RAW SIENNA 4231 WB Version Knap 17.3.1

This happens a lot in the Portuguese league. Most teams park the bus and find many gaps in pockets of space left behind the advancing CMs and WBs. I find my players often playing the ball to the marauding FB only for his cross to be intercepted or easily taken care of by the CBs. My RB has 17 crossing and 15 at pace/accel. Striker 16 finishing, 17 strength, 15 jumping and 15 heading. Both my wingers are valued over 30Me so i don't think players are a problem against such teams.

The most glaring problem could be the low interception stat because the opposition is usually with a lot of space for counters.

Got battered in the counter against Roma in the next game. Lost 1-0 only but despite my 60% possession i had only 1 shot on goal...

In general the tactics are set up to deal with park the bus, so should be the most effective way to score. If there was a more effective way to score then it would become the main tactic. There are full on attack tactics and RAW SIENNA 3520 produced the greatest goal diff at 98. This tactic uses slow with attacking.

I tend to let the tactic work or try subs or moving players around to get a goal, but the alternatives are to go slow tempo attacking, an attacking tactic like 3520.

RAW SIENNA 3412 105 pts only conceded 14, so may be a good tactic for being defensive.

There should not be a problem mixing things up with a number of tactics as and when required.

This is a heat map of Lpool using a contain tactic - the AI are unwilling to go forward and just wait for the counter. Oddly the most effective tactics is to hammer the middle with  a narrow tactic. In theory you could try winger tactic to try and exploit wide areas

2 bpd players as CD would not be a problem. Changing the tactic is a unknown.

Hi Knap. I'm still using this tactic and i really love it. Just a quick one, what's your opinion on changing roles?do you think a complete foward on support would work up front instead of the false nine? And also do you think the AMC would work as an advanced playmaker instead of attacking midfielder? I've managed to get Dybala and Assensio buy they aren't getting much joy at the minute.

New signings can take a time to settle.

The other thread I did a revamp with CFS and WBS, so may be worth trying the update.

AP focuses passing so may not work that well.

Had a great game last night using attack lowest tempo away to Lpool with a 3430, but the AI had not SUS.

Won La Liga and the Copa del Rey. Did a great job also in the Europa League! Thank you for the tactic. I know it's not as effective as Goodbye 3-4-3-0 but for the Athletic players it suits better.

I made some tweaks which improved this tactic a lot for me and started giving good results. I want to share it with you guys.

I had two main problems with this tactic:

- Because of the very high tempo, players seem to miss chances a lot and lots of wins are by small margins or some dreadful late draws.

- The goals are repetitive. MC passes to the overloading WB and a cross results in a tap in most of the time.

To spice thing up this is what I did:

- Left wing play stays as it is. On the right wing IWB sits narrower and winger provides width. It provides a completely different wingplay and different goals.

- IWB adds a bit more defensive cover and encourages CMs to push further.

- "Work ball into box" is off to encourage some goal diversity. Tempo is down to normal so we take chances with more composure.

I tried this for 10 games and even though I seemed to create a lot of chances I also conceded A LOT of goals. More clean cut opportunities for the opposition than I've ever had using the original tactic. No idea why.

Can't take  a view of  a tactic over 7 games, would like to see results over the season.

I'm struggling a bit in my Norwich save Knap. Out of all out 4231 tactics which would you recommend the most at the moment? I'm on FM17.3.1.

Mr Ls test Raw Sienna 297 pts Goodbye 3430 363 pts. Wide tactics really need player power. The best compromise is to use WOF 3421 and retrain the wide players. Both Goodbye and WOF can be used on counter for hard games

Hi Knap!

Great tactic!

Which ons should be used against stronger opponents? Because you posted a 'contain' one and a 'counter' one.

Thanks!

I only normally use contain when a man sent off, but can work against very strong opponents.

Here are some of mine achievements with this tactic.

and this is my current striker maybe most goals for me in this years manager.

only thing I changed is f9 to CF(s) I am not sure if it is better but I like it more.

where ever I went I usually neded one year to get right players for right positions. they dont have to be great just right for position.
