A Football Manager Tutorial

Recommended Posts

FM is such a complex game, and those pop-up question marks really don't cut it, I have created a video showing a basic demo and my ideas for a proper football manager tutorial

i would love for people from the forums to add there own ideas in the comments

Nice idea. The match highlights are not playing?

I am a fairly new player to this game (I started playing with FM16).  I got lucky because the one that introduced me to the game knew it reasonnably well so, I was able to master some basic stuff pretty rapidly but there is so much stuff that, even today, especially on the tactical side, I consider myself barely above "mn...yeah, I know how to do this and that!" level.

I am a grand strategy games player too, and this tutorial idea would be, I think, a great way to spoonfeed the basic concepts and, at the same time, it would limit the amount of contradicting informations new players, if you are like me, find over the internet and on the SI forums as well because the ones making the games would say outloud what each thing means! (side note here, I got lucky cause in the first months of playing, i found some real, solid, accurate informations coming from players who really knows the games and qwerks within it but some might not get that lucky).

I, personnally, would even go a bit further into this.  Example:  the player gets to manage a team with prefabricated results over the course of many matches where situations will arise in all the departments of the game.  For example, a player gets injured: specialist or in house treatments, the managing of the player returning to the pitch after long term injury, etc.  You can also make specific matches where, let's say the game will make opponent score two or three goal pretty fast.  The "ass-man" makes you make changes in roles, duties in-game, you can tackle team morale as well, etc...By making the tutorial run over a two or three months game time, you can tackle collective and individual trainings, players coming to you for better contract or want to leave cause he is scouted by bigger club, having low and high squad morale due to streaks of wins or losses, etc...  dealings with expectations, etc..  you get the drift.

T.L.T.R.  yep, great idea but I'd make it on a longer game time span.
