[ENGLAND] Exeter City Data Issues

Recommended Posts

Please post any data issues related to Exeter City here.

As much of the data is subjective we’d ask that you respect everyone’s opinion and accept that the final decision is that of our club researchers and our heads of research.

We also request you please adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

·        State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

·        State what you think the data should be.

·        State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for Exeter City should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues Forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling and league rules.

  • Christy Pym has been given above average injury susceptibility and he's only had 2 injuries in his career.
  • Pierce Sweeney needs to be more distributed to become an attacking full back as he's more a CB or 'no nonsense' type. He's been getting assists and goals from outside of the box! https://www.devonlive.com/sport/exeter-citys-pierce-sweeney-nominated-2062305
  • Archie Collins is a versatile player but is predominately playing as a centre midfielder. Thats where he played against Fulham in the EFL Cup second round.
  • Seeing as Ogbene was signed late in the window when the chat in the media was about us being short of money and that he was primarily used as a back up option I dont think we would be contributing £1.8k a week wages.
  • Chris Weale is also registered as a player so a move to coach and player would be good.
  • Andy Tillson was a centre back in his day and so should possibly have a higher 'defending' coaching attribute than 'attacking'

I also think our youth recruitment and coaching ratings need increasing based on how many players we have developed over the last 10 years.

Wayne Carlisle's job description probably best fits head of youth dev than coach https://www.exetercityfc.co.uk/news/2017/march/wayne-carlisle-appointed-head-of-coaching-at-exeter-city/

As an Exeter fan myself (season ticket holder for 20 years) I would agree with all of this.  Pierce Sweeney is incredibly frustrating as the only real recognised attacking full back on the books in real life.  The Ogbene contract must be a wild stab in the dark, there is absolutely no way a financially astute club such as Exeter would blow their wage budget on a no more than back up winger.  Tilson needs some kind of central defensive rep.  Defo more of an anchor man or ball winning chappie than a playmaker.

Head of Coaching in game shouldn't be reflected as Head of Youth. Head of Youth is in 'EPPP' terms the Academy Manager.

Josh Williams (29191696) signed for Dorchester Town on 09/08/2018 - a non-contract deal, estimated wage of £30pw:

Dorchester have also recently taken Ben Seymour (29159547) on loan until 25/01/2019 - but from reading other posts on the forum I don't think this would qualify for inclusion?
