Well, no one can say it was a boring game! At least we were competitive and making steps in the right direction.

2022 Youth Intake Day

37f2c58edaaa5773ff76e0fbe65e7e20.png

This is exciting as for the first time in this save our youth intake has been described as a possible golden generation! With 3 4* prospects it may be a little disappointing, but if they hit their potential they could become great for us.

2021/22 Season Review

b88a829df7a05069b8976bf128292248.png

Another season, another league championship. My 5th in a row and the clubs 6th. Knocked out early in the cup because I use that to give my U19s some first team football.

Key Players

2611c3437f9e8495c765469f9452a74e.png

Pejakovic once again picks up our player of the year, he was exceptional in Europe and was the main reason for our success.

066d59e9d9da3fc9cb29ad9be5db5c6b.png

For the third year running, Terzic is our top scorer and broke his own record for most goals in a season by 4 with 32. He was rewarded with an international call up and did quite well in both games for me.

1df126f769121d2b664442ee69618aa3.png

Another strong season from Subert, missed a few games due to injury but he's not made of glass so he should be back stronger next season. He actually topped the assist charts in the Champions League and we weren't in the competition that long.

Other News

Sutjeska: beat FK Santa Coloma (AND) 6-0 before losing 2-2 on away goals to APOEL (CYP) in the EL 2nd QR

Mladost Podgorica: beat Rabotnicki Skopje (MKD) 4-2 before going down to FC Basel (SUI) 3-1 in the EL 2nd QR.

Kom: lost 3-0 to Vojvodina (SRB) in the EL 1st QR.

I have got the go ahead to upgrade our training and youth facilities again, I think this will be the last one before they are maxed out, so all my facilities will be maxed out as of December 2022.

Our league is now in the European top 50, and will continue to rise if we keep our form going.

More evidence that we are making big strides domestically.

I'm now bracing myself for offers from big clubs now, and lots of unhappiness when I turn them down.

Ouch. I know it's preseason, but still, they are ranked in Europe's top 50 and are 1.5* higher rep than us.

Well this was a flogging . If we are this dominant so early this could mean well for this season.

We've been to Norway once before, and that resulted in our first ever appearance in the Europa League groups, so we head into this tie with a lot of confidence.

Flogged them at home 5-0, but pretty disappointed to lose away if I'm honest. Even so we are through to the 3rd Round:

Last year we beat them 6-1 at the same stage. Can we do it again?

Gutted. Absolutely gutted. We were poor away and I thought we may have had it won when we scored to go ahead on away goals but then Sykora broke our hearts. They took the game to us and got revenge for last years thumping.

I guess this is a little bit of consolation, beat them 5-1 4 years ago and I can't imagine them to have gotten any stronger.

This is much more like it! Our 5th consecutive entry into the Europa League Group Stages.

We were actually seeded 2nd for this draw, and of course we get a 3rd seed in Newcastle. Astana should offer little resistance though.

Very, very poor, I'm not impressed. I can't figure out the tactics for international management, it's a lot harder to sort out when there's no familiarity. We've now dropped to a save low world ranking as well, I might actually get the sack.

In what was perhaps the biggest shock of the group we smashed Spartak both times we played them and by a bigger margin than last placed Astana. As I predicted the Magpies were too strong for us, but the big news is that for the 3rd time in 5 years we have progressed past the Group Stage of the Europa League!

A decent looking group that sets up an intriguing clash with rivals Croatia.

We also had our facility upgrades completed.

I guess we have one more to go to max it out.

Umm so this just happened....

56265b285e5c91a3867e626b84e379ca.png

What an amazing result. We won at home 1-0 in a hotly contested game, and I expected Lisbon to assert their dominance at their home ground, and my fears appeared to be confirmed as they scored within the first 5 minutes. But then Drincic scored an equaliser which meant that Lisbon had to score 2 to win. Mijatovic, our keeper, scored his 6th goal of the season from the spot to give us an unassailable lead and a spot in the last 16.

834d6f306c10148193f7a4b46910307c.png

This is the first time Schalke have progressed this far in this save, so we are on equal ground. Hey, anything to motivate the lads!

2023 Youth Intake Day

8a6d49d6491dc4a211deef649592f896.png

We get our first 5* prospect since Subert 2A, and he's already at 3* CA! Our 2nd and 3rd prospects also come in important positions, and Montenegrin Ibra comes with a great personality as well. We also get a Kosovan in our intake, but unfortunately he won't make the cut.

53bac984343b744318b11cf9930f17c6.png

Well then.

This guy looks freaking incredible. At 15! Finishing, dribbling, touch, mentals, physicals. This guy has it all. He will also have an immediate 5 year contract.

d5ead9bd615b3085f314f0b6ca91a68c.png

Lots of room for growth here.

Fullbacks are always important in these saves, and we pick up another one here.

So, SO CLOSE!

After the 10 goal thriller in Gelsenkirchen, where we scored 4 goals, I was fairly positive about our chances, even more so when Terzic netted so early. Unfortunately that was the only action from us and went down on aggregate 6-5. But an amazing effort from the guys, they played so well and we keep getting better and better every season.

Just out of curiosity what leagues have you got loaded. I'm interested starting a youth only save in a small lower ranked nation and the only thing I'm unsure of is which leagues to make playable ect.

I just have the Montenegro system loaded, but I have all players from clubs in European continental competitions. It adds to the challenge while getting through the seasons pretty quickly. What nation are you thinking of trying?

I'm thinking Finland, Norway or Denmark.

Ah yes interesting choices! I'd say Finland would be the easiest to dominate domestically, but with Denmark and Norway it'd take a while to get on top of the big clubs like Kobenhavn and Rosenborg. Good luck though!

We lost to the eventual champs, overachieved, and also picked up top goalscorer, top assist and highest average rating as well (Terzic with an 8.02).

2022/23 Season Review

eb4bdc910a25bd79dcd1661fe6afa121.png

Another season, another double. It was touch and go for a while after the winter break due to our extra European commitments but we pulled away in the end. We see a few new names qualify for Europe too, Petrovac never finished above 5th so far and Mornar Bar went straight from promotion to 3rd and a cup final which is quite impressive.

Key Players

7e6c4a0155fa089e75188257351d2796.png

Another amazing season from Terzic, netting 41 goals besting his total last year by 9, and topping the continental scoring charts as well. IS there any end to his greatness?

cb6b8eeac9604d09d1558799b901c6a9.png

Speaking of greatness, Subert also had a record breaking season, with 30 assists across all competitions. He made noises about wanting to leave when no one wanted him, but eventually shut up about that and he's here for the next 3 years.

a61f91398abf7d4e7d69cdc9f47e0ab9.png

Solid season in the midfield once more and starting to become a factor in the national team too.

Other News

England won the 2022 World Cup, which was held in Australia. They beat France 3-2 in the final and Harry Kane won Golden Boot. Both Germany and Italy didn't make the last 32 which was surprising. Argentina beat Spain 2-0 to take 3rd spot.

Kom: beat Dunajaska (SVK) on penalties, beat Molde (NOR) 2-0, before losing 6-1 to Panathinaikos (GRE) in the EL 3rd QR. Good to see them going a little further.

Zeta: beat Jelgava (LTV) 4-1 before losing 1-1 on away goals to Dundee (SCO) in the EL 2nd QR.

Sutjeska: beat B36 (FAR) 7-0 before losing 3-2 to AS Trencin (SVK) in the EL 2nd QR.

We have more upgrades on the way, I think they'll be the last ones.

Loving the save, great progression of the club and league ranking.
What tactic are you using for scoring that much ?!

Thanks! Here's the tactic:

ce4a5e766cbb2a43d83730c716a97336.png

This is the formation I've stuck with for the last 3 or 4 seasons, I assess the squad's ability each year and suit the formation to our positional strengths, but I always make sure we have at least 4 at the back and at least 2 in the midfield.

b3ba02b917903c2052f65829368d462d.png

Player instructions are distribute to fullbacks for the keeper, the CBs to close down more and the AF to run wide with the ball.

Our best run yet in a European Group stage, even beating 36th ranked Fiorentina at home.

This is probably our best chance to qualify for a major tournament, as we've avoided all the big teams, and have beaten Bulgaria before.

Down 2-0 with 25 to go, and we pull back to win it 3-2 in the 89th minute. This is what football is all about! We've beaten the 29th ranked team now, who's next?

2024 Youth Intake Day

b85d9dd6fdaf14ece13a1bc14155fce2.png

8 players worth tagging here, and 2 4* prospects, and they're in defence where we need backups, although it would've been nice to get some midfielders.

He looks pretty good, high determination despite his poor personality. 6'5" at 16!

Also pretty decent, plenty to like mentally.

Two 3-2 wins were enough to get revenge on last years Europa League winners and send us through to the last 8! Subert was our hero in the first leg, scoring a double in his first game back from 4 weeks out injured.

e3e3ebf164ac120397285c5bfc59f87f.png

This is the easiest draw we could've gotten, but surely it's the end of the line for us.
