FFP and Income

I've been trying  to figure out ways to make clubs artificially rich while compliant with FFP rules through the editor. I've increased teams' balance and given them annual cash injections through sponsorships and other types of income, but the FFP page winds up saying that the club is in danger of failing FFP, despite a positive balance (for instance, if a sponsor will give 1bn that year, FFP says it is 1bn in the red, more or less). Surely revenue should increase your ability to work within FFP, rather than decrease it? Doies anyone know what income is considered by the game to offset expenditure in terms of FFP?

EDIT: Is it possible that the FFP page is wrong and that it isn't taking into account the finances properly? I haven't delved too far into a save with these edits to check.

This is taken into account for the FFP:

Doesn't matter if you have 500mil or 1bil in balance. It's the Current Season Profit/Loss that matters and it shouldn't be more than -5M over a 3-year period.

Now, every chairman can invest some amount if you are in trouble. That amount is taken from your balance. But, there's maximum amount he's allowed to invest:

(You can find that info in the Champions League->Rules)

So, what you have to do is to add sponsorship or other income in order to counter any season losses. One example:

What I did here was to give myself 240mil over a 10year period (16/17 till 26/27). This means that every year I get 24mil (240mil/10 years) which will count towards the "Current Season Profit/Loss" and of course it will be added to my balance too.
Don't forget to tick "Renew" if you want it to be renewed.

If you did all that and teams still go into the red, it means that it's a bug in-game. Let me explain.
In previous FM versions, if you had a loooot of money, more than 1-2 bil, the game couldn't count that and instead it went into the red (sucks, I know).
The same thing could be happening here, I don't know if they fixed it.

Thanks. Do you know what the cut-off is when money becomes too much?

You are welcome. From a quick search: https://community.sigames.com/topic/298742-why-are-balances-profits-exceeding-£2b-are-losses-in-fm14/

Also, is it possible to edit sponsorship money with the in-game editor? I'd like t rescue my save if possible.

I guess you can, I don't own the in-game editor.
But from a quick search: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zagMPNyUuQQ
And for FM16: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D-RSu8ZfBI
