[Asia] (Official) Data Issues

Recommended Posts

Please post any data issues related to any non-represented country in Asia here.

·        Please note that much of the data in the database is of a subjective nature and many people will have different opinions about this kind of data and this must be respected.

·        We would request you all to adhere to the following three point plan when posting in the data topics:

1.      State what you think is specifically wrong with a particular piece of data.

2.      State what you think the data should be.

3.      State reasons/proof for your suggested corrections/improvements.

Please note that any non-data issues for Asia should be posted in the appropriate thread within the League Specific Issues Forum. This would include issues such as league scheduling and league rules.

Just wanted to inform you that Ammar Ramadan Who Plays for Juventus U17 team is a Syrian player not Iranian as shown now in the database

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ammar-ramadan/profil/spieler/490811

Omar al-Soma and Omar Khribin Stats are very low and don't reflect their current abilities

and lots of Syria National Team senior squad players are missing from the database

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syria_national_football_team

also, Syria FIFA Ranking is 77, not 100.  after their amazing world cup qualification campaign.

Iran went the whole world cup qualifiers undefeated and won their group but the game starts with them being second with two losses after 8 games played.

Please update all stats from all the qualifiers around the world

Also Israel is mentioned as Irans rival opponent. They haven't faced each other since 1974 for political reasons. This makes it very political to mention them as a rival.

The real life results can't be used in the game (legal reasons or whatever).

Hello!

Luis Jimenez is playing for Al Arabi(Qatar).

However, he was transferred to new club Al-Gharafa(Qatar) for the start of their season.

Thank you @Pilch098.

If you wish to apply to research Qatari football, please email us (scouting at sigames dot com), explaining why we should consider you for the role, what experience you have, how you consume Qatari football etc, and we can consider that further. In the meantime, keep impressing us with details of moves we may have missed in Qatar, providing evidence of any claims you are making.

If Israel make it at any point to the world cup, can you imagine the intensity of such a match?

Assuming Iran decide to play and not forfeit the game...

Do I need to provide a screenshot of the Luis Jimenez evidence? Other than him being a friend out here, I can take pictures of him playing 😂

Who is the head researcher for the smaller Middle East nations? I was going back on the Asia data issues thread from last year and realised that my reports of Omani international players has been left unchanged. I figured it might actually get done if I message the researcher directly as this forum seems to be inefficient in that regard.

The smaller middle Eastern countries like Oman/Kuwait/Qatar/Bahrain/Jordan/Syria etc... have been a mess last couple of years. But even big leagues like Saudi Arabia and Iran look like they have no active researchers

I understand that Asian/African countries have less people actually helping updating/creating the database (than EU or Americas) but these unchanged players/clubs are quite annoying because many people here trying to help to keep it up to date. Me myself posted a few long posts with issues with algerian clubs (from the Ligue 1). I'll wait till Winter update is out and if they won't fix/update players - I'll just conentrate on my own update.

Hello,

Sri Lanka is listed as a 'third world country' in the editor. Since they are ranked 73rd worldwide in the Human Development Index, enough to see them in the upper half of 'high human development' category, I believe Sri Lanka should be categorised as 'developing state'.

Thank you

Hi guys, I just wanted to bring your attention to Berwick Rangers midfielder GP.

In game it says his place of birth is Dubai, however UAE isn't listed under second nationalities. I've had to edit this In the in game editor because It says his second nationality Is Scottish, the same as his first.

It also says he can speak arabic, however in the in game editor it doesn't.

Hey RP - just a thought - this could be due to the fact the UAE does not allow dual-nationality.  This means that if Gary Phillips has accepted British nationality, he has rescinded his right to UAE citizenship.

Just a thought.

The Asian Head Researcher reads this thread every year and amends the database accordingly. I have no idea about the specific issue you are complaining about as I am not an expert on Vietnamese politics.

That it has not been changed indicates to me that the Asian Head Researcher does not consider it to be a data issue.

But they are right. Vietnamese language uses Latin script (however with a lot of diacritics), and leaving such a typo is a data mistake. As far as I can see, it's, approximately, and on Vietnamese ground, as the English researcher puts a name Leaverpull FC, or sth like this, am I right, @Sapa?

I honestly think there should be more presence from researchers in these threads. Because there are a number of data issues that seem to be recurring from year to year. Without a researcher here to say that it will be done, or argue against the point or even just up voting the post it gives the impression they don’t even look here. That may not be the case, but that’s how it seems. Furthermore, with the amount of effort people put into finding these issues, it can be very frustrating for them to simply be ignored.

That being said, and credit where credit is due: Avto does a great job yearly and just felt like I wanted to show my appreciation. Keep it up man!

It's not a politics issue - it's just a typo that has been in the game for more than 3 or 4 versions now.  "Thanh Po" should be "Thanh Pho" - it's that simple.

Also in general to the HR Thailand

Official Thai Football site has the up to date squads of all it's teams, down to the 4th level. It also is translated to english (top right corner of the site) - when the page is switched to english we can see that all the names of the players have been also translated to english.

With that I'd like to propose to change the names of players accordingly, because right now they are more or less on point but they still seem to contain a bit of the translator touch.

For example let's take (my favorite) team Nan FC

SortItOutSI database page that reflects FM's database: https://sortitoutsi.net/football-manager-2018/team/23141191/nan

ThaiLeague.co.th which is an official source: http://www.thaileague.co.th/official/t2/?r=Clubs/ClubData&id=140

Quick glance at both pages and we can spot the differences right away

Anucha Chaiyawong should be Anucha Chaiwong

Chainarong Kaann should be Chainarong Kakan

Korakod Chotwattanamart should be Korakote Chotwattanamas

etc.
