Although, following the Celtic debacle, the board have given me an ultimatum. 10 points from 5 games or I'll be sacked. As you can see from April's results, I won the first of those. The remaining games, and May's round-up, will hopefully be posted tonight after I'm back from work, but it might be tomorrow. There isn't much suspense in this thread, but you'll have to wait and see how this one plays out. I have not yet decided what will happen if I lose my job at Rangers, but it is my intention that the save will carry on in some form, and obviously I hope that I'm successful with the points target, although we do face Celtic in that run.

Looks a familar scenario in the Scottish Premiership.

Absolutely. FM seems to think that Celtic will have the league title to themselves for a long time to come. Celtic are just too good for everybody, they are so dominant it's frightening. But on the positive side, Sevilla went on to claim the Europa League, and the first leg defeat we inflicted was their only European defeat of the entire season. Much work lies ahead to turn this around, and I'm getting a report after every match saying it's my last as Rangers boss. I'm hoping for a major revamp over the summer, and hopefully a tycoon takeover to allow me to have a proper crack at Celtic.

September wasn't great, though it finished with an important win in the Europa League

and after back-to-back away league defeats, is the title race already over, with a game at home to Celtic next up?

If the league is disappointing, we still have something to fight for in Europe

November was our first unbeaten month for a while

but it wasn't enough to repair the damage to our league position

although we've qualified for the Europa League knockout stages again, with a game to spare. Avoid defeat in Gelsenkirchen and we top the group, lose and we're runners up.

December was also an unbeaten month, but the dropped points were a source of frustration, slightly balanced out by a come from behind, 89th minute winner against Celtic

which leaves us in the top 4, but some way off surprise leaders Hibs. Secretly hoping for a Hibs title win and Brendan Rogers getting sacked.

How are they doing?

Brora have had three seasons before this one, finished 3rd, 3rd and 8th, and are currently 9th. Cove Rangers have had 2 seasons before this one, finishing 8th and 7th, and are currently 8th.

The results after the split went well... to start with. So much so, that going into the Aberdeen game, the title was in our own hands. Three wins and it would have been ours. It didn't play out like that

so Celtic win again. Losing two of our three main strikers to long term injuries after the transfer window closed was a bitter blow, and we couldn't match Celtic, who won the league after recovering from a wobble of their own

Due to the injury crisis and having only two fit strikers, I decided to change formation at the start of preseason, and for the first time I'm using 4-2-3-1

and results have been brilliant, despite a busy preseason with some tough games

Ben Woodburn \o/ he will score loads for you. Quality signing

I'm hoping so, but we can't afford to sign him permanently. Rangers are still financially screwed, need a takeover to topple Celtic!

Given this turn of events, and the fact that my failure at Rangers, the second biggest club in Scotland, means I'm unlikely to get a chance at beating Ferguson's Aberdeen trophy haul, I'm going to continue the save, but the objective now is to simply overhaul Alex Ferguson in the World Hall of Fame. Therefore I'm going to take whatever job I can to get a chance to get back to a top flight team in any country and look to start winning stuff.

December was another unbeaten month, which was particularly pleasing as we faced 4 away games in a row, winning two and drawing two

and we're looking a lot healthier in the league, though I'm sticking to the line that the top half is our target this season

January wasn't a fantatic month, but started and ended with a win. We had a man red carded against Birmingham after 75 minutes, whilst winning 1-0, and couldn't hold on, conceding on 80

which is gutting because, if we'd held out, we'd be in the top 6

I think you've taken a detour off your Sir Alex trail.

I'm not really sure what the point of your comment is. I was forced to resign from Rangers (ultimatum from board to resign or be sacked, I chose the less destructive option). My purpose at Aston Villa is simply to do well enough to get a chance at a bigger club, move up the pecking order, and win trophies. As I said, it's now about knocking SAF off the top of the HoF, not about winning specific trophies. Hopefully as a result it'll be a long term, enjoyable save. If you're not enjoying following it, don't.
