SpillBlood
The Database Introduction I needed a new challenge, I couldn't bring myself to play my Rotherham save anymore. I'd been a watching alot of football and decided I needed to get back into a Football Manager save. But why Salford? I wanted to manage a lower league club and they don't have alot of history. I mean I'm half way into the season and a goalkeeper is about to the break the record appearances, which is less than 100! That interests me. We have alot to do here, records to break and history to be made. The team has only just won promotion to the VNLN but it's good enough to get promoted again. This could be fun. I feel the club has so much potential. Especially as I needed just one more signing, I asked for more wage and they gave me an extra 1.5k p/w! That's alot of money to play with. Updates will work differently then they did with my Rotherham save. It'll be Transfers > September - December > January Transfers > Rest of Season more or less. The club itself According to Wiki, we also have the smallest stadium in the league aswell. I got myself an afflilliate, any money will do and hopefully we'll get some players in at some point. First transfer window no players willing to join were good enough. Sadly, Millwall were my best option and I had to take. The team Players selected are generally my first teamers - my updates are coming from January in the first season so some may be 18 when I signed. Goalkeepers Jay Lynch was already at the club and needed competition. Harry Andrews was signed on a non-contract deal. He's just as good, if not better than Lynch but I'm happy with Lynch playing. He should hold record appearances soon. Defenders There's new blood in this defense. Jonny Helm was signed to play RB and he's probably my best player. Hopefully as he's only 19 he can develop more and play in league 2 for us when the time comes. Keenan Quansah is another played. Released from Accrington Stanley, he's been a rock at the back and he's another who's only 19. He's on a non-contract and was originally signed to play as DM. He currently sits 2nd in the average rating of the VNLN and Helm is 3rd. I should also point out that Harry Worley is just as good, if not better than the two I've mentioned. He's an experienced CB at the age of 28. Haven been bought for Chelsea in 2004/5 for 150k from Stockport. He's been about but never played a proper season until 2010 where he was at Oxford in League 2. Midfielders Wellens is the key man, he's experienced and playing the DM role. Both Matinyadze and Leedham are young players I brought in. Matinyadze has been quality and when Walker was injured I had to sign a new player. Leedham came in late but has been first team since. He's only just under the average of Helm at 7.21 for the season so far. When it comes to wingers Austin and Poole are both too good for this league. Austin is an 19 year old ex Nottingham Forest youngster who is brilliant as an IF at this level. Strikers No one has played well enough to be called my first team striker. It's currently Phenix as his forms improved alot. Mata at 19 is an ex Manchester United and Rochdale youngster and was my started before he got injured. He didn't perform when he got back and Phenix is just playing too good. I'd love to try and make Mata a good VNL/League 2 striker. Transfers So, it's good I'm quoting these players but who are they? Helm: Quansah: Matinyadze: Austin: The story so far I'm currently sat in January. I think pictures will tell a better story. I started out in pre-season just trying to play an attacking 4 - 2 - 4. Get the balls to Poole, Austin and play them in to Hamilton and Phenix and score. It didn't work. I started with a more conservative tactic in the league and we couldn't score. Switched to my 4 - 2 - 4 in the first 3 games and we scored and won. Next 3 games I attempted to play the 4 - 2 - 4 and we got demolished. It wasn't a tactic solid enough or one where we made enough tactics so I had to go back to square one. Had to look who was good at what and where they should play. This is what I've come up with and we've lost only 2 games, 1 in the FA cup and 1 in the league since changing. This should be good enough to stay up. Hopefully we don't hit a bump in Feb like I usuaully do. I can't see many ins and out and we'd need to sell the players that are on part-time contracts before bringing anyone in. I'd rather sign players on cheap contracts that I know will do a job for us next season.

SpillBlood
January Could of been a bit better in terms of results. We did this! And then lost our next game . Dover was a tough game and they're in the league above. First half they dominated us but we managed to pull one back but we couldn't find the equaliser. Phenix went off the ball a bit, Hulme came in and did well then he went off the ball. Mata came in, scored and got injured :(. Will try Phenix again but I need a striker for next year for sure. We're still at the top but Tamworth are breathing down our necks. We'll be two points clear if they win their next game! As for transfers I let people go on a free, this saves me nearly 1k p/w! Hamilton was a signing I'd made and was supposed to be my star striker but he didn't perform, at all. 1 goal in 9 games with 6.53 average rating. I'm looking right now for a guy who's good in the air. I can't seem to find one! The bit that's worrying me is we're losing money quite easily. Hopefully I can somehow boost my money in friendly matches or my chairman throws some money in! .

SpillBlood
Bad times. I lost my best CB. He wanted 900 P/W to stay from a non-contract. He's good but Quansah performs better. Good news. My youth income. I have two players already ready for first team! I'm going to let him start at LCB, I've loaned in Jordan Tunnicliffe to cover. Another youngster. Going to let him play aswell, I like the look of him! My scouts were more interested in Taylor but I don't rate him anywhere near as much. Having a window close in March feels so strange! SpillBlood
With one game to go. End of season table. We've nailed down Quansah, Helm, Matinyadze and Austin until the end of 2018. Brilliant news. Phenix put a hat-trick in on our last game. Might be worth keeping him about. A new striker is key for next same though. Too many draws. Still can't complain really as a draw is better then a loss. Really happy we kept our cool because some of those games were hard. I mean, we struggled against bottom clubs more than top. We have some quality but we'll need more for next season. It's going to be interesting. My wage budget is 11k p/w! Meaning I'll have atleast 7k free when I release some of the deadwood. Not sure who to sign, how I even spend the wage. Not done a lower league save for a long time! Interesting. I'd love to sign some experienced players and then youth from the football league. We'll see! How is Keenan Player of the Season and not signing. Somehow my backup keeper is who played 11 and conceded 13. Only problem so far. SpillBlood
Winner! Bitter! He was voted winner. I had better win ratio, was said to be finishing 9th, I won the league. SpillBlood
Pre-Season 2017/2018 So.. alot of transfers have been made. Staff have all changed. Oh my thought, we got some very good players in, especially on loan. First we have our goalkeeper. We lost both of ours at the end of the season. They went on non-contracts and were stolen. That's fine we can replace backups with no contracts but we got Callum Burton in on loan, for no wages. He's too good for us. Second, he might not have skill but he has some pace! He's played alright in pre-season aswell. He'll be used on the flanks aswell. Thirdly, I lost Worley and didn't replace him. Nevermind though because we have Joe Wright who's just, better. Fourthly, my team wanted more depth in midfield. He may only be 17 but he'll be playing first team. And last we have Mitch Brundle. He may not be first team but he's very verstaile and costing us no money at all! My favourite signing though is our new number 9. Released from Leeds, it's Robbie McDaid! Now don't get me wrong. The team is -quite- big but I needed depth. We have quite a few non-contract players so wage isn't a problem. Infact we still have 4k P/W to spend. We have a good enough side to stay up. Go up might be asking too much but we can keep our heads above water for sure. I mean look at our friendly results. Playing vs Championship/League 1 sides and giving them a game and holding our own. That's pretty good. Looking forward to what our lads can do! I doubt there will be more transfers, the bank balance is looking very healthy. Let's see how we do! Just the addition of staff, better quality were brought in. And yes, that's 26 year old Joe Dudgeon, the former United and Hull left back!

SpillBlood
We've hit January! First, I've never seen this before and thought it was kind of cool! And.. they're keeping me about, new contract already! So how has the season gone so far? REALLY well actually. I'm proper happy with the results and where we sit! We were struggling for a bit so I needed to bring new blood in. The midfield lacked and I had to bring in new players. We'll start with the league table: We're doing great now. With the new signings of strikers Joe Bunney, midfielder Harry Charsley and loanee center back Stephen Aruthrworrey(what a name). We've really turned into a strong squad over one month! We got alot stronger with the three new recruits. Quansah is still first team but he's now our DM and we've changed formation to Little Wonder again. My wingers are inside forwards and with the fullbacks pushing on we get exploited too much. I've also let Mike Phenix go. Wasn't needed and he was on £500! I was checking out a midfielder who looks handy but he wants £850 p/w! That's too rich for my blood. Joe Bunney made his debut in the 2 - 1 win at Dagenham and Redbridge and he's made a lethal partnership with McDaid. McDaids return: Bunneys return: (He's 7 goals in 10 games overall) The profiles, they're all great for this league, if not league two. Charley is an ex-Everton youth and still has some room to improve. We're looking really good. A new left back in the list but it has to be the right player. Sadly Wellens won't see alot of football now, within a couple of months his legs went. Can still tackle and pass but his movement has cost us goals. He is 37! Ronaldo Beckham
I think you get cash for giving a young player a debut, I got 7k all the time in my save with Burton whenever I gave them a debut, maybe an FA scheme to reward playing young players or something. SpillBlood
It's getting close and we're breaking records. Can we take the top spot or will it be the play offs? Shame we drew, a win would of taken us to the top! We've lost our best RB and striker for 5 weeks. About three weeks of that remaining. Green has stepped up in Bunneys absence but no one can play the RB position as well as Helm as he's much better going forwards. Intake wasn't great. Jack Wright doesn't look bad but his determination is awful! Especially since he's ambitious! See if tutoring will help.

SpillBlood
We're still in the title face. We'd have to literally win every game though! New striker Scored and assisted on his debut. Looking like he'd been playing with midfield Harry Charsley for years. Gets injured for 2 weeks afterwards . Green has stepped up thankfully. Our fixtures left: Forest Greens: They have the easiest set by far. I think it's play offs for us which is still a huge achievement.
SpillBlood
Bottle job! We're first with +1 GD! This is so close! Though both there assist makers, DJ Buffonge(15) ad Liam Mandeville(14) are injured!
SpillBlood
Now we bottled it. Luckily Forest Green drew, so we have a small chance of taking the title. SpillBlood
Cup Final Day If we can keep Carr quiet, we can win. Line ups: First half: So close! It's the bar and out. It's 1 - 0! Quansah hits a ball over the top, Bunney runs on and slots in. Hardy has a freekick, he hits it from 30 yards out. It's a huge deflection and it's in! It's half time. Green is replaced by Luer. Second half: It's 3 - 0. Ball falls kindly to Hardly and he curls i tin! Carr is in! But Burton saves! Carr is in and Burton saves again! 63rd minute. Holness replaces Helm because he gets sent off. It's 4 - 0! It's a freak own goal. https://i.gyazo.com/8bea2a31c305e31717e96cbe43dfbed5.mp4 It's 4 - 1! Can they get any more? Carr finally gets his goal. It's full time! SpillBlood
End of Season. What a brilliant one and this year it's my award! Signing of the season is so broke! My LB Bakayogo did alot better then Williams. It's so green I'd love to keep most of the first team about. Especially the players in on loan. We need a stronger squad though for sure. Still think it's great. Dover who are relegated and Chelsmford who are down there helped me win the title. If I didn't have to play Wright at RB when Helm got injured I imagine he'd of won this. He didn't do well there. Now let's see if we can get this take over done asap so I can get some players in!

SpillBlood
League Two! Pre-season: It went really well. We were the best team vs QPR under 23s. We just couldn't score! Transfers Alot of new blood was needed. We kept Burton and Morley. Wright wouldn't come but finally snapped him up and he's our highest paid player, totally worth it. Alot of non-contract players have been replaced. Players I've purchased aren't amazing but they'll do a job. He'll play CM-A. He's been brilliant in pre-season. He's a rotation midfielder. He'll do a job. Has potential, will play first team with Wright. IT's a huge shame i can't tutor him though. Best LB I could get but he's been solid in pre-season. Best player at the club is a loanee from Ipswich. How we got him I'm not sure. He's so versatile. Will be used as a DM mainly. He played quality as Millwall at CM and scored a right belter. And last but not least, my Sweden duo! Didn't care about the U23 thing, I needed one and he can do the job all he wants. He's solid enough in midfield and with losing out on one of my top targets, I found him. Might not be the best passer but I think he's solid enough. Striker that looks alright tbh. Will be first team next to Bunney with Leur playing as my 3rd striker. Austin my LW is my 5th striker(injured McDaid is 4th) and is actually doing well there even though he's competent at best. He scored a belter vs Millwall. The team: Summary: It's going to be very bloody hard to stay up. I have some other players I'm keeping an eye on that are out of contract but it's just whether they'll end up joining. Side has much better depth this year. It's just if we can get the results or not.

SpillBlood
Season started a bit wonky. We threw away a 3 - 1 lead against Shrewsbury. We gave Preston a very good run but didn't take our chances. Forest Green we absolutely messed up by dominating but not putting the ball in the net. Notts County were the better side. We signed Arthurworrey back, he finally decided he'd join. He went into the first team straight away, Digby went into midfield and we smashed Bristol Rovers. With Arthurworrey and Wright finally back since they wouldn't join at the end of the season and Jaden Brown who's not doing too bad. We'll see how it goes! I have this lad coming in as my backup striker. Adnan Cirak is giving me a headache with how bad he's playing.

SpillBlood
Well we've got to January and we're doing superb. After the slow start the signing of Athurworrey gave us the a huge boost. Bunney and Ashby are also doing awesome. Never had a player do this well, especially a midfielder over one month. We didn't do great in the Checkatrade Trophy. We didn't put our chances away in any of the games and we had them but going against Carlisle, Bolton and Manchester United U23s I wasn't expecting to get much. I mean, look at the lineup! Depay, Rooney? Romero was absolutely awesome. And we're still setting records! Helm will break the appearance records I think aswell. Bunney with assists aswell. Table: Plymouth, Doncaster, Sheffield Weds, Dundalk, Peterborough and Yeovil have all offered me job interviews in the past month. Turned them all done, I'm a Salford man this save! If we keep this up I don't see why we can't get promoted! Luton is our next game so that's a huge one. We're also into the 3rd round of the FA cup and considering it's against Grimsby who we beat 4 - 0 at the start of December. We have a good chance!
