It's that time of the year again. Still no defensive midfielder but decent potential all around.

Decent technical and mental attributes. Acceptable personality.

e0b4036ffc56c35d137628c7bf283fa9.png

Good at free kicks taking but I'm not convinced by the rest.

Can be useful for us in defence but his personality is not good. I don't have much tutors available unfortunately.

41505f44fe9fb82b516134242a80628c.png

Another one with a bad personality. A lot of work needed to up these technical attributes.

In conclusion, maybe some of these have good potential for the future but my facilities probably won't help them reach the potential needed to get in my first eleven.

An USF Tourcoing game half December. Spectacular is the least you can say! If I could upload the goals you will see the quality of football at this level :lol::lol:

2016-2017+Tourcoing+record+score+game.jp

But only 2 weeks later (begin january) a serious blow. Our top scorer (13 goals) out for the rest of the season :seagull:

2016-2017+Tourcoing+Despres+long+term+in

@Deisler26 You stayed up, that's the most important. Building process can continue with your very young squad. Petit and Girault look like adding important quality. By the way, brilliant stuff with the Hakan update!

@smp20 Hopefully you bypassed that crash. I was looking forward to the partnership between Bastia and Furiani/Agliani after all that family misery

@noikeee Steady progress. The age of your players is pretty ideal to include the new youngsters step by step.

@BoxToBox Incredible performance!

@After Familiar feelings in my save...

@Benjoe Wow, only predicted to finish 10th? That 10 out of 15 points alone looks like a serious mountain to climb

Another in the bag, and the impossible became real.

The four losses at the end were slightly disappointing, especially the cup final, but with 9 of our starters away at youth internationals, there never was much chance of a strong finish.

Also, there's a consortium in negotiation for the club, now that our finances are solid enough they're not really needed.

Another season wrapped up.

46896f854417fb87a62b5557d3f5db3b.png

Maybe we can't talk about progress with only 2 more points than last season but it feels like it taking into account the loss of our 3 best players.

Still, we need to find a solution about the defence : only one team conceded more than us, 14th placed FC Limonest (0 wins!!). Also, let's spare a thought for Istres who played in Ligue 1 during the 2004/2005 season.

To finish this post, I have have both good and bad news.

d1746940cd7505e15f0df93f8fee08a3.png

The good news is I have signed a contract extension for one more year. The president only wanted us to stay up so is totally happy.

277be0f4d5fcab986025415b8995074f.png

The bad news is that we lost Yassine Brunet who was already the best player at the club. He choose to sign for Ligue 2's team Quevilly, difficult to blame him.

Weirdly, apart from him, it's been relatively easy to keep our players. Maybe because they're not good enough to attract attention of big clubs.

Bienvenue dans le Nord
March 1st, 2017 (Youth Intake)

Le moment suprème pour notre equipe et notre future. Well, of course I will sign all of them. None of them really stands out but when they turn 16 chances to play will pass by for most of them. Certainly the youngsters on positions where we currently lack players (central midfielders and strikers) will play quick after their birthdays.

2016-2017+Tourcoing+youth+intake.jpg

I never had a player with a dual Basque nationality. Probably BoxToBox frauded some people in the club...
The 3 players with most potential:
Roger Koné
Pierre Delplanque
Jérôme Leroy

In the competition we are still 4 points above the play-out place. But since Despres fell out with his long-term injury we are finding it difficult to score goals. My other striker, Charly Kiaku, isn't happy with me as manager and dislikes me. Of course he leaves us at the end of the season but since he's our only available striker I do have to put the fraud on the field for that reason. Nevertheless I will kick him out with a big smile on my face when the season is over.

The ship isn't steady at all but I hope we can keep our heads above the water.

Tourcoing, la créative, on y va!

And yup. That's not a promising sign! I had, however, not realized that the point system would affect their point demand.

Quite a solid start to the season so far!

Only once have we been completely without chance and that was against the 1st placed JS St-Jean. I can live with that.

c248d9dbd1abf39a57cf7ff88ab8511e.jpg

As we don't have any player who is remotely optimal as a libero, I've been using a makeshift libero in the form of Killian Jaureguiberry. Not gonna lie, chose him because his name is amazing.

32e5aed85433b963cf8d778c3d7c2b25.jpg

He's been doing fine though. In one game he even scored a game after he was placed high up the pitch after a throw-in. He nettet a peno in same game.

Other than that we're just trying to get through this season quickly. Gotta get to the next Youth intake and hope for some stars, and that we can keep this group of players until the board will allow us to be semi-prof again.

Our finances have never been better in my time, so we should be able to get back to it soon but I have no clue what the minimum amount is.

The season preview's odds reflect my impression about the level of our players in comparison to rest of the league.

f6f42ff8ec05e08d9b05d6ea4fb10ecd.png

After seeing that, I checked the comparison menu. At first, the defensive attributes of our defenders and midfielders.

dc4e98cfbbebe9a1903d443ed89f7e90.png

fef32325fefa080dc1988f7b5af5fea4.png

Lowest in all of Tackles, Heading, Marking, Positioning, Pace & Acceleration for the defenders and Tackles & Marking for the midfielders.

Not a surprise considering our defensive problems last season.

Now, let's look at technical attributes.

Well, this is problematic...

@Benjoe - congrats on meeting the points tally, onwards and upwards, soon at least.

Latest news from the Furiani camp. We've managed to upgrade our recruitment when we bagged some cash from the league cup taking us out the red. We started extremely well, 8-0-2, but 4 losses in a row and fans are turning their backs on the system that got us here

Inspired and entertained by this thread I made myself a save with Toulouse Rodéo for the holidays. Ticked the box for "add players to playable teams" to make things a little easier, but the squad still has some, eh, limitations in the wide areas. Mid-table will be alright for the first couple of seasons.

New intake and another batch of 5* players. As usual, it doesn't mean much given the level of my current players.

aa093d5abf0227912872c949951e8a5c.png

Not much to like in Legrand except his personality and a decent pace / agility.

A little better with Olivier. But I'll need to select him as an advanced midfielder to better use him.

A defensive midfielder !! Not perfect but it'll do.

Weak mental attributes and slow but I'll wait to see how he progress.

Same as for Rigal, his mental attributes aren't very good.

His height is indeed something that worries me as well. Currently I'm using him as a DM in my U19's. If he gets familiar with that position I can maybe use him as an anchor man or pure defensive midfielder.

La Roche VF - National 2D - Season 2019/2020

Predicted: 16th

Final position: 2th and promotion!!!

We had an incredible season. From the start of the season we were battling for promotion. Rennes B was to strange for this division, but as B-teams can't gain promotion from this division, our 2nd place was enough to gain an unbelievable promotion. At the start of the season I was happy with a mid-table finish, but we played much better than last season, and this step up wasn't to big. We won promotion with 2 games to play. I think the step to National will be much bigger and we could have a very difficult next season. We still have all our players from the first season, and still no youngsters are ready to be in the first team.

Games:

Cup: again the 9th round was trhe end-station for us, and again a first division team, this time Amiens, prove to be too good for us.

Youth intake: this time we have 4 players with a 5* ability (forgot to take a screenshot)

Jean Pierre Richard (YP3a): ST, I think he has a lot of potential.

Yoan Bertrand (YP3d): ML

Richard Olivier (YP3b): DM

Mathieu Carre (YP3c): GK

Transfers: No incoming transfers, only players without any potential left the team.

Finances: still terrible, but again due to our good league position we could upgrade the youth recruitement, and junior coaching.

Lost One - Everyone sort of suspected imminent relegation and weren't too disappointed.

Did do a great job for our rep and finances though.

Progression! Actually, it's just 1 more point than last season. Still, I'm only the 3rd worst defence this time.

I changed formation for 3 at the back after a bad start and I'm interested to see what could happen with an entire season with the new formation.

Only 6 losses but too much draws stopped us to finish higher up.

Bienvenue dans le Nord
June 1st, 2017 (End of Season)

2016-2017+Tourcoing+end+season+league+fi

Well, looking at the table everything seems ok (general season review). But especially the 2nd half of the season was exhausting. Due to the injuries up front and thin covered back positions we had to play a lot of games with players out of position. To compensate this we ended with a very unusual 4-2-2-2 formation but we managed to finish mid-table. Which is very, very good given the quality of the available players.

2016-2017+Tourcoing+end+season+table.jpg

Player wise - season stats - the better performances came from strikers Arnaud Despres (13 goals) and Charly Kiaku (15 goals) but both will leave us. Another important player was Matthieu Debisschop. Despite his age I saw him grow in performances when I started to play him as a deeplying playmaker. I'm very happy that he decided to stay with the club. During the season he was't convinced about staying at the club but it's massive news. Maybe it has helped that he was voted the fans player of the year. Jérôme Kisonga contributed from the right back position with 7 assists and stays as well.

Younger players who got a lot of playing time were Grégory Moret (MC/AMC), Jean Mbassi (GK), Olivier Lavie (DM) and Ruben Debisschop (MC/AMRC). Hopefully they grow a bit further heading into next season.
Going forward to next season we lose 3 of the better and experienced players which means that we will now only have 7 players aged 20+

I was able to extend my contract for another season and job security is at 62%. I have realistic ambitions though. Since we don't have any quality (or natural strikers) up front, staying up is all we try to do. Also there's only 1 player from the youth batch having its 16th birthday on time before the registration slot closes. This means a small, small number of players to complete the mission.

Financially we are in the red 41.000€. France is 11th at the world ranking but is heading comfortably to the World Cup.

Tourcoing, la créative, on y va!
