Crash while loading save game

Recommended Posts

Hello Sports Interactive Community,

Similar to another thread opened, i am experiencing crash during loading a save file.

I saved the game, had to go and when i returned received crash dump.

Please find the below dump files of the crash.

Please advise, i don't want to lose this save game as it is my only one and i do not have backups.

Warm Regards,

Daniel

Yeah as suggested above, please upload your save game to the FTP and we'll take a look.

Also have you used an edited or custom database? Let us know, thanks.

@Neil Brock @Ernest166

Thank you for answering.
Save game was uploaded - Lens.fm

I have not used edited database. It is custom with 6 leagues loaded along with all continents. Max players loaded.

Thanks,

Daniel

Okay we're looking into this now.

Have you tried restoring a previous version of the save? Details on how to do this below:

Let us know, thanks.

Okay as said we're looking into it, there is a chance it may be corrupted and we won't be able to do anything with it. When I have any further info I'll let you know.

Yeah we believe we'll be able to fix this specific issue, but it will have to wait for an update. When we have any further info we'll update, but won't likely be able to provide any until next week now.

Apologies about that.

Okay, what we've done now is put the potential fix onto a beta version of the game, so we suggest moving over to this version and trying the game to see if your issue is fixed.

We would recommend you copy your save prior to conducting this test so you have a backup before following the steps below.

Open Steam
Go to 'Football Manager 2018' within your Steam Library
Right-Click on the game and select 'Properties'
Select the 'Beta' tab
Via the 'Select the beta you would like to opt into' dropdown, select 'public beta'
Click 'Close'

Upon launching the game, the improvements should be active, so please play as normal and see whether your game runs without issue.

Once you've moved across to this version (which will state 18.2.1), please do try it and let us know how you get on. Thanks.

Do you still get a crash dump? Or do you get a different error message?

I get the same crash dump.

Okay may be worth uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Your save games will be left untouched during this process.

Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

@Neil Brock,

Just wanted to thank you and all the hard work last week.

My save loaded after the update on the game.

Wish a good day and happy holidays!
