Makoto Nakamura
I wanted to do another youth only challenge, so here we are, the north of the UK! Welcome to Gilbertson Park, and thanks to @Morrissey's fantastic Scotland databases the home of the Shetland football team, who I shall be managing in this Scottish youth only challenge! The aim is to get these lads from Lerwick to the top, we start in the Scottish Juniors North 2nd Division West, 7 tiers below the Scottish Premiership! We're right at the bottom there in Juniors Level 3! League System: Best 3 players: I have Scotland as the only playable nation but have Belgium, England, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Portugal and Spain as view only all to the lowest division. Makoto Nakamura
2016/17 Pre-Season Well isn't that lovely. And we're predicted to finish bottom, with fierce rivals Orkney (I added this rivalry) predicted 2 spots ahead of us. We've lost just 2 players, both to semi-pro contracts. Makoto Nakamura
July 2016 Just the one match at the end of July, and we win! It was a hell of a trip though!
Makoto Nakamura
August 2016 Bob Munro with some great early from in scoring 5 goals in 5 games, we're only 5th early on even though we have 6 points from a possible 9, we've made some early progress in the cups and netted some prize money!
Makoto Nakamura
September 2016 More progress in the cups means more prize money, I was very surprised that we managed to beat Glencairn since they're 2 divisions above us! In the league we're sticking in 5th.
Makoto Nakamura
October 2016 Losses to 1st placed Golspie and 2nd placed Invergordon yet we rise one to 4th, and a win away to Greenock sees us through to the 4th round of the Junior Cup where we'll be facing St. Andrews Urd.
Makoto Nakamura
November 2016 A poor month by all accounts but only drop one place to 5th, we're out of the North of Scotland Cup against Lossiemouth who are couple of divisions above us. Bob's goals are running dry.
Makoto Nakamura
December 2016 We're focusing on the league now after losing to Scottish Junior East Superleague side St. Andrews United in the 4th round. Bob found his boots against Thurso scoring a brace but just drawing against Burghead Thistle and a loss to league leaders Golspie sees us drop to 6th. pezza96
Derek Docherty looks like he may have starred in a few dodgy films back in the 70's/80's. joking aside have you found that travel costs are making a huge dent in your finances yet due to the big distances for most away games

Not a huge dent, so far we've lost £4,884 to 'Other' (probably Derek's scandals catching up with him!) Travel Costs so far are at £3,776 then Ground Maintenance at £3,422, after that is tax, of which we've paid £607 so quite a jump down.
Makoto Nakamura
January 2017 No players left the club and just 2 league games in January sees us stay in 6th but rivals Orkney are struggling down in 11th.
Makoto Nakamura
February 2017 2 more game and 3 more points and Orkney are now just one place behind us, the main aim now has to be to win the Northern Islands derby.

ManUtd1
I'm loving this. Something about the remote island makes it so appealing. I was going to go with Orkney since in real life they have a club in the North Caledonian League, if there was a representative from the Outer Hebrides than I would have probably gone with them instead. The ponies actually have to pay a 50p entry fee, we may be charging them 75p, now that's shenanigans! 6 hours ago, john1 said: Good luck! Thanks John! Makoto Nakamura
March 2017 4 points from 6 leaves some breathing space between ourselves and Orkney in 8th, with 3 games to go Golspie are choking at the top and New Elgin look very likely to take top spot away from them despite not being top of the table at all so far during the campaign. mjaferrie
I used to go and watch Golspie play, my dad lives up there. Good luck!
Makoto Nakamura
End of Season 2016/17 A loss to Orkney but two good wins to finish the league sees us up in 4th with Orkney in 5th and just 2 points separating 2nd and 7th! No strikerless for this save. 2016/17 Best XI Jordan Nairn (YP0g) Kevin Sweeney - Neil Colley (YP0f) - Lee Martin (YP0e) - Ian Fridge Chris Hoban - Ross MacDonald (YP0b) - Steven Sutherland (YP0a) - Mark Esslemont (YP0d) Bob Munro - Alex O'Hara

Makoto Nakamura
2017/18 Pre-Season We faced a full strength Inverness side and we did amazingly well somehow, and then we beat our u20's twice! Well we're not predicted bottom this time so that's a plus. We've not lost anyone so far this pre-season either.
Makoto Nakamura
August 2017 Well, it hasn't been the best of starts now, has it? Out of the North of Scotland Cup in the Preliminary Round and 1 point from the opening 3 games, at least Bob is still trying his best.
Makoto Nakamura
September 2017 A loss to Invergordon but 2 wins, 1 against bottom side Fochabers has helped us rise to 10th, and we're through again in the Junior Cup with a little bit of prize money.
Makoto Nakamura
October 2017 We're out of the Junior Cup following a 4-1 defeat to Tweedmouth Rangers who are based in Berwick so have a squad of almost all English players, nice touch there! On the league it's 7 points from 9 and sees us overtake Orkney and, for now, we're just 3 points from the top!

Makoto Nakamura
November 2017 Oh dear...2 points from 12 and we're down to 10th, we're still just 6 points from 1st though so the league is ovibously very tight and anybody can beat anybody! Makoto Nakamura
December 2017 Poor defensively but Bob and Derek found their scoring boots to give us all the points available, Bob scoring 9 and Derek scoring 4 in 4 games! All of this sees us climb all the way up to 3rd and just 2 points behind league leaders Orkney!
Makoto Nakamura
January 2018 Just the one game, we should have done better against the side bottom of the table, and spending the last 10 minutes with just 9 men.

Makoto Nakamura
March 2018 A win away to Orkney put us top of the table then the loss to Halkirk puts us down to 3rd, looks like a 3 horse race for the title now and both ourselves and Orkney are close to beating Inverness Athletic's 44 goals scored record from last season.
Makoto Nakamura
End of Season 2017/18 We needed to beat Lossiemouth, we didn't so Orkney are promoted as champions, last seasons champions Golspie finished bottom of their league so should be back here next season. Overall Best XI 2017/18 Best XI Jordan Nairn (YP0g) Kevin Sweeney - Neil Colley (YP0f) - Lee Martin (YP0e) - Ian Fridge Chris Hoban - Ross MacDonald (YP0b) - Stewart Charlesworth (YP1p) - Mark Esslemont (YP0d) Derek Stewart - Bob Munro
Makoto Nakamura
2018/19 Pre-Season Good wins against our under 20's and 2 expected losses against way bigger clubs in Inverness and Ayr. We've been booted into the East Division this season, I wonder if the standard will be any different.
Makoto Nakamura
August 2018 Good start to the season with us qualifying for the North of Scotland Cup and earning a small bit of prize money in the Junior Cup 1st Round win, we scored an own goal to drop the points at home to Coupar Angus which sees us in 5th.
Makoto Nakamura
September 2018 Lossiemouth They've knocked us out of both cups early on so already now we have just the league to focus on and we sit in 3rd after 5 games with 2 good wins and a narrow loss. Makoto Nakamura
October 2018 A mixed month jam packed with goals! We didn't even score (technically) but we come out with 4 points, we're only 3 points ahead of 12th though.
Makoto Nakamura
November 2018 Another mixed not great month and we fall to 6th as we approach half-way, the league is stupidly close though with just 4 points separating 1st from 8th. In other news we got a boring Brexit.
Makoto Nakamura
December 2018 Terrible at home but decent away from home and we're back up to 6th, Aberdeen Uni are proving tough to beat and are now 3 points clear of Arbroath Vics, 7 clear of us. With our poor finances our wage budget has been cut, thankfully we're spending less than £402 p/w anyway, only just though, we're paying out £395 p/w.
Makoto Nakamura
January 2019 A win and a loss and we fall another place, we're really not looking like title challengers but hopefully we can still find something extra to climb a couple of places higher. We lost a youth player to a team in the division above, Alex made 4 appearances for us.
Makoto Nakamura
February 2019 2 wins! We climb to 5th and victory over Aberdeen Uni sees them fall down to 3rd, with 6 games to go it seems to be between Arbroath Vics and Coupar Angus but can any of us catch up?
