I have one assignment searching Wales for players that are at least partially Welsh. One doing the same in England, one doing the whole UK and one with freedom to scout anywhere for partially Welsh players. We're currently neck and neck with Man City, battling for the title, with Man Utd and Chelsea ho on their heels.... The CL group ended up surprisingly routine with Atletico and Schalke not up to much. With Wales, we ripped apart a Nations League division we should have never been in to begin with, and draw a decent World CUp qualifiers group, with one real tough opponent in Portugal. Missing down bottom is Watford. One of our young lads wins Golden Boy. A good player, who is reckoned to still have bags of potential, but hasn't really developed much in a season, maybe two... Pretty damn good on the face of things. Two players that look to have first team potential, both in positions of concern... Crutch I'm really excited about! Out starting keeper isn't special and already 31, and we have a 27 year old backup that's Championship level, along with a pair in the u-23's that will be career backups. Crutch though, if he grows, should be first choice by time he's 18. He's not far off the pace, here he is compared to Ward, and then Thomas. Rees should be a handy CM, depth at least, could end up quite pacey which is always useful. In other news, in the middle of all this, the backups assaulted the Carabao Cup, and in a real shocker, won it after taking Man City to penos, after the same backups were hammered in the FA Cup by City 4-0. Chelsea are at home to a Southampton. Man Utd are away to Liverpool. We're away to West Ham. None of our opponents have anything to play for. So, we'll start with ourselves... We could do no more. Chelsea choke! 32 shots, 16 on target... All down to the game at Anfield... Barney, who they signed at the start of the season(65m from Southampton) goes into Man Utd folklore. All came down to the Chelsea game in round 36, a 1-2 loss. Maybe we'd have had a draw if the only available keeper wasn't the 16 year old fresh out of the intake.
