Fantastic pass by Banega.

This. Pick your best midfielder to give yourself the best chance of winning the game. Not rocket science :D

Icelandic player heads the ball. Croatian player heads the back of Icelandic player. No foul because it's in the penalty area and that's only a foul outside the penalty area.

Football is lovely

When was heading someone while you're going for the ball a foul?

Is Di Maria just **** these days?

He’s usually pretty good for PSG.

No, I'm serious.

Two players in the air, no body contact or pushing, one heads the ball and then their heads collide. Name me one penalty given for that?

and now Di Maria is mortally wounded. Can VAR fix this nonsense?

That's literally what I said, you numpty. Free kicks are given for that, penalties are rarely, if ever, given for that.

Free kicks are mostly given because one player jumps onto another and pushes him off.

Is it just me or is the referee partial towards Argentina and against Nigeria?

Gotta get that France-Argentina money.

Regardless of refereeing, Nigeria has zero chance if this keeps up. They are mostly just watching Argentina play.

Still, if they can weather the storm, they have a goal in them against that backline.

Not hating Jenas as a co-commentator, certainly better than the others the BBC has.

Having referees from a same language country as one of the teams always seemed unfair to me.

It's not like Nigeria are parking the bus, it's just when they break they are relying on long ball tactics which isn't really working. Argentina are hardly carving Nigeria up at the moment.

I'm hoping Nigeria get another half time wake up call because they look useless in attack tonight.

Agreed, but they seem a bit deer in the headlights at the moment. They need to play with more confidence.

So no english or spanish speaking referees at a WC then... Yea that seems legit.
