Nobby_McDonald Posted January 25, 2018 Share Posted January 25, 2018 I play Motorsport Manager and while writing about it the other day I thought of something that could come from that and be implemented in Football Manager (though likely only for regens due to the threat of legal action). Some examples of how they work in MM... A driver gets married. This of course is a very happy time in their life and as a result their skills improve slightly for a temporary period, as does their morale and this leads to improved performance. The driver is victim to a burglary. Their morale drops for a temporary period and performance drops. A driver becomes a rally champion and receives a permanent boost to a couple of their skills. A driver crashes more than usual and loses some of their focus skill. There are many, many random events that could happen and traits that could be added to FM. It would be great, would make the game funnier and It could give a boost (positive or negative) in the player moral/skills. Here the driver had the house in flames and as she said, she "lost everything". Temporary she lost some skills for 6 weeks, worried with the house loss. The driver is humble and don't get impressed easily, for it the nickname "pés-no-chão" (feet-on-the-floor). What shows her humble way she likes to hang out with the mechanics to the pub, increasing the relationship with them, what will make the different in the pitstops. The driver was invited to work as model. This increased her negociability. For FM, this could mean the player can be able to get sponsors to the club and many sold tshirts. The driver is very happy tutoring young talents He "loves crashing", even he says it is a "racing accident". It could be applied for player as Felipe Melo that loves a hard tackling and says "I play clean but HARD". That kind of trait could get a danger the player to be "yellowed" or sent off but he can be a necessary player for a tough match. This one hates to be the pole position. "I am a fighter pilot, i need a target!". For FM, I could be applied on that player that are shy and don't like all those media things, what can bring problems to their game. I remember Rivaldo. Great player, but shy and his personality harms him even to some people recognize him better player they think (at least in Brazil I feel that) This ones are funny because the "point of view". The first one the driver is happy to be "newly divorced", while the second driver is happy to be "newly wed". And both say: "The life is amazing!"
