What? Just referring to specific games not the whole WC. I think Argentina benefits from having a referee that speaks the same language compared to Nigeria.

Yea but at most WC's close to half of the teams will have english or spanish as a main language meaning that most matches would then be off limits to referees that speak those languages. If you then add the principles of confederation neutrality and other "this referee isn't a good pick for that game/team" you are going to exclude a lot of the best referees out there from most of the games.

You can do it but you'd have to be OK with more games being refereed by referees from non-top leagues (something that is often unpopular).

2, provided the Argentines pull their finger out and score one.

We've outplayed the Croats to a ridiculous extent for the last 35 minutes or so. That we aren't ahead is just absurd

Croatia is in complete not caring about the game mode. Iceland really lacks quality.

Iceland need to score 3 goals to qualify.

Yeah that Siggy missed penalty vs Nigeria really is massive. Essentially a 2 goal swing in GD between them and Nigeria.

Yeah, imagine these players not giving a **** about earning a place in the team for the knock out stage :D  They lack professionalism to the same extent we need someone able to get the ball in the back of the net
