Crash - Video Driver has stopped working

Recommended Posts

Ok so, i get an error message saying 'my video/graphics driver has stopped working.

When this happened my screen goes black for a second then all is fine apart from FM18 stops responding so i have to close through task manager.

This error only happens with FM and runs all other games perfectly. I have never had an issue until FM.

It's gotten so bad i have to save my game every week as i don't know when it will happen.

The error also happens on multi skins

I'd suggest reinstalling the graphics card drivers (and updating them as you're a couple of years out of date) as shown below:

Let us know how you get on. Thanks.

Thank you for the reply.

I downloaded the new driver and run the game for a few day. All looked good until this happened...........

Looking at the error message, the issue is with the graphics card and its driver.  Did you uninstall the driver before updating it as suggested above?

That's what i thought, the card/driver. The issue with that though is i play many games like Fortnite, Destiny 2 ect... on the pc and the system has never crashed before FM18. The system still doesn't crash with any other game.

As said, did you complete remove the driver (and the AMD software like the Catalyst Software Suite) then reinstall it?

If not, please do so and try again.

Yes, all completely uninstalled. Everything reinstalled! It's getting unplayable!

You mention having multi skins? Could you please remove all custom graphics such as facepacks, logos, skins and let us know if the issue continues.

Ive tried that today but again, towards the end of playing the first game, it crashes. Same error. To be clear, i have no mod or skin installed

Are you running with multiple monitors per chance? If so, if you run off just one screen do you get the same error?

I have a large sony TV connected to my PC. I also play FM in windowed mode, if it relates? Have i also mentioned that the error only occurs during a match.

I will try and unplug the tv and see if it helps

Thanks

The latest crash, did you get it during a match? Are you running any custom graphics/logos/skins or any other add-ons?

Do you run widgets within the match?
