Like could I see whether they typically play with a defensive or attacking mentality? Could better scouting of the opposition give me that info? In most cases when nothing is indicated its either standard or control. Yeah I just tried it and I can't believe I have been playing fm this long without realizing that. It has made adjusting to the AI much easier and much more intuitive. Once you do that in the upper right hand corner there is an downward pointing arrow.
