No, it's all try and error. If you watch other matches, does it look the same? The blackness could be because there are no stands and the game is played at the evening.

But how do you actually edit it, is it a case of just taking some of the files from the no stands folder and copying over for example files in 0-10000?

Not sure, I will have to view some other games.

You can remove files (like the roofs) and you can replace files with the files from the no stands folder.

 

Some changes are only working if you do the following steps:

delete cache, close and re-load the game

close and re-load the game again

Don't know why you have to do it twice.

What you need to do:

Use the resource archiver to extract the archive simatchviewer.fmf 

windows: 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2018\data

mac:

(user/library/application support/Steam/SteamApps/common/Football Manager 2018/data/) 

(extract it to the desktop, not the original folder, as this does not work)

 

Replace simatchviewer.fmf with the extracted folder simatchviewer  

Inside simatchviewer open the folder stadiums

rename the existing folder 0-10000 to 0-10000 original (just to have it, if you don't like the mods)

Now put the two mods I attached into the folder. 

Rename one of them to 0-10000 and start the game. Watch some matches and try the other mod too.

 

You can add parts from the original folder, if you think you need a roof for example.

Anything similiar to make larger stadiums have corners? Quite annoying to have a 90k stadium with no corners, looks really ugly.

You could try it with the corner folder for bigger stadiums. It‘s all try and error, I don‘t know if it will work.

They should be editable with Notepad++ or your text editor of choice.
