How many BPD’s

Recommended Posts

Planning to start a Milan save and I want to go 3 at the back due to their abundance of CB’s. One of the things I noticed is that they’ve got a lot of ball playing defenders so I was wondering how many BPD’s would you recommend in a 3 man defence. Their best 3 CB’s in my opinion are all best suited as a BPD

I may be wrong, but my understanding is that BPD means they're giving the freedom to pick more adventurous passes. So it depends what kind of tactic/shape/philosophy you're looking to set up. a possession style tactic with 3 BPDs would mean they would look to play more advanced passes which may be counter productive? a counter style where they pick it up and hit your wingers in space early could be productive. I often dont use them to be honest and prefer CD's. I still look for passing type CBs though, as i want them to hit targets when we play out, but i mainly want to play out through midfield rather than them hitting it longer in search of a killer ball.
