500 games as manager now! We also have the perfect month winning all our games and we move down to 6th with 6 games to go. In the Confederation Cup we beat Ethiopian side Kedus Giorgis 7-1 and now face Tunisian side CA Bizerte in the next round.

It's another tight run in as we're on the same amount of points as CS Constantine and just 2 behind USM Alger but we have a game in hand. Amazingly we thrashed USM Alger in the Algerian Cup Semi Final and now face MC Alger in the final, also amazingly is that it looks like usual mid-table side NA Hussein-Dey look like the new and unlikely title holders!

Cup final loss which is disappointing but expected against MC Alger but then 2 big wins in the league sees us miraculously finish up in 2nd! :D We're also through to the Confederation Cup where I feel like we have the harsher group...

Africa Sports finished runners up in the Ivorian league last season, ES Tunis have won the Tunisian league this season and Wadi Degla look like they're going to finish 3rd in the Egyptian league.

Absolutely hate it when it does that!

Former Clubs:

I just thought I'd do a quick post to show how my former clubs are getting on since I left them.

Diables Noirs

eb6b10e1b24ce097b7c68e44f5d4247e.png

Finally got the league title I was going for in the 2021 season and then retained it the following year...they then got relegated 2 years after that and are now looking like a top half team again.

Toto African

527bd3aef011a47262fbae65da62508f.png

I wasn't really here long enough to have an effect, a yo-yo team.

Operarios

48912dfad010bc0d5807c53a85e7f2d0.png

5th, 6th and 5th before I joined them and they haven't finished below 3rd since I left them :D

FC Cuntum

d8f9bb3e96e97975e2c0296da442bb3f.png

A lower mid table team before being relegated, I took over them when they were re-promoted in 2022 and since I left they've only finished below 2nd once!

Zanaco

e8bde04472504d073ecaebcbff903aa5.png

3 league titles from 4 and they've had some great title battles!

4c3055219b56fcd35e695b80e57ef63c.png

Fun story: Zesco finished 4th and their manager lasted 249 days, this manager was a coach of mine whilst I was managing Zanaco, inside job? Maybe.

A long pre-season with the Confederation Cup where after only having 1 point from 3 games we've automatically qualified for the Semi Finals with a game to spare! In the league we're predicted one place higher than last year and finish 5th. I also had an interview with MC Alger over the break but instead they hired NA Hussein-Dey's manager after he led them to the title last season.

A poor month with just 4 points from 9 and just one goal scored..a penalty, but somehow we're in joint first only behind ES Setif on goals scored but there's just 5 points separating 1st and 11th early on.

3 more wins and a big draw away to MC Alger sees us 2 points clear and have a game in hand with 8 games to go. In the Champions League we've drawn Libyan side Al-Ahli who we beat 8-3 last season in the Confederation Cup.

Champions!! Just 14 goals conceded in 30 games gave us the best defence by some way and the best goal difference in a season where the only the top 5 finished with a positive goal difference! I'll be staying here though as since we've won the league it gives us a new competition to enter ;)

Group A looks like Al-Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns will qualify very easily, we look like we're in a more balanced group.

Usually this is where I would post the 4 stats pictures but since the players haven't gone on holiday that's not actually possible...on to the squad.

Not the best in terms of fixtures but we've drawn all 5 of our Champions League games! Despite the fact we won the league we're only predicted to finish 4th, an increase of 1 place whilst the winner of the season before, NA Hussein-Dey, are predicted to finish down in 12th.

5b60ee2a66619cc451bd1a41beaeb65c.png

I was wrong about Group A, surprisingly KAC Marrakech are the only team to have qualified for the Semi Final with 1 game to play, we play ASEC at home in the final game.

A strong start to the league with 2 wins from 2 and a much needed victory over ASEC has seen us draw Al-Ahly in the Semi Final, they've got the record for the most Champions Leagues won with 13 wins, 5 of these since 2016 but only 2 in the last 8 years.

Also, with us winning the Algerian League it entered us into the Arab Championship!

Just the 2 league games for us and MC Alger slipping up is making my life easier as we sit just 2 points behind with 3 games in hand. In the Champions League we surpassed tough competition from South Africa and face Sudanese side Al-Hilal Omdurman in the next round and if they perform like they did in the Arab Champions League then we shouldn't be too troubled.
