playing with 10 men for 45 minutes.

Alisson was solid but the team were poor, they created chances but I love playing against Woodburn, he just seems to miss any chance again us.  It's like he's a secret Miller!

We had to rest some of our best players, we tried, we went close, they just edged out.  The own goal was unlucky, he's dove to save it, it's his off the post, hit his back and gone in!

We're still going strong, this is how it's looking

Icardi scored 3 against Newcastle in their last game so he's joint top with Joveljic who I was scared of losing due to interest... but that interest is Everton, though they're playing well, he's a bit a class above going there.

I think we'll see movement in January.

Out of the competition :(.  We were the better team in the first league but Ederson was just too good for us.  We gave it a good go in the 2nd leg but Ajayi being sent off for a two footed tackle which I didn't even think was a foul made it just too difficult.  We can just came back next year to try and win it.

They score a 94th minute equaliser... we score a 95th minute winner ^_^.  Djerlek finishing with an 8.7 when he only came on in the 51st minute for an injured Arias is a good sign!

January and the transfer window

Out

Woodman isn't good enough and wanted first team football, no one agreed and we were both happy for him to part.  Poyet I declined to extend his loan at Bolton to try and sell him on, only interested party were QPR where he's on loan with a chance to buy.  Mattock wanted first team football, I couldn't give and McAuley isn't needed here and I need him to play.

In

Think he looks superb.  Will play back up with Joveljic.  Arthur isn't happy but I think Wintzheimer is a better team player and will be better for the club.  His first name is also Ludwig, which iirc is the eldest child of Bowser in the Mario series.

One for the future, I think he'll have a bright one.

Random player that popped up, a lot of clubs were interested.  They were offering like, 500k + clauses.  I just bid money straight up, he'll be backup and can improve.  Oh and he's English which is a huge plus.

Back up keeper, better than Woodman.

Was looking at young English players and I took a punt here, retraining at CM also.  At the very least he should be able to be backup for us in the future.  If not, we cash in.

I can't even imagine spending that much on one player.  Though there are players that are worth it that are transer listed, E.G Dybala.  I just cannot afford or attract them here.

Results

Cracking Premiership results.  Drawing at City is a good thing, they were the better side but couldn't create any good chances against us.  See above about the League Cup Result .

13 games to go.  Who will get the premiership title?  Who will get the golden boot?  It's so close!

Oakwell holds 23k where the New York Stadium upgrade will only hold 20k :(.  We'll be losing money!

Tough ask, Italy still have Lazio, Roma and Inter in the competition.  That's strong.

Wait, Manchester City are out!  They lost on away goals to RB Leipzig after Icardi missed a penalty to win it!

Our Prem results just went wrong.  We were the better side in both matches, we just couldn't hit the target.

City didn't have this problem and we pretty much need to win 12 matches for the title.  Maybe I'll just settle for Europa this season.  We just gotta keep going!

This hasn't made it easier, we just beast Villareal 2 - 0 in the home leg but we lost our best RB :(.

Intake is poor this season.  I am upgrading my facilities now every chance I get.

First leg was close, a draw was probably a fair result.  I was hoping the away goal could help us out.

Anyway!  CUP FINAL DAY! Oof, I did not realise how good a team they were.  For some reason we're in our yellow/blue kit and not red/white when they're in dark?

The line-ups:

First half:

1st minute - Joveljic hits a ball into the box and Djerleks header is saved, good effort.

7th minute - It's a goal.. to ROTHERHAM!!!  We attack with pace, Djerlek hits a ball square into the box and the incoming Bartos hits in!

9th minute - Leverkusen have a free kick on the right of the area, they pass around and Aranguiz has a good shot.  Henderson makes a good save and Kenny hoofs clear.

13th minute - Bartos feels a ball through to Djerlek, he shoots from outside the area and it goes wide.

15th minute - It's a Rotherham corner, ball comes in, it's down to Hasic but he hits wide.

16th minute - There's a goal.. WE'RE 2 - 0 UP!  Valdez cuts out a poor pass from Tah, we counter with pase, Valdez to Ortiz, he passes to Joveljic who smashes in!

21st minute - Ball up from Sehovic to Joveljic who shoots and forces a good save from Hradecky which goes out for a corner, the corner doesn't come to anything.

32nd minute - Leverkusen corner and Tah goes close but it's the side netting.

43rd minute - Leverkusen should score, Ajayi heads the ball straight to Zivkovic though he's under no pressure, he plays a great ball to Paulinho who hits the side netting, should be doing better.

It's half time and we're looking good.

Second half:

57th minute - Tah and Kuhn are replaced by Pongracic and Garcia.

60th minute: - Milan and Vaulks replace Ortiz and Hasic.

68th minute - There's been a goal.. it's a 3rd for ROTHERHAM!!! Valdez wins the ball, passes to Bartos who plays in Milan who slots in!

69th minute - Aranguiz comes off for Valverde and for Rotherham Pugh replaces Kenny.

69th minute - Joveljic is in but he tries to chip and gets it all wrong, should be The Millers 4th.

71st minute - Hradecky has to make a good save to tip over Ajayis headed attempt from a corner.  We win another corner which is easily collected.

76th minute - Pugh crosses in a lovely ball, Joveljic heads it but Hradecky makes a great save.

82nd minute - Leverkusen have a free kick on the edge of the area, Garica takes but hits over.

91st minute - There's a penalty!  It's to Rotherham!  And because we're so late in the game I am going to let Dean Henderson take it!

The Prem:

What an achievement.  I have such an amazing squad here, players values have already skyrocketed.  Players worth over 20mil I paid less than 5 for, it's crazy good.

He got it, shame is he has a lot of big clubs after him, I hope we can get him to stay.

He plays very well with Joveljic, they're both in the national team and they have each other down as play well together.  Hope I can keep the partnership as he's just signed a new contract.

Aim is to strengthen some areas, mainly the CB spots.  A lot of the team will be staying, nothing drastic will happen.  I have a great team here.  I will cash in if big bids are made though.

I found this a bit amusing

This I didn't we should of had 3 goals in the first half.  We just couldn't score.  A different day, we'd of got our first Community Shield trophy.

Now is this because of Rotherham fans or... City fans?

This is the extent of the transfers this summer.  Players got new contracts.  I was having to pay around £50mil for a new CB which weren't much better, if any better then who I currently have in my team.

He always scored against me.  He takes the place of Mohammed Arthur who is currently out on loan.  He needed the first team football.  He did really well in Europa, had the chance to bag top goalscorer, January hit and he just didn't look bothered to play here anymore so when a loan bid came in, I took it.

Turns out at some point I could of picked him up for £275k, I didn't seem to bother.  He popped back up in my scouts list and I thought he may have a future and decided to get him in.  He'll play in some cup games.

Something went odd here, I didn't notice the friendly games our assistant had arranged.  We were playing them whilst the international break was on after the league had started.  I started pre-season too late it seems and it effected us.  We got an opening win, another away fixture though.  Oh yeah, vs Barnet.  Wintzheimer scored all 5.  If Joveljic had gone, I know I had a striker.  He's still here, willing to sigh a bigger contract.  Clubs like PSG did come in, they made some bloody joke offers.  £40mil upfront, X amount of games, X amount of international games, X amount of goals and we'd receive more money whilst they throw bigger money elsewhere.  I told him that he wouldn't find a better atmosphere then we have here, he agreed to stay which is a huge plus for us.

All 4 of them are in my starting 11.  It's what the club needs.  I've replaced a lot of my staff, I'm trying to invest into the best facilities so we can get better homegrown talent in.

I have three spaces available when I can get coaches in that will improve the possession coaching.  We have a new head scout, new scouts, new HYOD, new physios.  I've redone the backroom to give us better quality through out.  I've had to let some players go due to names, ex-England internationals etc but there is no way I could let Richard Wood go, he's a play-off legend.

In fact it turns out we have the best coaching team in the league.

This is where we need to improve.  To be honest, I could look more into scouts.  I have no problems with our medical team.

I said we'd need a bigger expansion then that we put in for.

I forgot to screenshot the news item but we took on an affiliate.  We have Palmer-Brown who used to play at Sporting Kansas City so I felt they were offered to be to us, I'd take it up.  No harm in trying to bring in money, I'm not spending in on transfers but I am over the wadge budget .
