Warning: Failed to find a default database to use

Hi,

 

I am getting the message above followed by a crash dump (attached below).

I have tried to delete the cache, delete preference and also reverify FM18. Also tried to troubleshoot the compatibility and it didn't work either.

 

Can this be looked into for me?

Do you have any kind of anti-virus program installed? if so, what type?

Are you trying to run any custom graphics/logos/skins or any other add-ons?

Also have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game via Steam?

Hi Neil,

 

I am running Norton which I have for a good few years now.

 

The only add on I use is a league add on that I get every year.

 

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as re-verifying the game cache

Norton could potentially interfere with FM or Steam. Could you please make sure it's not by following the information on the link below.

If that doesn't work, could you please go through the three steps linked below.

Delete Cache
Delete Preferences 
Reverify Cache

As said can you please remove all custom graphics/logos/skins or any additional database files from your Football Manager folders, then once that's done, try uninstalling and reinstalling.

Once you've done so, try the game again and let us know how you get on. Thanks.
