Otamendi doing the same thing for the second time.

He just entered Alba level c**t tier.

That would've been some ending.

4-3 though. For me, the best game of the tournament.

Argentina wasting their own time gives meaning to the phrase "going out with a knife between their teeth"

Messi has been so poor in this tournament. Just retire from international football now.

Supposed GOAT probably ends his 13 year long international career with 0 knockout goals at World Cups and 1 knockout goal at Copa Americas.

Oh well. Argentina can be happy that they didn't get embarrased.

Now they should boot that clown on the bench and not call up any of the current players ever again except for Lo Celso, Dybala and Pavon.

They keep going on about Mbappe being a new star like he isn't already brilliant and the second most expensive player in history :D

Danny Murphy hasn't seen him live so he is a new star

Great game. Mbappe's stock keeps rising.

Messi will retire but he was hardly that bad. Directly helped them score two (deflection + the cross for Aguero).

The better team won.

It would have been ridiculous for Argentina to go through.

If we lost to Argentina in the 2nd round in 98 and they've lost in the 2nd round in 18 does that mean it's coming home?

If you're gonna take the title of GOAT then you show up at major tournaments (obviously if you play for a country that doesn't qualify for them you can hardly be blamed, one player doesn't make a team). Messi has only shown up at one.

Great game :applause: Probably the best of the tournament so far

France were the better team and it still seemed like they didn't show their full potantial yet.

As for Argentina - they weren't too bad today, but in general this WC really showed why they had so much trouble in their qualifying campaign. Poor defending, poor goalkeeper (although Armani looks miles better then Caballero in the first two games) and the main plan seems to be "Messi will save us in the end". Also some really weird decisions by Sampaoli. The Argentine media will probably end up blaming Messi as usual and I wouldn't be surprised if he retires from the NT once again.

Which one?

Where they conceded 0 goals in knockout phase up until the extra time in final and he carried them with his 0 goals and 1 assist in knockout phase?

Yes, Messi is no Pelé.

Pretty sure he did well in 2006, if I'm wrong then I'm wrong. But even if it is just one, it's still not enough for a supposed GOAT.
