Joju91
Is it possible to change the "Goal for XXX" team name in the match_events file from long name to short name? E.g. I'd like it to be "Goal for Inter" instead of "Goal for F.C. Internazionale"
Rash-forwards
Not sure but you may be able to give clubs a nickname like with players? If not you may be able change the name of a club with in game editor, or the database editor. Only things I can think of
Joju91
This might be the code: <translation_record id="game" translation_id="366372" type="use" value="GOAL FOR [%team#1-uppercase]!![COMMENT: FR 191; FR 192;EVENT_GOAL_SCORED;INGAME; EVENT_ILLEGAL_GOAL_SCORED;INGAME;]"/>
laZ.
Where I can find match_event file? I search and found many files with this name.. in db\event folder and in data updates\1701, 1702, 1710 e.t.c Which can be edited?
michaeltmurrayuk
It can be found in the \steamapps\common\Football Manager 2017\data\events folder of where you installed FM. Though if editing that file back the original file up first and save your game before going to a match as bad editing may result in the game crashing. laZ.
@michaeltmurrayuk Thanks for the advice. I found it, but editing this is too hard for me. I wanna change long team name on short team name
michaeltmurrayuk
You can try replacing [%team#1] with [%team#1-six_letter] or [%team#1-short] and then do the same with team#2, though I haven't tested it so it might not work as it depends on whether the game is set to read the shorter names on the commentary. (and again backup the original file before editing it).
