[U.S.A.] Data Issues

Recommended Posts

Please post any data issues related to U.S.A. here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for U.S.A. should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues Forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling and league rules.

Ok 3 things with the New England Revolution:

First off, Christian Penilla has an option to buy on his loan in real life, but it is not there in game. I cant find the number for the price on the option, but the evidence is here: https://www.transfermarkt.com/cristian-penilla/profil/spieler/212309

Second, I think Luis Caicedo should have a higher current ability. He was one of the best players for them this year. I would raise his natural fitness, pace, dribbling, first touch, and tackling by 1 or 2 points.

Third, I would lower Gabriel Somi's current ability. He was terrible for them this year and barely played. I would lower his positioning by at least 3 points and drop his marking and work rate by 1 or 2 points too.

Another New England one: Michael Mancienne's history has him transferring from HSV to HSV II for a million pounds. This was, of course, his fee from HSV to Forest, it's just on the wrong line.

Timothy Weah has 7 international caps at the time of writing. Not sure when the data cutoff is, but FM shows he has 0 when his debut was way back in March.

UPDATE: I noted this in the French thread as well and the French researcher says he's logging this tomorrow morning, so all good now.

A few small ones for Vancouver Whitecaps:

Marcel de Jong is blond in real life - he's got dark hair in the ME

Whitecaps Residency has recently been renamed to Whitecaps Academy (news article).

Russel Tiebert has a personality type of 'Ambitious' which doesn't seem quite right. Hes the club's longest-serving player and seems like the archetypical one-club-for-life guy.

I dont see a topic for Canada, so I will post here

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

- Ballou Tabla plays for canada, but in game is set to ivory coast
- liam millar plays for canada, but wants to play for england
- zachary brault guillard plays for canada, but wants to play for france

·        State what you think the data should be.
All three players should be capped for canada
Millar 3 Apps, Tabla 1 App, Zach BG 1 App, Alesssandro Busti 1 App

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Joseph Mora is showing as a free agent he plays for DC United. shows in his history unless they released him in my save? but its not yet January. Same with Ulises Segura is a free agent and plays for DC United. Just seems strange that 2 costa ricans have been released by DC United but still playing with them IRL.

This is because in the game D.C. has more international players than slots, which isn't the case in real life. Luciano Acosta and Frederic Brillant have received their green cards which means they should not count towards an international slot in game, but they do.

Apologises as this is the wrong thread but after much searching its the closest to a North American thread I can get to.

Turks and Caicos Islands have 4 assistant managers - which seems all ok apart from 2 of them are the same person listed twice - Daz Meeham.

A couple things for Columbus Crew SC staff:

Federico Pizzuto is Italian, not Portuguese. Age is 29, not 42.
David Handgraaf age is also 29, not 40.

Not quite sure if this is a data issue or not, but managing NY Red Bulls my affiliate team's facilities seem off to me. It says Red Bulls II, Red Bulls U23, and Red Bulls Academy all share the same training facilities, but only the Academy actually has the same level facilities as  the senior squad. Red Bulls II and U23 have significantly worse training facilities and junior coaching, which in my mind seems wrong if they share facilities with the first team. A brief review of other MLS teams showing this issue holds true across most of the MLS in regards to owned affiliates who share training facilities.

The affiliate agreement also says all backroom staff are contracted to the main club only, but Red Bulls II has 3 coaches and none of them are contracted to the senior team. Same applies to the academy. This might be a workaround due to the way FM doesn't treat the II team or academy teams like B teams in holland/germany or a true u-19 squad, but it still seems to fly straight in the face of the what game tells me about my affiliates on the club partnership screen in regards to staff contracts. Seems the game tells me I should have control over staffing these teams even though they aren't in active leagues but then doesn't give me that ability.

Couple big problems with American/Canadian newgens in this one, though I probably like the system more than last year.

- They're way too good! Check out a save with MLS loaded in FMRTE. This is normal. If they're willing to sign abroad for everyone like they normally do, it breaks the game open.

- The distribution is off, the better players should be weighted more to the MLS academy teams than they are. Should be closer to 50-50 than like 95-5.  From running a lot of these saves it looks almost impossible for a Davies or Efrain Alvarez to come through MLS club academies, and way way too easy for a foreign club to find a Sargent or Pulisic. There's the one Seattle kid at 130 and that's about it, in a sea of super high-PA players. These are the real alumni from US Development academies.  The ones who Europe doesn't find will go to the Superdraft - in reality, the Superdraft is nowhere near that good. A lot of the PA Classics-type academies have a 0 for youth recruitment, maybe this defaults to something better than it should and they produce these players through force of numbers (there are a ton of these academies).

- The new nationalities add a lot of flavor, but I'd say a Dutch or Uruguayan kid who can be world class moving here at 13 to a crummy academy in Minnesota and picking up American nationality along the way is very rare, not a rule of thumb. It seems like the foreign players are programmed to all move here at the same age. There are players from top soccer countries (usually washouts from academies) who play in our university system and get picked in the Superdraft, but they're MLS-level, not 180 PA. Jack Elliott, Fabian Herbers from the Union. Someone like Diego Fagundez (Uruguayan) moved here when he was 5, that's pretty common. Then there's Pulisic and the likes of Altidore, Lee Nguyen, Justin Meram etc. who were born in the US to immigrant parents, some from big soccer countries and some from very small ones.

I have to agree with this post - the game doesn't handle newgens in a way that models reality for the US.  For example, the USMNT are playing England today.  I'm not aware of any college draft players on the squad, but three of the expected starters went through the FC Dallas Academy, while others in the squad are also academy products.

Oops, Zimmerman was part of the superdraft, but also played for an academy, but not an MLS academy.

Why some players like Cobi Jones and Alexi Lalas deleted from data? They are legend for the country and I like to play with them. Deleting them while there's lots of long time unemployed useless staff just not make sense to me. I know they are not working too but at least they did something to deserve to be in the game. I hope you guys add them on the next update. Thank you.

Neither are marked NFE/Deleted.  They should be in there if you play with full US DB.

For Minnesota United, there are multiple players who are no longer with the club in real life as of 2019. Ibson and Fernando Bob should no longer be with the club, nor should Sam Cronin potentially, though he has just been cut from the team and this was after the transfer update.

Taylor Kemp has a extremely low Home Reputation in the editor which results in the game fixing it to a value that's extremely high when you start a new save.

Aodhan Quinn's father Brian Quinn was born in Belfast, therefore his nationality should be changed from the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland.

Mohamed El-Munir should be renamed to Mohamed El Monir and have a CA increase of +5 or more to represent his form in the 2018 season.

Other players that should receive CA increases based on their performances in 2018-19 include Corey Baird (USMNT), Peter-Lee Vassell (Jamaican International), Forrest Lasso (USL Defender of the Year), Maxime Crépeau (USL Goalkeeper of the Year), Foster Langsdorf (14 goals in USL), Matt Bersano, Graham Smith (72051183) (USL starters), Andre Shinyashiki (MAC Hermann Trophy runner-up), Benji Michel (USC All-American Second Team and Haitan call up), Diego Campos, Lalas Abubakar, Reggie CannonPaxton Pomykal, Diego Rossi, Ken Krolicki, Brandon Bye, Andreas Ivan, Florian ValotBrenden Aaronson, and Nouhou Tolo (MLS starters/rotation players)
