[Scotland] Data Issues

Recommended Posts

Please post any data issues related to Scotland here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for Scotland should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues Forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling and league rules.

As a heads-up, the data used in the beta is a week old, and many changes have been made since then.

Please don't feel you have to report issues like Neil McCann being replaced at Dundee by Jim McIntyre, as we are on top of that.

Also, in terms of attribute issues, please try to keep reports to issues that are spectacularly wrong (i.e. if Stephen Dobbie had 1 for finishing for example). As the opening post says, there is an element of subjectivity with rating players, and a debate about whether a player should have 13 for tackling rather than 12 might result in more pressing data issues being missed.

Daniel Candeias starts the season listed for Rangers , I don't think this was ever the case. He was club POTY last season and has played a lot under Gerrard this season.

Candeias and Morelos should probably have each other as favoured personnel as well. they appear to have stuck up quite the friendship off the pitch.

Morelos being rated 2 for teamwork is extremely harsh as is Candeias rated 9 for dribbling.

Gareth McAuley won't be on 15k a week in real life

Colin Stewart isn't the Rangers GK coach on game

And no under 18's league for Scottish clubs? Or did the new reserve league replace that in real life too? I cant remember lol

Tristan Nydam is on £3k p/w at St. Johnstone, on loan from Ipswich.

Although I do not know what St. Johnstone are paying towards his wage IRL - it will not be £3k as that would probably make him the highest paid player in the club's history.

It is indicative that Tommy Wright is barely using him IRL - so obviously doesn't feel a need to get his money's worth from significant wage expenditure.

Lewis Stevenson rated as a rotation player when he's hardly missed a game in about 3 years and is one of the 1st names on the team sheet and also one of the most consistent players in the team, not right.

I am unsure why Kyle Magennis has 4 for flair when he regularly takes players on with skill? I don't know who the researcher is either, because they have other attributes wrong. If there is any justification of why he has 4 flair, please let me know. Was quite confused.

I'm the researcher. Agree the flair is too low, not sure what else is wrong, unless things are too high. He has the third highest rating of any player in the squad (not sure what the recent arrivals have). He's still relatively young and there's plenty of scope for attributes to improve.

**RANGERS**

Morelos TEAMWORK rating is extremely harsh.

My biggest issue would be that Scott Arfield is not accomplished in any central roles. I know he did play wide sometimes at Burnley, but I believe even there he played central sometimes. But, this season he has been central every game. Probably Box to Box midfielder, maybe even playmaker. His attributes suggest he could play in either.

One last thing, I seem to be scouting players, then when I go back to check on them it has 'un-scouted' them, and I have to scout them again.

Apart from that, all good so far.

Rangers

Steven Gerrard's preferred formation is listed as 5-3-2, when that has only been used once this season and he has almost exclusively used a 4-3-3 formation with high pressing. Also I the playing mentality of very cautious is out of tune with how Rangers have played this season going after teams in almost every match.

Also it seems strange that Glenn Middleton's potential ability has decreased when he has been promoted to the first team and done very well especially in the Europa League.

Ayr United Staff

Reserve Assistant Coach - Tam Tait

Under 18s Manager - Craig Dargo

John Somerville - No longer a scout for Ayr United

Ayr United Players

Jamie Adams - Should be D/MC (played most games this season as a Centre Back)

Declan McDaid - should be AM (RL) can play on either flank

Robbie Crawford - Should be M (RCL) Robbie can play in all positions across the midfield

Craig McGuffie - Not a Striker - Should be AM (RCL)

Finn Ecrepoint - Should have a higher potential. He has been in every Scotland squad at his age group for the last two years.

St Johnstone are paying the full wages of Tristan Nydam, which won't be right, not sure exactly what they will be paying though. But as has been said, only a few players in St Johnstones history will have been that amount. I think it was half of George Williams wage they paid last season, so this will likely be similar.

Tony Watt is contracted until 2020, when his contract is actually until 2019 with a years extension option - Evidence (https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/ex-hearts-striker-tony-watt-on-why-saints-suit-best-for-scotland-1-4814144

I'm not against him being set to cautious as we've absolutely been defensive first with a high energy press and counter. His preferred tactic should be 4231 wide in FM , we absolutely don't play 3 up top - it's Alfie up top with Kent / Candeias generally in AML AMR. 41231 or whatever it's called in 19 would also work

2 for Morelos is nonsense. He does an absolute power of work outside the box with his link up play and running all to the benefit of the team.

I spent time last weekend going through every manager's tactical preferences based upon the formations they have played throughout the season so far.

As such Gerrard's preferred formation has changed compared to what is in the beta.

As for Middleton, he has a 'minus' potential, which is a dynamic one between two points (in this case, he's a -7 so it could be as low as 110/200 and as high as 140). That, as far as I know, is the same as it was in FM18.

Oh you are the researcher? I am curious at to why it's 4, I think this needs changing. I mean just looking at him play in real life, you can evidently see he isn't a player who is shy to take on his player. Looking at the game against Celtic at the beginning of the season he was taking on their defenders in all areas of the park. It puts you off a player if their attributes don't reflect their ability. Will this be changed?

Injuries such as Berra, Souttar and ikepazu that happen during the ongoing season don’t get added as far as I’m aware. Only if they happen in pre season or carry an injury over from last season. Otherwise the players injury history would be wrong.

Will that database change happen in our saves, or will we need to restart a save? Also, any estimations, I am St Mirren now and wondering how long it will take to either restart or continue. Thank you.

Yeah, Steve Walker the Rangers Reserve physio in FM should be their Head Physio, with Robin Dicke, who I don't think's in the DB, the reserve/youth physio, from what I can work out.

Ryan, you're playing a beta version and it's been made clear that at this stage there may be errors. You will need to start a new save when the game is fully released for any changes we make to come through,

Stu has agreed with you that the attribute needs changed, and I hope (but cannot guarantee) that this error will be rectified for the game's release. If it's not, you can change the attribute yourself in the editor.

Yh Steve is the physio however there is also another physio, the guy is abit older maybe in his 50's alongside him. Also Rangers are missing Jordan Milsom as a Head of performance but i assume thats just like a fitness coach ? and Colin Stewart Goalkeeping Coach as i've mentioned previously. The other physio is the man on the right in the photo below . Apoliges for not being able to see the mans face.

I wasn't moaning, I was simply explaining the reasons why. It was the same last year, but he had 2 flair, which was weird - after his recent call up to Scotland and his form, plus player style thought it may have been addressed. I am only stating stuff which could potentially be changed; nothing more, nothing less.

Milsom's in the Rangers db as Head of Sports Science for release  as @Stuart Milne says, the beta data's a week old. Those are the formations I was meaning when I said 4-3-3, I was always forget that FM is different from Fifa in that regard. Alfie is an absolute shambles I agree. While I do agree that Gerrard has been focusing on defensive first I wouldn't call it very cautious, it just needs to be upped a notch or two, not drastically.

Why is there no u18 or youth league? Or Scottish youth cup! There is in real life.

Dumbarton have no players under the age of 19 and Ayr only have one player under 19? Is this because yous aren’t including a youth league that players from the youth teams aren’t in the game? seems unfair considering the English leagues get both the u23 and u 18.

Also cant pick non league Cumnock as my favourite team despite being able to do so in every other version

The u18 competitions weren't fully added to the game until earlier this week and won't be in the beta as a result.

Dumbarton have no players under the age of 19 because they neither field a reserve nor u18 squad in the competitions. No representation in the division = no kids.

@dandy1903 I think you've stumbled upon some kind of bug. McKenna isn't listed as a favourite staff of Aberdeen at all in the database, so shouldn't be a legend for the club.

Could you report it in its own thread in the All Other Gameplay section of the forum.

Noticed that rangers still play cambuslang in a friendly every year in the game, does this still happen in real life? and if so shouldnt it be the reserve squad that gets this fixture? Don’t think Gerrard took a team there this year.

James tavernier only has an 8 for flair surely this is a bit low considering the amount of goals/chances he creates?

Malky Thomson
Gregory Vignal
