eugene is being a bit too formal and official for my liking. plus with all the talk during the development of the previous version of commercialising Genie, im getting a tad worried :(

I'd gladly pay for it. The lad deserves any money he can make for his efforts.

Why would you be worried? dont you think the bloke deserves something for his hard work?

If you cant afford it, dont use it. Simple right.

If he can release the genie scout on the same day or day after the FM release, i gladly pay for.

Whilst I would happily pay for the program, he certainly deserves paying for all his hard work, I feel that due to file sharing/torrents etc selling the program would be pretty pointless.

I doubt any security to prevent copying could be in built to the software.

I think h should rather explore the possibilites with advertising throught the program and his website...:)

Wonder what the latest is.

Maybe Genie's trying to crack the Sale Value problem.

Would like to see this out this week regardless :)

Me too !

Itching to get started, but I like to do an in-depth analysis of my squads before I do !

Would gladly donate if it helped get it released sooner !

You can search by your club and get CA and PA out of FMRTE right now. That would do until Genie appears?

Indeed, I already have - but i like to select "All Squads", customise the visible data, then output it to CSV and manipulate/sort it how I wish.

That way I can see exactly who's likely to "pass muster" and who will be sold to Fray Bentos !

Sorry to rush in without readin entire threads on the subject but need to get back to work asap.....

What is the status of a Genie Scout (or any decent scout)??

I really don't have time to play FM anymore without the shortcut of a scout utility and gave up on FM08 because Genie didn't seem to be doing one.

....so before I waste €40 on FM09 can someone tell me if a scout will or is available?

Ta.

Until GenieScout comes out, you can always use FMAgent. Its not as good as Genie, you cant look at attributes and there are no player ratings. However, you can still filter by CA and PA which is a major part of a scouting tool.

When have Si ever sold the game with a scout utility? To many it is seen as cheating. They have scouts for that, which retain some of the realism of the game. Otherwise they would just give you a list of the players to buy to make your team world beaters.

It has always been down to the community to produce these utilities as far as Im aware

To be honest, i actually feel a bit guilty using scout tools in this version. The in-game scouts now are actually quite competent, and have led me to buy a couple of gems. The only issue I have with them is that they're too slow to uncover these gems and I accidentally enabled attribute masking. So by the time I find good regens, Chelsea have already signed them, grr!!

That said, I still cant wait til Genie comes out, its SOOOO good!

so i had a look at his website, and is still not released YET.

i guess i will have to put the game aside for another week, and week and week.

Someone should hack into his computer, for the genie scout.

j/k!

We are still waiting for a non beta ver for fm08.

If I was you I would fire that baby up and use one of the other scouts. Your missing out on a real gem of a game.

I'v allready found some real gems useing FMAgentv1.5.

Good luck with the wait, It could be months...

jeeze leave the poor guy alone. stop expecting him to do what YOU want him to do. If he releases it great...if not...then so be it.

Why don't you to try learning to program yourself. In any other field you would have to pay for someones expertise. Here Genie is doing it off his own back and he is gettin hounded by emails everyday

I'm sure either Fm 2005 or 2006 had FM Scout on the disk. There is a lot of people including myself that wont play the game without a scout as I just haven't got the time to manually search for players, If they included a scout on the disk then it is up to the individual user whether to use it or not. As it is there is no choice but to wait until someone produces a Scout utility.

There are scouts in the game you know. They're actually quite good in this version too. The fact that they keep searching without you having to continually give them new assignments makes them even more useful. And you can set them to search the world - what a great job that would be.

I'm looking forward to genie scout coming out as much as anybody else, but for the first time I can play the game as I'd like without it. I've already found loads of great 15-16 yr olds through my in-game scouts.

There was no Scout on the disk back then either.

I don't remember such a thing either. Perhaps you're thinking of the database editor?

Yes sorry I guess I was thinking about something else and got two things confused, Michael Nygreen's FM scout for Fm 2005 I was thinking about which was available to download on the SI website.
